Is it the type of big parking lot where long-haul truckers might park for the night or park their cabs for the night?

They do this in large parking lots around here (i.e. the mall parking lot).

If a trucker IS the perp, I could see this case being related to others.

No it's not. Its a city government building. Empty at night

this is just MO-But I would be scared to death riding that far at 2 am-I would take the shortest route-if not going to TB-why would she go that way?The person who posted the TB-Jefferson- theory is on to something-where was she going??

again:

Good theory, except that the Taco Bell drive thru does not allow bikes and the lobby closes before this time. That, and she had just had TB with BW at his house--they had to pick up BW's car so they could do drive thru.

Great, TYVM! Now does anyone know where the "old" Toyota building's whereabouts? TIA

Knock off the talk about a forum for Mickey. This thread is about Mickey not a forum for her.

I will let Admin know about your REQUEST for a forum.

Thank you

Ima

Thank you for actually responding instead of just deleting my post. A subforum will allow for a much saner discussion and will actually cut down on the number of posts here due to less of people repeating themselves. Subforums aren't a limited resource that must be rationed! Thanks! Let's find Mickey!

Because the goal of a gazillion threads is within our reach in our lifetimes!

Sorry, my head exploded toward the last of thread #12.

It is a decision taken on my part as a matter of easier organization and assimilation of the myriad ideas put forth by many posters to keep threads in the 500-600 post range.

RBBM: I think this is a very good idea. That way, we don't have to wade through 30+ pages to find something.

Thank you wfgodot for all of your hard work!

JMO, IMO, :moo:, all disclaimers....

My coworkers and I were discussing the possibility of a smaller car being involved. Trying to fit the bike in the trunk but won't really fit, hence trying to slam the trunk and bending the rear wheel? And removing the grips to fit better? Thoughts?

Two trips to Taco Bell is not out of the question if you didn't get enough the first trip. :-) But your drive-in comment is correct. Unless she was short-changed by the cashier or had a reason to go back.

Could she have decided to take Johnston Street back home?

I'm just concerned that possibly she turned off St. Landry onto St. Mary or even another street for whatever reason and surveillance video wasn't checked down Johnston or other streets in the area. Or have they blanketed all cameras and camera owners in Lafayette?

Sorry, imamaze. Was responding to other posts, with what I think are solutions to valid concerns in this case.

Back on topic.

I know about the bike path--I'm from here...but if she went down Brashear, she would have gotten to Johnston in an area that's very shaded and not as well lit as the bike path, plus it's a main road that would be full of drivers leaving area bars--honestly, there is enough traffic on Johnston at that time of morning where I am 100% sure that someone would have seen her if she had traveled all the way from Brashear to the bike path. If she takes Coliseum Rd, she can get onto the bike path without having to get on Johnston St. at all.

I tend to agree. If she was intending to get on Johnston, which is one of the busiest streets in town, then why wouldn't she have just avoided all of the side streets and taken Congress straight home? It was mentioned before that cyclists tend to avoid heavily trafficked areas for safety reasons, so if she didn't take Congress for this reason I really can't see her wanting to take Johnston. I'm not a cyclist though, so maybe I'm overlooking something.

Bumps her bike, gets out of the car with the pretense of checking on her...while she's got her guard down/shaken up/etc. he pulls a weapon...I could see that happening.

I agree. Wouldn't make much noise, either.

JVM has Mickey's dad on, she says. (HLN)

Hello Everyone,
(I am re-posting this from the last closed thread.)

I have been reading everyone's post on here and trying to catch up on everything but this is my first post. There were only 2 white trucks. One with a bed cover and one without. The white truck with the bed cover which is not the one in the photo by Circle K appeared to be a mid size truck. It looks like a Colorado to me. This truck has been ruled out. The other white truck which is the Z-71 was the one by Circle K. There are 2 photos of this same truck which was both caught on camera by the Circle K. In one photo it was heading in the same direction as M. and in the other photo he was heading back towards the Circle K. I'm not sure how to do attachments but if it worked, this is the same truck in these photos.
I agree!!! The truck in the 2nd photo you posted does not look to have a bed cover on it and the truck on University obviously does. They just do not look to be the same truck ... to me anyway.

BTW, this is my first post here. I read these threads and there's good insight here. I was anxious to post to see what other fellow Lafayettians think about my Taco Bell theory.

Not a bad idea! If she turned down Brashear that is towards Taco Bell!

Even if she did ride her bike to the TB drive though b/c they short-changed her earlier, they would not help her. Sometimes they refuse to even open the window for someone not in a regular vehicle.

She couldn't have turned off on St. Mary without being caught on camera first. She had to turn on Brashear, and IMO, the only reasons would be that something spooked her or that she had the sudden urge to go to Mel's to meet her friends (which she still could have accessed by finishing her trip down St. Landry, btw)...but if she had decided to go to Mel's, why not mention it to BW and ask him to join them if she was so close to him? Why a second meal when she was tired to begin with and had to get up early the next day?

I have a small car and my boyfriend has a bike that he rides regularly. The only way to fit it in the car is to remove the tires and put it in the back seat. It will not fit in the trunk.

I skipped a few pages not to get sucked into the white truck fiasco so I don't know if this was brought up: I wonder if LE thought about the her turning onto brashear and if they are looking into footage on Johnston?

She couldn't have been short-changed. They stated she used her debit card to pay.
