Boudin, I think if MS was spooked by a car she saw in front of her on parkside (a block or two in front of her) that she was too far down parkside to turn back. If it were me and a car was where it should not have been in front of me, I would NOT HAVE TURNED AROUND ONTO A STREET WITH NO HOME ENTRANCES AND A SIDE COULEE IN A DARK AREA to get back to a friends home. I would have kept sturdy like she is, taken a left on Versailles and tried to stay in lit areas. IF I was also thinking someone was following me at the end of Versailles, I would have taken a left to get back onto congress where there was activity. The only reason I suspect MS did not worry about that car she HAD TO HAVE SEEN IN FRONT OF HER ON PARKSIDE was because she chose to go rt. She may have done this because there are lawyers offices to the left and a church to the right; seemingly safe even at 2 am it gives you a sense that justice and God would be on your side. If Mamamia and I are correct that could be the OLDS on parkside turning rt onto versailles, following her up versailles onto rt on St Jean and then across university where she AND THE OLDS are seen again in front of the govt building. We need to seriously look at this. Can anyone put together time frames and discern that car sitting at the intersection of parkside and versailles? does it look like the olds 98? it does to me; it does not look like a white truck.

Does anyone on here Geocache? geocaching.com? I am interested but do not have an iphone ,so have only gone out once or twice. There is a cache in the cemetery that I have looked for once or twice before to no avail because I did not have proper GPS. The characters in that cemetery working on the lawns spooked me to no end. If people are thinking they would not be able to go look inside that cemetery, they are wrong. Staff at the church let me in to geocache. I would be happy to use the excuse of geocaching to enter the cemetery and look amongst the graves with anyone that is interested. <modsnip>

I was just told that within a matter of thirty seconds a helicopter landed at the search headquarters and LE rushed her father into the helicopter. I did see a yellow helicopter flying around town all day today even a little after five. Again, this is only a rumor but this is coming from people who were at the headquarters all day.

To answer the question about the hospital I would say it has been vacant for about a year give or take a few months. I have only been in the building when it was a hospital not recently. I think their plans are to donate it to the University of Louisiana to use for their nursing program. I do know that their is a funeral home on the corner of St. Landry and St. Mary. This seems like the type of business that would have a surveillance camera wouldn't ya'll think? I know the owner of the funeral home lives catercorner across the street from the funeral home...Maybe he has a camera? Doubtful but you never know. I'm guessing these would have already been checked because it was the street she was last seen on but maybe they have one in the back of the funeral home that could be worth checking...There is a coolie that runs on the side and possibly behind it....

I'm not sure. The fact that there's a way to get from Azalea Drive to Parkside to St Mary in a rather quick way makes me think someone can turn around in a hurry, and did so, but I just do not know.

Definitely, though, if he was gonna turn around and come back for her, he'd have to know the area. Driving it today, not knowing exactly where the roads come out at, there's no way I could have done it without some knowledge before.

You also mentioned that there was a lot of construction in the area, and you did see a white truck that apparently threw you both for a loop, do you know where that white truck was coming from or going to, did you ever see it again as you drove back the other direction?

No problem, Artis. If I saw that somewhere random, I'd probably look it up anyway. Like I do website bumper stickers with no given context whatsoever. It's my curiosity.

Still curious to see street view.
It doesn't look like there is a street view. I can't get it to go down that street.

I'm sorry. It was a cryptic and odd post on a thread about Mickey. They just posted that location. 2nd house on courville off of nursery hwy in Beaux Bridge. It freaked me out as though they knew something.

Some people will make posts elsewhere about possible visions they may have and the way you worded what they wrote sounds like someone's vision to me. Not sure I have a lot of faith in the visions as I haven't seen any where they have come true but you never know.

Well, not all sexual predators abduct. Some prey on those around them...relatives, neighbors, etc. But we do know that another young lady was approached just a day or two before Mickey's disappearance. The man offered her a ride and later offered her money for sex.

It was said to have been two months ago, as opposed to two days ago. http://abcnewsradioonline.com/natio...pearance-police-seek-driver-looking-to-p.html

That's if she's telling the truth. People tend to come out of the woodwork wanting a little attention in situations like this. There was mention from a media outlet (can't remember which one) that she never filed a police report about it at the time it happened.

i posted earlier about the recent rise of human trafficking in baton rouge. i had to leave right after i posted it, but i tried to go back to see if there were any responses and i didn't see any. what are your thoughts on this? can the police department take on human trafficking rings successfully, or do we need the big kahoonas to bring them down?

I would think the 'big kahoonas' would be in order!

Are you talking about the lady that NG was talking about? The man was driving a white truck and was white and in his 50's?

Because that happened a couple of months ago, not a couple of days ago. But it might be connected, who knows. Maybe the guy escalated his behavior, considerably.

Yes, katydid....I think this is the incident I had in mind. Sorry if I misunderstood the timeline when the young lady was approached. It wouldn't surprise me if the man's risky behavior became more brazen over time, especially if he experienced rejection again and again. However, this line of thinking is just one possibility.

I'm honestly not picking on you so please don't take this personally. But this is precisely how rumor becomes fact. That happened a couple of months ago, not days.
Also, some strange man picks her up during the night and she willingly jumps into his vehicle. He says he looks around the area for pretty young girls and then propositions her. Did she really think he was going to take her down to the local shop for ice cream? Maybe I missed a part of her story, but it all seems like something that probably happens in every decent sized city on a nightly basis.

I don't know of any other missing persons in Lafayette. But I think the smooth operation of this disappearance shows a person who has, at least, plotted something out...or thought about the things he would need to do to complicate LE finding him.

I absolutely agree. I misunderstood. I thought you were saying a pro at bumping the back tire, i.e. and maybe there had been other similar incidents recently (maybe not abductions).

I know this is likely nothing,...but whenever I read about you folks talking about the fema trailers, it kinda steals my breath....

There are several parking lots full of them. Some were auctioned off, the rest are just sitting there rotting, probably full of roaches and rats. I shudder driving past them.

Oops! Yes, I misunderstood the time frame of that incident. Even so, it wouldn't surprise me at all if these two incidents were related...but they probably were not. Still, it gives me pause to think of the white truck being considered in Mickey's case.

The incident itself was not a rumor but fact....I just had the wrong time in mind...instead of 2 weeks ago it was 2 months ago.

Please feel free to correct me anytime...I often follow many cases at once and it can become a challenge to keep each case's facts in memory, especially a thread moving as quickly as this one. After 4+ years of following dozens (hundreds?) of cases, its easy to do.

Wowwie, after all that, do you have any idea in your own minds as to where this guy turned around, and if so, I'm assuming that he would have needed to know EXACTLY where he was going and was very familiar with that area. Someone has driven that route for a very long time and it's his playground.
Where would the runaround route be? can you give me a pt A and pt B to go on? Bayoubecky and I did try to turn around on st landry to azalea; it was not easy and probably took longer than what appeared in time frame (although if you could give time frame it would be easier to figure out). Becky, we did not try turning around in the funeral home, but there was a circular driveway that would have been easy to do a turny in at 2 am. but would there not have been cameras?

Ms Patterson was picked up at 2 PM. Mid afternoon. Broad daylight.

Shelly, I really am trying to figure out what you're talking about here but it seems like you're making some leaps. Can you clarify for me ...

1) What part of Parkside are you talking about without home entrances? I see entrances on both the north and south side of Parkside (flanking Versailles).

2) Are you assuming the light seen behind Mickey on Versailles is a vehicle? Because on the map there is a street light directly above the light on the pavement.

I had similar thoughts. She should be thankful he pulled over and let her go. Sad to think that way, but these days, it seems to be so. He offered her $ for sex, she said no, and he dropped her off. It doesn't sound like he is a cold blooded killer, imo. Just an old perv looking for trouble, and willing to pay for it.

Shelly...my family geocaches. I joined The Acadiana group on FB and messaged the group admin about putting word out to cachers so they'd be on the lookout while they're trekking remote places. Don't know if he ever mentioned it.

To be fair, it was 2 in the afternoon (according to her).
