On JVM they are discussing possible links to all the petite blonds. Bill Warner is on the show and says perp is looking for a specific type.
Believes they are connected.

Chicken Fried,

Have you sent a flier to The Advertiser? Or at least alerted them to the fact that LE is not that specific?

I am still wondering about FEMA trailers in the area that should be searched.

Haven't gotten that far yet. This is playing hell with my schedule.

Ailina,

What he's saying is it's a GM product. i.e. Buick, Olds, Chevy, Cadillac.
How on earth can't they narrow it down better? It's an Olds, and I'm not the only one here saying that!

And it darn sure isn't the '90s, because Caddy was the only one making those land yachts then, and it ain't a Caddy....

That is really frustrating me.

Did you send or give your flier to the cops?

Yep, I'm hearing that also, but unless this guy is a construction worker, and is always traveling around the country, I don't know how these abductions could be connected.

Oh no...hoping JVM is not going to go with the spectacular angle of comparing cases with Lauren :( Looks like it...

It is eerie though, isn't it? Holly, Lauren, Kelli, Mickey. All blonde petite girls, all missing around spring time

I stand by my ID. They must not think it's important enough to ID it, yet he said it's the public's job to find the car.

It's a 1977-'84 Olds 98.

Looks like THIS

Not being a policeman, with all due respect, and though they're overwhelmed with tips, I think that's really sloppy police work, considering they're telling the public to look for three vehicles. It's equivalent to telling them it's a 2000s GM truck.

Sorry to any LE reading.

It would be great if they would change the description soon after sharing the information from your detailed email. I wouldn't be surprised if the info hasn't been shared with the lead investigators since you just sent it this morning. It wouldn't surprise me if the officer didn't have your information at the press conference.
One thing he said early in the presser (that wasn't shown on the video I transcribed) was that they needed people to be very detailed in their vehicle sighting descriptions so they could weed through them faster, since they had thousands of tips. I'm sure they appreciated your NINE detailed points of information. Maybe they will be out there interviewing this guy tonight if they run your information through DMV since the car is so rare. Seems like they could look up vehicles based on make/model. I'm still giving Lafayette LE the benefit of the doubt. jmo

Chicken Fried,

*snipped by me*
I am still wondering about FEMA trailers in the area that should be searched.
There is a parking lot full of fema trailers north of Lafayette. I don't know if anyone has searched them.

An article from TheInd, a paper here in Lafayette...not saying its 100% accurate (or that it isn't), just thought I'd share it for non locals or those interested. <modsnip>

chicken fried: I can't find an appropriate post to link and I'm in a rush right at the moment -- but I thought the officer was referring to one of the trucks when he said it was a 90s GM vehicle...? He was speaking of the car...?

Hey Chicken, Can you please give me the link one more time to your most updated flyer....TIA

If these cases are connected I'll eat the cap I wear all the time, and the accumulated dirt thereupon does not make it an appetizing cuisine.

You're probably right but I saw the mug immediately after the search had been cancelled. Then I saw 'charges, St. Martin parish'. wth?

All the other mugshots have - charges, bench warrant or schedule something, etc.
The mugshot peaked my curiousity.

That just means he has warrants/charges in st Martin parish. If you look at the last one it says Iberia parish. It's just how they word it.

Also it would be good to post that on the MSM links/Timeline thread, just so we'll know where it is in order to access it more easily next time.

Yeah then people will take a look and not look close enough and call 911 to have my car impounded.

My car is such a bust right now because most folks don't know an old Lincoln from an old Caddy - and they all think they're looking for a Caddy==== despite what the cops say, a lot of people around town already think it's a Caddy from the photos, and the cops have done NOTHING to correct the error.

To compound my problem, it looks beat-up and "sketchy" - AND has rust where the right-rear pillar meets the fender, and some old Bondo-type bodywork (UNDER the paint, though) it starting to pop free.

At least the car is all one color, and no actual dents... just a rust repair by the previous owner going bad.

But that won't stop people from calling it in, I'm sure.

BULLETIN, fellow citizens, a Lincoln is a FORD product, not a GM product!

I don't think that was confirmed, was it? The video was so so bad though and I didn't see a full replay. When I first watched the (really crappy) video I didn't get the impression they weren't ON the bike but I could be wrong.

They didn't say yes but if you read the transcripts, imo, it's clear that even though they won't comment that is what is implied. I think a reporter sort of got the answer in a backwards kind of way.

We only know about them because they are little blonds, IMO...must be thousands of missing women...

What would really tick me off is to start getting pulled over because the police are asking the public to look for a car but won't provide the correct description!:banghead:

In a single sentence (according to the presser transcript posted upthread), he referenced the car and GMC 80s 90s, but no mention of trucks in that sentence.
