Good. That's a strong one. Others?

It's out of character completely. She had no reason to leave. No drug problem, no problems at home or with friends, certainly not that I'm aware of.

Thought so. That isn't far from the intersection. If she was riding on the left sidewalk, facing traffic, then she would have been a little further away, but those guys have feet. And cars.

LE needs to interview those guys. There is ALWAYS a couple of guys or more hanging around there.

Not only do they have feet and cars, but if the same people frequent that place and Mickey frequently rode on that path, they could've figured out that this was how she generally went through the area, happened to have seen her riding from a distance, and could quickly have gotten into cars and ambushed her right after the businesses around Bertrand/Congress where it is more residential for a distance, and quiet...especially if they had pulled onto a road off Congress and waiting for her to drive by on her bike. We've said maybe there were multiple abductors...this scenario would fit a situation in which you'd have multiple perps.

So - if I were to venture the opinion that Mickey disappeared voluntarily, what would be the main objections to that idea, based on what we currently know via MSM about the young woman and about the case?

Not saying I think she took off on her own. I have no idea what's happened. But it's an avenue for discussion.

Hi woofy! I would say she is headed into her last year as an anthropology student and seems to have a verve for life (upbeat and happy...sunny side up)

Ok. I'm not skeered to say it: Cafe Havana City. DELICIOUS FOOD! I've eaten there a few times, day light hours, and never had a problem....except I ate too much.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the crime, there was an altercation resulting in a stabbing in February of this year. I think that perp was caught.

BUT like was mentioned earlier, there have been some instances of guys loitering in the parking lot and yelling out crud at girls....like hey, baby! While wiggling his tongue at her.

IF MS was on the left side of Congress, she would not have been visible from the parking lot. IF the guys were in the parking lot, and hadn't walked over to the fair.

Hi nurse! I'd say the last year anthropology student thing is the strongest of the elements I've seen (unless she's run into problems with her program). So difficult to know the interior lives of even those with whom we are friends.

It's that "aware of" thing that always stops me in my tracks. I really want this to be a case where she's just taken off somewhere for a few days and is safe, and will contact someone soon, and will come back and get to enjoy the love so many have for her.

Just wanted to throw this out there: the cafe does have a vegetarian menu. I wonder if Mickie ever ate there? If she did, then she might have recognized someone she had seen there....I'm leaning today toward thinking that someone familiar to her stopped to offer her a lift, and then abducted her once she was in the vehicle.

Everyone seems adamant she is NOT the type to do that. I don't think she'd put her parents through that either.

Then there was her brother's graduation that she missed.

And apparently she owned quite a few animals that she mustve loved. She probably wouldn't just up & run away without making preparations for them.

I think the police, while saying they have no sign of foul play at this time but are saying that her disappearance is highly suspicious shows they also believe the MANY people saying she is just NOT the type of person to run away.

I just don't think this is a situation where it happened. And I believe even if she had, if she saw what her family was going through, she would've contacted them. She seemed to love her family & friends very very much & everyone seemed to love her.
Good reasons all. She might have known, though, that the animals would be taken care of; she might have felt that her brother would come to understand her missing his graduation; she might not be aware of the outpouring of love taking place right now, after her disappearance; even though folks are adamant, that does not make a thing certain. But, as I said above, I'm just hoping against hope it's voluntary, because the opposite being true is so very scary.

I do agree with everyone who feels this is not voluntary.

JVM is going to talk to her family.

I say aware of because as long as I've known her, I've never heard or been privy to such issues. My SIL tells me everything and all she's always said is how responsible and nice MS is.

OMG my sister in law in on JVM. Absolutely bizarre. Where is Mickey :(

  • #353
Mom says she thinks Mickey was abducted by a stranger. Says they will give the abductor money to get her back. Says that Mickey has had the same group of friends for years so they don't believe she was stalked. The guy she was with last has been her friend forever.

I am coming in late to this case. I found two videos posted on YouTube, for anyone that may want to get the word out on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

JVM?

I know MS's dad Tom. Our company has used his services on many occasions. I can't imagine what he and family and friends are going through right now.

Wow, I was hoping for a resolution when I logged back on. I hope LE are investigating the carnival personel. Thats almost as good as being a trucker, if you're a serial killer.
If she was taken, and her bike was left on the ground, I think it's a good possibility that a pedestrian found it and took it. That person might not notify LE if he didn't want his home searched, or he had warrants.

Oh lord. I'll have to watch her show, even though I can't stand her!

What time & what (Lafayette) channel is that on? I can't stand her either but I'll watch to see what is said. Is it going to be on tonight?

I don't have Cox Cable, I have LUSFIBER. On fiber, it's channel 50. If you have Cox, look for Headline News...I think they abbreviate it as HLN. it's on now, but she is finished with this case. I don't know if they replay JVM later or not.

I'm hearing Nancy Grace is supposed to cover Mickie's disappearance tonight. Same station, comes on at 7pm our time.
