I think I have a future serial killer next door. He dropped my dogs leash on a walk when other large dogs were around to see what would happen. He was setting fires in the front yard and filming them. All night and day he plays violent video games and cusses like a Teamster under my bedroom window-derogatory name calling of women and different ethnicities.

He is going to be 17 next week.

I'm not paranoid, either, just something is off with him and as a former teacher I know kids.

That's pretty scary!

so, this is my first time posting, but i have been reading this thread for over a week now, and have been following mickeys case on face book since i heard about it on the first Monday she went missing. i have this feeling that something really really horrible is going on here, i have never ever been interested in a missing person case, and this one i am obsessed about. as i think everyone else is here too. i really believe one of two things must have happened.
1. for whatever reason she willing got into the truck with this person. that's why it was so easy to get her and the bike in the truck at the same time.

2. there had to be 2 people in that truck for this to physically have happen. one person alone could have not been able to kidnap mickey throw her in the truck than run back out to get the bike, without her being able to get free.

unless of course one guy purposely bumped her bike with his truck which would be reason for him to get out of the truck. say im sorry let me take you to the hospital, he helps mickey into the truck. gets her bike than just takes off with her.

but I'm still trying to figure out. why would someone dump the bike. and not with mickey. if they were scared of getting caught. than why take the risk of publicly dumping the bike where he could possibly get caught. sorry just have had all of this on my mind for a while now !!!

One think I noticed in the pics taken near where the bike was found is that there is a lot of graffiti. That leads me to believe that kids hang out there at night and drink, like we used to do at a rock quarry here in Alabama when I was young many years ago. So that's just another possibility...the perp could be someone who spent time hanging out at WB at night (maybe even years ago when he was young).

I am very interested in garages where Mickey went missing. Specifically garages on houses, not parking garages for corporate/businesses.

Interesting that the theft and hit and run were at the same address on Congress.

That's Cajun Field. It's where the carnival workers' trucks and campers were beginning to arrive for state fair

But the campus is never completely shut down. Even when there aren't any classes going on, there are still some people living on campus, and people working on campus.

Oh, I know. I just meant since classes ended there will be a considerable dip in calls to the campus PD.

True and I was looking through the reports and noticed they patrol Girard Park which is always active as well.

"Simple rape" is a horrid phrase.

Yes, it certainly is, I had to just stop at that point it pi....ed me off! I'll look more tomorrow.

One time I spent a couple days in the slammer because a check for a no headlight/no bumper ticket after a wreck got lost by the clerks and so I had a warrant I didn't know about. Certain prisoners took delight smearing their green bologna sandwiches on the walls, just to vandalize the place. That took me way back in time ... lol

Chicken Man, your hoopties are starting to scare me a tad!

This is exactly why rape victims feel marginalized.

Legal language needs to crawl out of the 19th century.

Louisiana Simple Rape Law

LSA-R.S. 14:43

A. Simple rape is a rape committed when the anal, oral, or vaginal sexual intercourse is deemed to be without the lawful consent of a victim because it is committed under any one or more of the following circumstances:

(1) When the victim is incapable of resisting or of understanding the nature of the act by reason of a stupor or abnormal condition of mind produced by an intoxicating agent or any cause and the offender knew or should have known of the victim's incapacity.

(2) When the victim, through unsoundness of mind, is temporarily or permanently incapable of understanding the nature of the act and the offender knew or should have known of the victim's incapacity.

(3) When the female victim submits under the belief that the person committing the act is her husband and such belief is intentionally induced by any artifice, pretense, or concealment practiced by the offender.

B. Whoever commits the crime of simple rape shall be imprisoned, with or without hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, for not more than twenty-five years.

IMO, dumping something off the Whiskey Bay exit is about as generic of a dumping spot you can imagine. Before DTL, everyone knew Whiskey Bay as a good place to dump something; almost as cliche as dumping a body in the desert. After DTL, this spot became infamous. I say dumping something there would not point to much of anything, except that he wanted a generic spot known to locals "as the perfect place to dump a body". And that he would know the location's reputation with the locals.

I thought the exact same thing. How archaic and out of touch and misogynist.

Simple and aggravated are adjectives to describe lots of crimes: battery, burglary, rape. The connotation is not meant to mean "insignificant", just lesser of the two. Aggravated crimes are more serious. Weird terminology, perhaps, but I would not say misogynistic.
