I guess I will be up all night...having one of my "special" pain days, of the worst kind, so can't sleep anyway...have a lot of shaky body parts. May not say much, but will be here...

So sorry to hear you are in pain. And this kind of night gives little opportunity for relief I would imagine. No need to say anything, hope you feel strength across the cyberworld in the sheer numbers here with you tonight.

Hi everyone,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. I don't have many new thoughts on the case to contribute at the moment, because (like many of you) I'm currently on the edge of my seat. This case has hit close to home with me. It's been amazing watching this community react and help out. Although my gut feeling is not good at the moment, I am hoping for the best for MS, her family, and the community that's grown even closer through this case.

I think we all are and welcome :)

:welcome:

My cat just had brand new babies today, 4 tiny little ones. So, I'll be up, both to watch them, and watch for updates.

The flow of the pilot channel is to the south. This is the largest deepest waterway in the vicinity of the whiskey bay exit. The water is chocolate milk, hard current, depths over 50 foot in places.

Rescue divers will drag with ropes to feel for a person.

i need to correct something I said. I said upthread that I had been saying the bike would be found in the pilot channel. I meant to say in the canal leading east from the boat ramp. It's VERY hard to dump something in that channel under the WHISKEY BAY bridge and have it shallow enough to be found, It's deep. The water under the BASIN BRIDGE is not.

A lot of the confusion has stemmed from the fact that there are two bridges involved.

Thanks, actually it is good to concentrate on something other than myself.

I woke up to 4 kittens myself! She had 3 day before yesterday that didn't make it, then these today that seem to be doing fine.

Nothing better than kittens! :woohoo:

so if the other vehicles are no longer of interest, then they found the drivers of them and talked with drivers about what they may have seen that night?

How precious...nothing I would rather watch than kittens, ever....

Two are all black, one black and white and the other grey and black striped, so darn cute oh my goodness. Mama is laying back in the bedroom on the soft bed against the pillows all warm and pleased with her bad self lol.

This case has been a heck of a geographical learning curve for non-locals, yeah?

That has been the rumor all evening. A confession. MOO- a confession would send LE back out at night to search for MICKEY, not a backpack.
Still unconfirmed that divers are out there. I think that is extremely risky to send divers into the notoriously strong Atchafalaya at 10pm. It's so dark out there. The water is so murky. Alligators hunt at night (though they are probably scared off by the activity).
I agree, I think the current and just the general darkness would be the biggest concern for the divers and others out there right now. We fish often in the basin, Bayou Benoit, Lake Martin, etc. where there's lots of gators (and BIG ones) and they always bolt when we get anywhere near them.

That's what is being reported, yes.

Would the PERP have dumped her bike and body in the same place? Odds?

IMO, if it was a hit and run, I could see the perp wanting to get rid of everything at once.

But if it was an abduction, I think I wouldn't have even taken Mickey's bike. I would have just high tailed it out of there with her.

Yes, fisherman are all through that area. they were allowed back in after the first search. My interpretation of what I'm seeing is that a fisherman (or civilian searcher) found something. Maybe a piece of clothing or something else that would bring divers into play.

It wouldn't have to be a confession. It will be interesting to see if anything more comes of the confession rumor. Sometimes untrue rumors just spread, but other times true rumors spread until they just finally bust loose and spill. We'll see.

But - to me - with divers - it's likely a confession or a piece of clothing or a personal accessory.

Or Tim Miller with TES advising... statistically...

I just started in this thread. *gulp* I'm so not up to speed...if anyone is pulling an all nighter and is bored feel free to clue me in on any POI, big topic areas on this case. Oh I would love to see a map of where she was, where she lived, and marks where the video surveillence points are. *smiles big and pretty for everyone*

Just saying in light of DTL and Mickey's Bike winding up at Whiskey Bay what is it going to take for the state to put up cameras in that area? If this isn't a cry for it, then I don't know what else is! How could we even go about to get security camera's over there? Anyone else agree this should be necessary?

Also, I know frogging (poor frogs) start's tommorow - do people launch at Whiskey Bay to go frogging? I assume that some people would? I hope this may bring more evidence to light if LE skips over anything beings there would be more people in the area!

Yeah, true, but man, I see two major storkes against Brashear:
1. She had no reason to go that way at all. I don't believe she was going to Taco Bell or Mel's, or to pick Johnston St. over St. Landry. It's wasted effort and St. Landry is safer.

2. If she were being followed, would she really cross all the way across that road right in front of his grille? Take that risk? Now, if he was hanging far enough back for her to safely do it, then yeah, maybe. But it seems much more logical to me for her to bolt right into the Government parking lot. It's right there, and I bet she knew, from biking a lot, that there was a back way out of the parking lot.

I am really starting to think that she may actually have gone thorugh that parking lot into that neighborhood as part of her planned route... which is why she didn't show up on camera at 224 St.: That changes things altogether. Either she got chased and caught in that neighborhood north of St. Landry, or later on by a DIFFERENT perp near the Cajundome or Blackham Coliseum or on Congress.

The problem I see with this though is that if she were planning on going to congress street all along, there was no point to go all the way to St. Landry to cut through Azalea and get BACK to congress. She could've just gone there to begin with from parkside.

Second, I have to disagree about St. Landry being safer than Johnston. Its a small road with ****ed up sidewalks. Although Johnston has more traffic, the road is nice and smooth and has bike lanes and I feel is much safer to ride on. Assuming LE doesn't have video of her crossing the next camera on St. Landry we know she didn't go down to St. Mary or coliseum and pass the creepy abandoned hospital or horse barn. I think cutting through the quiet neighborhood of Brashear straight to the smooth path on Johnston is much safer that some back 🤬🤬🤬 way through a parking lot to ultimately get back to a road she could have got on to begin with. Plus I believe LCG has cameras in the back of their building that would see anything in that parking lot.

So not saying youre wrong or anything, that's JMO

But here's one more thing to think about. What if she did plan on staying on St. Landry down to coliseum? Was riding down the narrow St. Landry road and someone was right on her 🤬🤬🤬, or was honking or something. She turns into the parking lot of 215 St. Landry (224 I believe you posted, but the google map address is actually 215) to get out of the way of the vehicle...and it turns into the parking lot with her. She'd be trapped in there, and the camera is only pointed at the street.
