No, but I'll be there tomorrow and hopefully I meet some fellow sleuthers.

Maybe someone needs to make a big WS poster and hold it up so we can all meet up. Has anyone here searched under TES? Are they picking groups or can you choose?

I can't get past the search that happened last night. At what point, and why, did they decide to go out there? Did someone tip them off? And to call the Chief and Dee Stanley, just seems so odd. I know we as the general public won't get the answers, but I just can't shake the questions.

Can you give us any tips on what to bring &I wear? Also, is there a minimum time you are required to stay? (Some of us have kidos through we will eventually have to get back to.

WSers,

Is this white truck same or different as the VOI?

The VIO appears to have running boards, 4 doors, and higher tail lights to me

When I caught up this morning on KATC (can't remember if it was their fb or main site) I read that it was because of something they picked up on sonar and those reviewing the sonar footage thought it was worth a second look. Personally, since the object was ID'd as a log, I'm fairly certain they thought they were about to recover a body.

I still remember my dad being asked to come in to the local PD for a voluntary DNA swab by the task force for DTL. It was very close to the end before DTL was finally caught but LE pulled vehicle registration for hundreds of males who were in the age range (and I'm sure other criteria- my dad happens to work in Baton Rouge and travels over DTL dumping spot daily). My dad did give a sample to help the police. Anyway... I'm wondering if something similar could be done for the registered z71 owners in Lafayette?

** ETA: I realize it's not very realistic to do so. Such a large task. So back to hoping someone does the right thing and comes forward.

Just curious - did your dad make them sign anything binding them to disposing of his DNA? I know that innocent people give up their DNA, either willingly or under intimidation, but there is NOTHING that violates the 4th amendment and a persons right to privacy in their person more than giving away their own genetic code.

Very cool. Stay safe and check in after!

The rest of us will be thinking about you all.

pants not shorts
closed toe shoes
hat

pretty much everything else they will give you. I think they are using arm bands, whistles, and providing backpacks as opposed to bringing your own like before.

I think it's newer than that, and the VOI doesn't have the black trim near the bottom....from my comparisons, it looks like a Chevy Silverado to me. My neighbor has one nearly identical (IMO) to the one in the pic, and when he gets home I plan on asking him what year it is.

Yup. Absolutely.

I'm no good with vehicle ID'ing, but I do have a Silverado if I can be of any assistance.

OK thanks for the help

We're sure it's a white truck too right? No other color?

Regarding the truck...when I tweak the image a bit, I can see "something" over the back wheel area that looks like a sticker....do you think it's the z71 sticker or maybe something more identifying? I don't know anything about trucks at all...

I believe that is the Z71 sticker. That is why LE has said Z71 from the beginning. I'm sure they (LE) have a clearer image.

Thought so, just wanted to be sure.
