If it happens to please you, I did check the official FB pages for Mickey, Charlie's FB, as well as the only news page/twitter page that I know of in Lafayette. None of which I saw anything about it. If I might point out, you are doing exactly what you're asking me NOT to do. It's very frustrating and I've run into this a few times with people on Mickey's thread in particular. It takes nothing but a second to answer a quick question, if you're willing to. If you're not then please ignore my post. If I ask, it's because I was unable to find it on the pages that I know to look and this is my last resort.

I just got on too, but from what I can gather supposedly a guy from Breaux Bridge with a prior DUI/Hit and Run/Fatality with a white truck (I think) was brought in for questioning today but not charged and has not been listed as a POI.

Nothing new was reported on the 10:00 news.

Hope this is what you were looking for. If there was more on this thread or previous threads, I'm not aware of them.

This would be because the head honchos know what's going on -and jurisdictions in S. LA can be a VERY tricky thing. Remember that Whiskey Bay is in Iberville Parish, Breaux Bridge in St. Martin Parish, and Lafayette in Lafayette Parish. Explains it to me.

And also, just appearing for good public relations, etc.?

I agree...I have followed a LOT of cases here and never encountered such rudeness from members. I know there are a lot of new members here, but some of us who have been here a while are not used to these rude responses, the one thing that keeps WS different, or did until this case.

I've been lurking throughout the MS case and decided to finally post. :) I'm a Lafayette native.

Just wondering if it's possible that someone knew about RM's prior hit and run, then because of that, posted on the GLP site. Then someone saw that on the site, called the tip line, and got the ball rolling for police to look at RM. To me, it's possible that the original poster just knew about RM's history and speculated and the rest is falling in line from that post, not the other way around (RM hitting MIckey, someone finding out, someone posting on GLP).
I was hoping that was the guy, but have a feeling it's not.

I'm headed to Lafayette on Saturday and can't wait to join the search to Bring Mickey Home!

I don't see why LCG's CAO needs to be on-site during a night search two parishes away. He would have no authority there. He's not a member of LE.. Any warrant that would be issued in his parish (Lafayette) would have to go through the DA.. I really can't find a logical reason.

I posted this in a previous thread, but here it is again:

Dee Stanley, as many of you locals (to Lafayette/Acadiana) will remember, was a newscaster for many years. Hence, he has lots of experience in dealing with the media. Stanley was likely dispatched so as to act as spokesman for LCG, in the event of the discovery/recovery of MS.

19 year olds don't often drive newer model vehicles that are worth 5 figures.
Ones that have been convicted of felony hit and run while drunk driving, are not likely to be loaned Mom or Dad's primary vehicle so they can go out at 1:48 a.m. on a weekend night either.

This doesn't pass the smell test for me.

You don't know the spoiled rich kid mentality down here then. I know plenty of 16 yr olds who get $60,000 trucks with custom lifts, chrome, wenches, the works. It's keeping up with the Boudreaux's .

Stuff down here gets done by the head men, and they TELL the DA what to do. Not like Law & Order - lol

I'm aware...and it's my point. In what sane society does a Chief Administrative Officer make any such decisions?? The DA is not the only person they TELL what to do...which is why you don't see this on the news. And it's certainly nothing to be proud of.

Seriously;) I believe there was a fabulous movie that was on the scifi channel that had McGee's landing in it!

I have to ask once more.

Is there any proof that this individual is involved? We could potentially be taking a persons name based on not sure what yet and spreading misinformation. That should give us all pause as it could happen to any of us.

YES! Boudreaux is finally the good one!

But it is true, a friend has totaled 4 cars (while intoxicated) and daddy just keeps buying her a new one.

Sorta O/T but for those of you searching tomorrow, if you tuck a dryer sheet in your back pocket it will shew away mosquitos, bees, etc. Tried this out Saturday night while being forced to work outside for 8 hours and dang, it really works. (evidently the critters are not fond of the smell) It worked for me and thought it might help y'all out. Good luck and God Bless.

No. There's not. I totally understand what you're saying though. We will be careful.

I didn't miss it, but thanks for the repost.

I apologize if this as already been discussed, as I have not been able to read every post on all threads...but I came across the below article and had not heard this mentioned in other articles I had read. Has anything else been said about the other young girl who states she was riding her bike around the same time and was also approached by a man in a white pick-up. The article is worded like the girl may have known the person, as it says he is always trying to pick up girls.

this is true. they get the silly big wheels and all. even the little darlings that fled a hit and run may get a new truck.

Well, my uncle is a parish president - I won't say which, but it's none of the ones involved. But I've gotten a good look at how it works. It's just done man to man. That's why the head Lafayette administrator he had to go out there to Whiskey Bay, IMO - to sort things out in person so there wasn't a total LE C-F*.

Thanks, pal, my straightforward ways get me in trouble sometimes, too.

I hear that. My reaction is "If you don't want to hear the truth, don't ask me"

I think it's entirely possible. Entirely.
