100% confirmed there is no video from Martin and Castille. Like I stated before they dont even have cameras. They said they wish they did have some and couldve possibly caught something. LE have also gone by and asked, but sadly they have no cameras and cant be of any help.

But thats not to say theres not video from somewhere NEAR there. Trying to find any other cameras in the area.

A.C.I. - you are definitely verifying that you personally looked at the funeral home with your own eyes and saw no cameras.... that's what I'm reading.

Soooo... a thought for other posters - was it wise, last night, to take the word of a note by an unknown poster, just saying they had an "LE" source that there was footage on the funeral-home cameras.... even after laffytaffy posted that her friend told here there were no cameras?

It seems that posters took "grammiof4" at face value, with unsourced information, after the police said that Mickey was not seen after the Circle K, and after a friend of a funeral-home employee said there were no cameras. And then we wasted hours going in a circle about that. Maybe it was a bit premature to value one unsourced piece of info over two sourced pieces of info?

I believe A.C.I., because he seems to be gathering a lot of direct facts. I'm going to go up there myself later to jot down all camera locations and make a map, and when I come back and tell y'all there are no cameras on the funeral home, I hope that that appaerent red herring can be laid to rest.

Wodalo, are you still convinced it's Micke's bike under the truck, even after seeing the road repair? If so, are you willing to share the other enhanced photos you have? Thanks.

A piece of valid sleuthing for folks to investigate is whether the bike could possibly have retained enough buoyancy to have not completely and immediately sunk to the bottom immobile, before arriving at the location it was found. I did some Internet searching on the buoyancy of bikes, and found statements from bike enthusiasts that some bikes, depending upon weight and tire size, do retain some buoyancy. How much buoyancy Mickey's bike may have retained is not known, but could be important, especially if the back tire was off the rim but the innertube was not popped. The combination of strong currents in the Pilot Channel, buoyancy, and the water resistance of the spokes, etc., raise the question of how far the bike may have traveled downstream from a drop point. Someone here with access to a bike like Mickey's, a Schwinn Cutter, and a swimming pool, could do some key sleuthing here.

I found some internet comments about the buoyancy of bikes as well. I guess the bottom line is that a bike COULD float. A swimming pool would be a worthy start. But, if the bike tumbled in the current, I don't think a pool could replicate that. You need a wave pool or something similar.

Less realistic option. You could take a similar bike out to the channel, tie a line to the frame, and toss it in. You could feel if it is being pulled downstream.

Saw with my very own eyes, and personally spoke to the funeral directors.

So, is your theory of the bike possibly being thrown in up further still in play, in your own mind? Or do you think it was tossed right there at the spot off the rocks where they found it?

It is not settled in my mind.

As I said, the water level - whether it rose or fell, it a key piece of missing info to be sleuthed. As well the possible buoyancy of the bike needs to be checked.

I realize that the "floating bike theory" is a long shot, but I would like to see it eliminated - because then, you either have a boat dropping it under the bridge, a car throwing it off the brige, or someone throwing it off the bank.

I would like to start eliminating variables. In math, that makes the problem easier to solve.

If I can eliminate my own theory, I will be happy.

At this point, I don't have enough information to eliminate the floating-bike theory - no, I don't.

Sure, the bike probably sank quickly. But it may not have, based on the 'net research I did, especially if the rear tube was not popped.

It seems to me like someone (or some people) are intentionally signing up to this forum to give us false information about what so & so said to them or about how they or their friend or someone they know saw other footage by LE that hasn't been released. If this is so.. I wonder what their objective is?

Been around here for years and yes it happens in every case sadly . Famous name in here is Trolls or attention seekers. But we have to take the ones looking to help fine any Missing person and with good intentions in their hearts with the bad ones. IMHO

I want to qualify myself as a "new member".
I live in NY, and worked with a young man that went to school with lauren spierer.

lauren spierer - Google Search

He spoke about the case when it first happened, hence my interest.

This could be anyone's child. Growing up in NY, I was "street smart". My son went to college in Ohio. I taught him to always be aware of your surroundings, and be alert.

I do not agree with the gif images posted. If there was an accident, there would have been evidence. Clear evidence, I could be wrong--but seems like a distraction to me. MHO.

Hi Bunny, I don't live that far from you apparently lol. We are all here because we care, and I also followed and am still attempting to follow the Lauren Spierer case although nothing is really new on it, and it's such a shame. Her parents and sister have to be beside themselves at this point and it's no wonder they came out and said that they think she is deceased. The boys lawyered up and bam, no more talking or answering questions.

I also think I saw something under the truck, it may be a play of light, a road work bump or whatever, I see something. Reality tells me that if it were what I think it is, the picture wouldn't have been released, that's the only problem that I have with it. It's the rumors of some people who have signed up lately that I'm most worried about, not that particular picture and what i think I see.

Chickenfried, not sure if you are aware but someone has already made a timeline map with camera footage listed along with photos. the link is on the first page of the thread posted by megsy and in the media links and discussion forum.

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=203177667984633076348.0004c12cae7cc5698843c&msa=0#bmb=1

If this is not the kind of map you meant I apologise!

Thanks! I was going to use that map as a basis for making mine. The problem is that it does not list the locations of any of the cameras. That's why we need a better one.

Because they dont want the public to be too suspicious of anyone. Thats how vigilante mobs get started. And all the z71 drivers would be being harassed even more than they already are.

This may have been asked!
But!!!
Has anyone looked to see if this truck was near the Taco Bell when they were there?

I have spent many years taking care of those hit or run over by vehicles and I can assure you there would be lots of evidence left behind at the scene. Blood is not easily deleted.

I don't have a bike, though. Don't know if I have any friends who do.... the police need to do this, IMO - get a Schwinn Cutter. They know whether the back tire was popped. This is a job for LE.

I'm sorry everyone. I've been following and reading for a few days and thought this was a place for discussion and piecing together. I don't have any bad intent or desire to draw attention to myself. I'm just a concerned member of the community and someone praying for this poor girl to get home to her mom. You're right, I'm sure everyone has information that they've heard and maybe it was irresponsible for me to post that here. I'll go back to reading and praying and leave the crime solving to the professionals.

The headlines - so promising even a couple days ago - now read, if one googles about,

"Shunick case tips drop off"

"Volunteer effort hits dip"

"LPD scales back manned hours on Mickey Shunick tips line"

Nevertheless - good morning, all. Let this be the day.

'wfgodot, imo, the tips will increase, when & if LE, reveals more info to the public.
The first news articles stated that the volunteer search was being terminated 'indefinitely' is responsible for the sudden dip, imo. This statement was changed the next day to appear that it was only to give searchers day of rest.
IMO, TES, pulling up stakes and the scaling down of other operations by LE speaks volumes.

In order to believe that is Mickey under the truck, we would have to believe that our local LE, assisted by FBI, is either too stupid to have noticed a truck running over Mickey on the video, OR LE is so corrupt, they would not let her family know Mickey had been badly injured or killed.

It doesn't pass the sniff test, people. Have you ever run over anything? Like a branch? It makes a lot of noise as you drag it along the road!! We would have to believe this truck dragged Mickey along while the patrons of Circle K noticed NOTHING, that he left NO EVIDENCE of bike parts or blood on the road, that he then calmly, what? Drove off of her and loaded her up at a very, very busy intersection? And nobody noticed him loading up a dead or injured girl? AND her bike? AND all the pieces?

That is not Mickey under the truck! The road has a "hump" right there, there are words printed in reflective white paint right under the truck, and I believe that is what certain posters are seeing (and mis-seeing.)

I believe Wodalo means well, but I believe he is wrong in this case.

And that's not good because what's going to happen now, if there are no more searches, and there are no more pressers, the case is just going to dwindle down to nothing. I hope it doesn't happen.

Chicken Fried, please don't include the camera on University catching the pic of the obsolete white truck near the cemetery...nor the same with Olds. (That have been ruled out) It will only start the confusion of the trucks again, IMO. Tho...I'm not so sure it won't happen again with just the map.

Whether the bike was dropped by boat on from the land is moot in my thinking. If there is white paint on the bike, it puts more verification on the white truck theory and the pics released by LE. How can you link a boat to the bike? You can't unless you find the person first. IMO,JMO, etc.

It might take a number of trials, but you might also be able to figure approximately where the boat would have dumped the bike for it to end up where it did. Then you could ask the locals if anyone saw a boat at that location. If so, when?

If can rule OUT a water approach, then we can focus more on land. If we can rule IN a water appraoch, then they need to be looking for a Z71 that put in a boat down at Butte la Rose or other launch point that would allow upstream access to Whiskey Bay.

IMO, it does matter to sort out a water approach.... it would waste resources to look for a boat when it can be ruled out, but it would impede finding Mickey if a boat can be ruled in and there are no resources applied.
