~~~ I have always wondered this. Not "feeling well" and wanting to leave early, the late night call, and probable text. I think she was going to see a "friend".
Do most of the intersections in Lafayette have red light cameras? Maybe who ever took her ran a red light !!!!
:welcome5:
I find it quite morbid that the person riding to the search would have that pic on her phone and would choose to share it with others at this time. Sickening, if you ask me!
It is straight up weird.
I am so confused. Is this a pic of the truck/bike with Mickey's bike in the back that LE didn't release but someone somehow got access to? :waitasec:
NO! It says Lauren bike. I only posted it because somebody asked to see it and a broken link was given. Lauren was a year ago. It has nothing to do with Mickey. I've gone back and deleted the photo for people who chose to only read the first and last post on a page.
this truck is a very close match, very close... at first glance i see no discrepancy to the truck in question...
regarding my phone call... i called the tip line an got a machine, then called the deep voiced PI on the case...
i am not going to assume he meant "we have that tip" or "we know she was hit"... i will say i have a directness about the way i speak to people that gets me answers... his responses were... slow and reluctant... unhappy.
as to the pics... i do way more than look at them... but its hard to explain, but i do throw them into "photoshop" as well... that is where i made the gif (poorly)... as it is not my preferred software...
if i know what i am looking for, i can find it... otherwise i am just like everyone else, blow it up, what do i see, shrink it down, what do i see... i have been over these pics before looking at different details... i originally "assumed" based on stance that the truck was accelerating to give it its current stance, but that certainly goes against the brake lights... white paint on the bike was key... i now knew what i was looking for... and unfortunately found it... when i showed my wife (who doesn't understand why i care) the gif... she looked at the kitties that haven't been fed, and a sink full of dishes and rolled her eyes... when i showed her what i had on my other screens... she cried... handed me her phone and said call them...
i try to separate myself from what we know, and look at what we have, or don't have... does it make sense to me that somebody could get hit in front of a busy place and have it go unnoticed..? unfortunately, in this all about me world we live in.... yes it does... that is exactly the place it would go unnoticed, right in front of everyone... there was more that i left out of my description in the pics because my hands were shaking, and i had no idea how to animate two simple frames in photoshop and i just wanted to present what i had found. i am not a sleuther or a detective... i am a simple graffix guy who doesn't even spell his own screen name right... actually wololo ;) but everybody always mispronounces it as wodalo...
there are often answers right under peoples noses they don't see... then when i point them out, they are discredited as someone "else" would have obviously noticed that... or that's crazy... this is my life story... i notice what everyone around me does not, it has become... easy to me. this is where i thought i could help out here as i don't even know these people... and have never followed this type of case before... i heard "no trace" and jumped in to prove that wrong... there is always something like minded folk miss because anything that goes against their current frame of mind is immediately dismissed.
sorry for the wall of text... people took the time to hear me out, no matter how far fetched, just wanted to take the time to say a little about who this nobody was that was rattling the cage....
peace
Your work was much appreciated. :tyou:
Google probably suggests Johnston because it is pretty much the only road with bike lanes around but the bike lane is a joke.
  • #248
Not only that, but Lauren didn't have a bike
As far as the cameras at the funeral home, see Grammi new messages...
I also think the poster Billiam was pretty adamant that the funeral home had cameras. (I have no idea if they do or don't.)
I can't find anywhere that the truck traveling in the opposite direction has been ruled out and that it is different than the truck that traveled in the same direction as MS. I only can find that the truck with bed cover was ruled out. Therefore, the image on AMW is also ok, b/c it's the same truck. Right?? My head is spinning as well..
Please go to the http://www.findmickeynow.com and you will see which trucks are ruled out. AMWanted should have known about this website by now; as well as the Lafayette local paper for goodness sake.
I'm in bed with the flu and the word "truck" is literally making my stomach wretch and now the LS truck is causing more confusion...ahhhh!
I don't know either:maddening:. Is that Mickey's bike in back?
/sarc
You see why we shouldn't post MORE white trucks?
THE POLICE ONLY WANT THE WHITE TRUCK IN FRONT OF CIRCLE K, AND THAT IS THE ONLY PHOTO OF THE WANTED TRUCK THEY HAVE RELEASED.
THE OTHER TWO PHOTOS ARE OF THE TRUCK WITH THE BED-COVER THAT HAS BEEN CLEARED
Ahem. OK, let me get some tea with lemon. My voice hurts :sick:
I'm not questioning you, but how do we know this? I swear someone reported that they knew without a doubt there were cameras there.
I spoke with one of my best friends who works for mcfh. They don't have cams.
Was gone for a few hours, did my best to read everything. When I see the .gif it seems so clear to me that it is her under the truck. But then I think, why would LE release that!? Unless at the time that they released it, they didn't know? But what really bothers me about the .gif that doesn't really let me ignore it is that the front tire of the truck doesn't seem to be connecting to the road??
She would have texted them to see if they were there. She wouldn't have just swung by. That's something MY generation might have done, because we didn't have the cell-phones.
They were all at Mel's at 1:30 ish, so I would have scootched by, me. Especially if it was on my way home.
Your work was much appreciated. :tyou:
Thank goodness you took the time to look. I am sorry you and your wife were so affected by what you saw, but you should be commended...
I grew up in Lafayette on the side of town close to where Mickey lived. My best friend lived in Saint Streets area very close to the intersection in question. In middle school and high school, I often rode my bike from my house to his. So I would have been taking routes very similar to Mickey. I would NEVER take Johnston. It would be much longer. There are more traffic lights. The road surface was often rough. There are bike lanes in places, but I never felt safe riding down Johnston. Also my understanding is that Mickey rode on sidewalks when she could.
BBM nothing I've read (or seen) has given me the sense she would prefer riding on the sidewalk. Why do you think she would?
Also, I read somewhere (I'd have to search to find it again) that Johnston had some bike lanes (possibly new since you lived in that area) though from what I gathered they were less than optimal. They certainly don't show in google street view and, as you said, it doesn't look like a street I'd want to bike on.
Agree, I don't think she was ready to call it a night!
