And so the bike ends up being found HERE, by sheer coincidence....

The icky perp could pm you!!! Please just do your research online and find a nice, safe place to stay. I'm only saying this as a husband and father. I would not want my daughter or wife to drive 8 hours alone and stay in a hotel alone.

Just one thing - if you don't know Lafayette, don't pick the places right off I-10 - a little shady = go further south :-)

Yeah, 1545 would be 3:45 PM.

You have painted (Google Mapped!) such a clearer picture for us Chicken Man, I thank you so much.
Your theory does hold water, no pun intended.

I agree, but there are a couple reasons. First, the river is making a broad sweeping turn such that the normal current would push debris to the out edge. In this case the east bank. Second, the nature of the river bottom around the interstate bridge might act to alter the currents in that area. Creating a trap for floating debris. Those two dynamics might tend to aggregate debris to the place where the bike was found. The police report did say the bike was found amongst other trash/litter. That trash could be garbage from the locals using that spot. Or it could be evidence of the action of the river.

Thank you for that cogent explanation!!! Well-writtan and to the point! I'm going to save it. :-)

I know this sounds off-the-wall and odd, but have there been any arsons in the area in the past 6 months or so?

Some serial killers start out by setting fires.

Huh??? There was Mack/Volvo dealership off Breaux Bridge exit?

Where there is one for the date Mickey went missing though

Only reason I can think of for no report is that the last day of the Spring session ended May 5th. Students living on campus may have had thru the following week to get moved out of the dorms. In other words ... not much activity on campus :waitasec:. I agree it is odd though.

Thank you JurysOut, but no need for fretting.
I have traveled alone so very many times, live in the middle of the city and I natrually watch my back all the time. Also, I have a friend who wants to go with me and she has special training and skills...and a permit to carry(along with the education and experience to deserve the permit, and a button next to her Lt. badge that says she is an expert marksman). The only thing to fret over is snakes!!! Hate them. But will get past that because this is important and I want to help find Mickey.

Have you looked at all into crimes on campus? I believe I read they have their own LE. If a crime occurred on campus would it not necessarily have been reported to local LE?

I am with you on looking for other crimes possibly related and leading up to Mickey going missing. Makes all the sense.
JMO

There is a campus police department. Certain things are handled strictly by them, and in other situations they work with LPD or pass things completely to LPD. I don't know all the specifics. The only situation I ever had to go to them about as a student, was something involving a non-student, so they did bring in LPD and it went to city court. I guess it all depends on the nature of the crime, exactly where it occurred, whether one or both parties or students/faculty/staff, etc.

KATC is no longer leading the news with the search for Mickey. :( I hope LE gets a break/big lead SOON.

David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) set many fires and kept very extensive records of each one. It is motivated by excitement, possibly for attention, or even sexual perversion.

Many adult serial stalkers tend to set fires too, oddly enough.

The semester was over. It ended the week of 5/6.

Check it in a few days..they are slow about updating. I used to look at in when my daughter was at UL.

My stance is still, It was someone she knew, and/or someone that is *to be trusted*
