No way to know. No time stamps doesn't help, either. We don't even know if the abductor drove this truck.

I would like to know how they know it's the same truck. It's possible that two different vehicles crossed paths. Especially with a common vehicle.

Way to go Artis! No new developments, so you went out and found one. Nice work!

It's not a new development. It's just clearing up a misunderstanding and wrong assumptions. No biggie. I've always felt that if you don't know something, ASK.

Does that mean there were only 2 vehicles of interest to begin with?? Now I'm really confused because it was reported that they cleared 2 out of the 3 vehicles.

There were 4 pictures of vehicles released to the public. One was the old car and three photos showed white pickup trucks.

Time stamps would make a HUGE difference...for all we know the pic we've been looking at all along was actually taken second...could of seen mickey head on, liked what they saw, and turned around. Makes it more likely an abduction than anything else, IMO.

i've laid off this b/c i was so confused on whether it was or wasn't :-/

Either way, on the pic we thought wasn't the VOI, but now is:::I always thought it looked like the tailgate was down?! I don't look to hard b/c I will start seeing things...but looking at it normal (how the LE released it)...i thought it looked down or not there, but the picture we've been looking at all along seems to have the tail-gate up...IMO!

You can see the white inside the back end...which makes it appear to me that the tailgate is down:

http://www.findmickeynow.com/mickey2.jpeg

It's a horrible picture due to reflection and how the light blows out the pixels. I mentioned to the office on the phone something about the photos being enhanced and more closely examined and he said that's being done or was done.

Since it's so obviously the same kind of truck, about the only distinguishing feature from it's left side are the chrome hub caps and that large chrome (or black) gas cap. It would take professional software to see more.

Yes, if only we had time stamps. The only way to tell that there wasn't too much time between both frames is by looking at the cars pumping gas at the Circle K. LE knows the exact timeframe and is most-likely withholding this information on purpose.

ATTENTION - IMPORTANT

I got so sick of this debate about the white truck that I just called Lafayette PD. The white truck on St Landry, GOING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS IS THE SAME TRUCK. The truck on W University is the one that was eliminated.

The press release was poorly worded <modsnip>! Both pics on St Landrey are the same!

I informed them about the Facebook pic. Could be a coincidence but maybe not. At least they know, now, and can check it out.

Who did you speak with at Lafayette PD? One of the detectives assigned to Mickey's case?

I'm starting to agree with those who believe they aren't really interested in the public's help id'ing the truck as they are not trying too hard to be sure we have all we need to help them.

Is it just me, or does it look like the tailgate is missing?? If someone else has ask this, I am sorry for repeating. I am a newbie.

Driving behind Mickey, then hit her/stop and pick her up/whatever happened... 2 minutes doesn't seem like a long enough time.

What if we reverse the order of the pictures. Truck drives past Mickey, then turns around to follow her. They could do that in a 2 minute time frame.

I know this has been mentioned, but there are several things with this case that bother me:
-As someone else mentioned, where are the fishermen who found her bike? Fishermen are rarely tight-lipped about their catches, so why now? Why even to other fishermen? What if that's just the story we are getting when what really happened was an anonymous tip? The police just told everyone it was a fisherman when it could have been anyone including the abductor himself/herself?
-Why has nothing additional been mentioned about her cell phone calls, texts, within the last hours before her disappearance? Seems like if she knew the person who took her, then contact would have been made possibly in the last hours before she disappeared. The last text BW said she got not long before leaving his house concerns me greatly.
Then again, maybe those calls/texts are the reason the LE dismissed the Indiana police in a possible connection to Lauren.
-Why does the investigation seem at a standstill since that kid from BB got interviewed? Seems to me, a lot has fallen apart since that interview. Equusearch left the case and the Shunicks hired a PI.
-I realize the LE cannot continue to give us updates on the case, but you would think it would be in their interest to keep us engaged. They should want to have people calling things in and not forgetting about Mickey. Seems to me they are just letting the story die slowly. If they already have everything they need, this would make sense. However, last time I checked, Mickey is still missing.
-Have the LE attempted to interview people who were at the bar where she went that night? If this was a stalker, then there is a good chance he/she may have been there. Maybe if people who were there thought back to the night, they might remember someone creepy, whether watching Mickey or not.
-Who gave the LE the tip that led to them conducting the search the other night that didn't start until after dark? The sonar results would have been available to them before that time, so in my mind, it was a tip that led them out there. While the water clarity means that night or day doesn't really make a difference, but money wise, it is more expensive to conduct that type of search at night. Who was this individual whose word caused the LE to have such a huge operation in the middle of the night?
It is my understanding, & I may be wrong: sonar & wood don't mix

She was taking the exact route that google maps recommends if you are on a bike. It factors bike lanes, car traffic, etc., into the route and many avid bikers use it.

I just got back from a walkthrough of the Circle K to St. Louis St. area, t get the facts for myself, instead of reading them here second hand. I learned some very interesting and alarming things. I will be putting together a cmprehensive post, but it's going t take me some time. I want to put it together with some maps to try to end the confusion here, and upload some photos. It is a good amount of material, and will take awhile, and my right hand is not up to it at this moment.

I will post it all at once, hopefully tonight, maybe tomorrow A.M., so as to avoid confusion.

I will give y'all one thing now to discuss. I rode around with a security guard at the closed Our Lady of Lourdes hospital for half an hour, and the guard saw Mickey all the time and talked with her and knew her route. I will be calling the PI to make sure he has interviewed the guard.

The guard said that Mickey did not go all the way to Coliseum Rd. at the dead end of St. Landry. She said that Mickey turned left on St. Julien, right on Johnston, and right on Cajundome.

Maybe that information has been printed before, and maybe that's what her family has said - I honestly don't know and don't know where to find the link.

But a guard who saw Mickey says her route home included cutting over to Johnston St., using St. Julien St., because the guard used to see her turning left there after passing the hospital.

That's all for now, but I thought I'd give y'all that to start. The rest of what I found is outside the box, alarming, and, as a local, it makes sense. More on that later.

Many aspects of the story have been a little unclear just because of imprecise language. LPD and the press flubbed that by not making it clear that the truck on University was the one that LPD described as having a bed cover. Amazing what you can find out by asking ;-)

It certainly is amazing! Thanks for clearing it up for all of us!

Any way someone could make a gif of all three pics (MS, DWTIQ heading the same way, then DWTIQ coming back?

Also, does seeing DWTIQ on next camera down St. Landry but not MS rule out the possibility that it is involved? I was born in Lafayette but have not lived there since I was an infant nor do I go there often enough even though I'm now only an hr away in BR to know the streets well (and will be honest - have not studied the maps enough to be able to tell myself)...I suppose the answer to that probably depends on length of time between directions DWTIQ travelled? Just wondering if he did indeed follow her into the residential area nearby if there was any way to get back out to main thoroughfare (I-10 - whiskey bay) without passing the camera again. Anyone?

right! and if I made the observance of the tailgate, I'm sure a professional has!

Anyone know why the FBI became involved so quickly (usually they take awhile to get them involved it seems)?

Does that mean there were only 2 vehicles of interest to begin with?? Now I'm really confused because it was reported that they cleared 2 out of the 3 vehicles.

There were five photos released to the public. Three of white trucks, the one of the Olds and another of a blur. The question was if any of the three white truck photos were the same vehicle. Their were assertions made the truck on St Landrey, going in the opposite direction of Mickey, was the same as the one on University. I never felt that was right because the one on Uni doesn't seem to have that large, dark gas cap.
