I'm thinking he dumped it ABOVE Whiskey Bay now. Accounts for the bike floating to the bank. He had to get up there because he had to get it into the Pilot Channel. Look at the map I just linked. If he didn't, it may have made its way down to Butte La Rose if it someone floated back up, which he didn't want. The water gets shallower and shallower.... get it past the bend into the Pilot Channael and he's home free - fast current and no population downstream!

He screwed up not deflating the other tire, or there would have been no trace.

JMO - MOO - but I think the theory holds water. Check out the map again!

how about this...

he dumped everything, bike and body at the bike location... bike gets stuck to be found while the body floats down to butte la rose and is seen by a local (glp poster)... instead of just reporting a found body in the water, he implicates this DUI fellow in a scheme to collect the reward...

This also matches the LE line that they say the bike wasn't dumped from the bridge. If it were, it would have floated more downstream.

Right but im asking, if he did the body correctly would it float downstream to never be found? Let me try this.... If the body was put in the water, the deep part, would it continue downstream for many miles or would it be found eventually not far from the original point of placement?

The police did say the bike was not dropped from the bridge, but they did not elaborate further. Seems like I read they found tire tracks down by the bridge as well, but those could be a red herring.

where can you hide a body that you cannot hide a bike..?

you can burn a body but not a bike

you can keep a body but if you can keep a body, you can keep a bike...

assuming we are talking about a body... the only logical thing i can come up with for 2 locations is 2 separate trips, perp did not want to or was afraid to return to the first dumping place and had to find another... what could this imply..?

Maybe not a body. Maybe did keep her alive for other reasons thus was taken to a different location.

If it was done in the area we are looking at it would have to of been done quickly meaning they had to get out of the area fast.

Yes, if the vehicles were near the search point, that is near the Pilot Channel and matches. thanks!

The Pilot Channel doesn't float down to Butte La Rose. Check the map I posted above,,, A heck of a risk for $25K, vs. the death penalty!!

I think the perp dumped the bike quickly, as it was probably in the back of a pick-up truck and could be seen easily. He didn't know if an alert was already out for a girl on a bike or not. If so, then he was already heading in that direction and it was on the way to wherever he was ultimately heading. What towns are out just past there? Also, he may have noticed that it was a fairly expensive, possible recognizable bike.

I don't think a drunk person, alone, would have driven that far with a bike, and a kidnapped victim. Chances of getting pulled over, etc...

I still think we are looking a sober predator.

It makes sense that he could have dumped the evidence upriver of the bridge if he took it that far. If I had just killed somebody and had to dispose of the evidence, I would be very reluctant to take the boat past the launch and under the interstate bridge. I would feel very exposed, like everybody could see what I was doing. Somebody might reocognize me. And the cars above might see the bike in the boat. So, I dump everything upriver, not taking into account the currents. And inflated tires float.

I'm not going to lie, I did a bit of facebook stalking after his name came up, and I think I found who is mother "might" be, if not, she is definitely a close family member, I obviously won't say her name, but she did post some pictures of the McGee kid on May 21st, proudly showing the catfish he and another male had caught.

That would have been on Thursday. And do we know if those pics were taken May 21st, or uploaded to FB on the 21st? Bike was found Saturday the 23rd. Guess they could have gone out, dumped the bike, and then caught some fish?

eta: Oops! was looking at June calender. May 21st was actually Monday. Bike found Saturday the 26th

What scares me about the idea of it being a hit and run is the chance that someone took her and got rid of her even though she could have survived.

Yes, that is chilling. How do they know for sure if she is dead. If she wasn't that is murder not manslaughter.

Maybe the perp didn't want a big noticeable bike in the back of his truck so he dumped it quickly but dumped the body somewhere more discrete.

I don't know. Unless you put a heck of a lot of weight, it would probably move. That water goes fast.

Oh I agree with you. Just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page that this would an "accident" and not some other horrid thing. I use the term "accident" loosely b/c there was no attempt to make it right.

I'm having a hard time with the "accident" theory. If a vehicle accidentally strikes the bike, the thing to do is call 911 and check on the condition of the victim... that's what decent people do. A non-decent person... maybe someone who is scared... panicked... human nature is "fight or flight". You are already in a functioning motor vehicle... if that's your mind-set, you leave asap. That did not happen here... apparently, nothing was left behind. No loose ends in the area where she was last seen... that we know of anyway. The person(s) would not have had much time to think about what they were going to do after an accident... there WERE vehicles moving about the area according to video stills. Vehicles in the area would make the driver more predisposed to leave the scene immediately. Am I barking up the wrong tree here?
