I've been following these threads from the beginning. I'm from Lafayette but now live in NOLA, don't know Mickey but have plenty friends-of-friends-of-friends connections (because that's how Laf is) ...

Yes he graduated high school on the Sunday of the weekend she went missing. When she missed the graduation, that's when the family knew something was up.

(Sorry to respond to this so late, I've been waiting for mod approval.)

Hi ashola Welcome!
Thanks for the reply!

I thought he graduated but someonecalled him the little guy!

Welcome again and post away!

Are most people assuming the truck went straight to WB with the bike? I don't. (Just speculating.)

I don't know lol, it just struck me that if the cams were on and they did record something, it could be seen. I'm not ever certain that the truck would have gone immediately out of town, but it's a possibility.

You are correct. Most traffic cams are just to observed traffic patterns and conditions and don't record.

Then on what building would the cam need to have been to catch the old car and the other white truck on University before the Cemetery?

Its JMO that if people want there to be cameras and feel secure etc. they shouldn't leave their security up to a bunch of old men in suits arguing over jurisdictions, zoning laws, permissible use, funding, maintenance etc.

If you want to be secure, and you want a camera....put cameras on your property. Encourage everyone you know to do the same. If more people had cameras on their homes and businesses instead of relying on ****** city cams for "security" we would most likely know where Mickey is already and/or what actually happened.

Well that answers mamamia's question then. Since no one suspected anything amiss until the next morning I doubt someone was watching that cam the previous night for a suspicious white truck carrying a bike in its bed (assuming DWTIQ had anything to do with her disappearance)...And surely if the cam does record LE would have already looked at the footage and found what there was to find (if anything)...but I doubt it records so it is a moot point.

Im actually not sure. I never pinpointed the exact spot. But it definitely wasn't from a traffic cam.

That one does... learned that the hard way

Glad you brought this up ashola_nola. I was just pondering whether the bike was disposed of first, enroute to the abductor's safe haven or after. I would like to hear other opinions on this.

This just dawned upon me:

Years ago (perhaps 10 yrs.?) there was a coed murdered on the UL campus. Was it ever solved?

Seems like I remember there being a female roommate being a suspect...but I don't recall if that case was ever solved, and if so, whodunnit, etc.

I don't think we are assuming anything about when the bike was dumped. It was not found till 7-8 days after she disappeared. The police said they think it was dumped the same morning she vanished, but it is not clear why they believe that.

I have two different thoughts here.

One is, if she was run over, or attacked, or wrecked on her own and some small pieces on her bike came off, is it possible that a street sweeper came by and picked up the pieces later that night?

Another thing, I read the article in the Advertiser today and something Charlie said stuck in my mind. "Could it be someone I know and dated since we look so similar?"

Makes me wonder if Charlie has any crazy ex boyfriends or enemies that would want to cause harm to her.

I don't even know if it's yet safe to assume that the abductor was the one who dumped the bike.

For all we know, the abductor could have grabbed MS, and someone completely different than the abductor subsequently helped his/herself to an abandoned bike on the side of the street. Then once they realized the significance of the bike, they panicked and decided to dispose of it.

The building with the parking spaces right in front of it that we can see on the pic of the old car and the white truck on University houses a company called Louisiana Video; I think it sells or installs surveillance cams, etc.

I have the java plug in but not working for me. Let me know what you see.

There is a WHITE TRUCK just down the street on the left. Just parked or sitting there. It is obscured by the building in the foreground, so can't tell if it is a 4-door.

And it should be noted the time is wrong. So the picture we have most likely just has the corrected time stamp printed at the top, thus ending that argument ;)
