Feeling hopeless right now.

I almost can't wait to work tonight to take my mind off Mickey for awhile.

Need chocolate, might help.

I guess I came in during the end of something that was posted that wasnt allowed. I asked "what" and post was deleted. Sounds like I should come back later

Could somebody point me to the rules concerning the handling on rumors, please.

I have looked through "Rules: Etiquette and Information" and the "Terms of Service" pages. I can't find anything. I also did a keyword search and "rumor" just comes up once. And that is referring specifically to linking to social networks like Facebook.

Go read and thank the opening 3 posts, okay? Please "thank" it so we will know you have read it.

Bottom line: if it isn't posted with a link to a doc or MSM article or it is not posted by a member listed on the verified posters list, it is considered RUMOR.

Speculation is permitted upon what we know from those sources however no wild speculation w/o a factual basis. And be very careful because speculation can quickly spiral into accusations. We don't accuse anyone here w/o information based on FACTS.

I find it very sad and disheartening that MS is no longer the top news story on either station here.

From what I've gathered in person, the effort is not exactly cohesive....

I hate to hear that. I wish it were.
I know LE has a hard time accepting outside help a lot of the time but the goals are the same for both: Locate Mickey Shunick. Investigate what happened to her. Give her family answers.

  • #327
For some reasons, I don't find it off. Either LE resources have dwindled, the family is unsatisfied with the investigation progress, or people picking up possible slack, perhaps...

I guess that's what I meant - the family being dissatisfied with the investigation. It must be awfully frustrating.

A.C.I, so you think R had an alibi that passed the sniff test and if they processed his family's Z71, it was already cleared also?

surely if it were the breaux bridge kid they'd have him in their custody. his alibi must have panned out. i really don't think it's him. poor kid must be hating life right now

I think families may believe, and it may be true, that some people will talk to a PI who will not talk with police. And they may tend to believe the info they give will be kept confidential, whether that part is true or not, more than believe LE when they say so. JMO

IMO...just my opinion......if the family were comfortable with le...they wouldn't hire a private investigator. I don't think confidence in le is very high right now. There's not even a cohesive effort amongst members of the same le agency IMO.......I am close and I feel unsafe! Straight up!

Got more confidence in our friend a.c.I........other people have said he's their hero. I have not heard the same about le.

I think most families hire a PI!

That's depressing. I've been searching Google News all day and there's just nothing new on Mickey. Just the 1 Advertiser article from this morning.

LE needs to give the media and the public something to report/discuss. The media can only go so far with interviews from Mickey's family and no investigative information or updates from LE.

I know this is a long shot because I am not fimiliar with the process but I know that the offshore workers usually drive to an area to be flown out into the gulf. Being that the wt in question has not stepped forward could be check these lots?

Either his alibi panned out and/or there's not enough (or any) direct or circumstantial evidence connecting him to this case.

MS was the 6th story on KLFY - In a nutshell they are still looking for a newer model Z-71 white truck (call the LPD tip line or PI John Abdella)
Volunteer search headquarters at Blackham still up and running.

That could be anywhere from Intracoastal City all the way to Fourchon and gulf points in between ....even towards Texas at Sabine, including PHI docks.

I think if my child/family member went missing, I'd hire a PI day 1. LE doesn't work for the family directly nor do they have to share anything with the family. Most do keep in contact with the victim's family but as far as I know, they don't "have" to. A PI works directly for the Shunick's. He has a vested interest in helping them get answers. I really, really think I would hire one if it were me.

Go look at the Rules of Service and show me the rule that applies to what you are saying here.

The document is long, but "rumor" shows up just once.
Go to the bottom of this page, and click on forum leaders, then ask a mod directly. Thx

Knowing the truth is worth whatever it takes, even if it's not prosecutable.

Might be something to the somebody wont talk, besides the perp, issue. Not trusting LE, not wanting to get dragged thru the mud. They might tell you its all anon but trust me folks it aint.
