I think most families hire a PI!
JMO

PI's can devote their entire time to a single case and are paid well to do so. LE cannot do that. Thats why most people hire us

Go look at the Rules of Service and show me the rule that applies to what you are saying here.

The document is long, but "rumor" shows up just once.
I'm just saying...call MSm! If MSm says it.......apparently its Gospel.

where did everyone go?

  • #346
Can't think about anything else right now.

That could be anywhere from Intracoastal City all the way to Fourchon and gulf points in between ....even towards Texas at Sabine, including PHI docks.

If the WT was heading to go to an offshore job at that time, which IS possible, then it is possible they may still be offshore and not know what's going on, right?

I just want to say a great big THANK YOU to all the mods that work so hard around the clock to make Websleuths work. Also want to thank wfgodot and A.C.I for their hard work as well.

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone for all the time and effort they are putting into this case, especially chicken and a.c.i. :rocker:

Next, I see several mentions in previous threads of drivers and MS potentially trying to avoid the DUI checkpoint on Johnston that night. Per the link below, that checkpoint wasn't until the next night. (May 19th/early May 20th.)

I think if my child/family member went missing, I'd hire a PI day 1. LE doesn't work for the family directly nor do they have to share anything with the family. Most do keep in contact with the victim's family but as far as I know, they don't "have" to. A PI works directly for the Shunick's. He has a vested interest in helping them get answers. I really, really think I would hire one if it were me.

Yes but the family was unhappy with the quickness or lack there of. In which le responded to her being reported missing.

Why would you? Do you doubt le's capabilities? You don't trust the <modsnip>.......awwww. YOU NOT ALONE CHER!

I BELIEVE THATS WHAT I WAS SAYING OR AT LEAST MEANT BY MY POST........

Exactly and the smartest thing to do!

Exactly! and i do think this is what i think happened!
she was stopped car pulls up along side her asks a question.
Bam! gone in a heartbeat!
If she held on to her bike and screamed they couldnt easily grab her and the bike.
this is what they teach in self def classes if your on a bike hold on to it and scream bloody murder they might give up! Someone might hear you

Due to the damage to the back of her bike, I'm inclined to think she was rammed from behind and knocked off. That gave the perp opportunity to grab her. She would've been dazed and unable to grab onto her bike.

I don't believe MS was a victim of an accidental hit-and-run (or hit and stash-the-body). If someone accidentally hit her and panicked, they would leave Mickey and the bike on the ground and take off before they could be seen.

IMO, there's a reason someone didn't want LE to find the bike. A hit-and-run driver (usually someone who's been drinking) might take the bike if they had the presence of mind, realizing that the paint from their vehicle and damage to their vehicle could be matched to the bike. But, I can't see a hit-and-run driver putting a (likely) bleeding body in their vehicle and then driving around to find a disposal site.

Possibly, it began as an accident and when the perp saw that MS was okay but shaken, decided to abduct her and dispose of the bike to hide evidence linking the bike to his vehicle. IMO, this was someone she didn't know. It was a crime of opportunity.

Does anybody else agree on the t-boy memorial thing in the window?

Like I said earlier, I don't believe we could see a decal through two possibly tinted windows. But, I have to LOL at "t-boy" b/c the non-locals probably don't get it.

My husband works offshore. I find it almost impossible they wouldn't know. They do have phones and Internet access on the rigs. Yes, com can go down but I've never heard of it being down for 17 days. Ever.

:floorlaugh:the whole truck SCREAMS t-boy to me!

Did we ever come to the conclusion that it is an actual 4 door crew cab or a 4 door extended cab?

bbm: Just jumping off from here (since it was me that suggested in a previous thread that maybe bike had been dismantled and was perhaps transported/dumped in a large container, maybe a cooler).

I have no idea if this is a viable thought but if you removed the hand grips from the handlebars, are the exposed ends of the bike frame open? Would this allow for water to fill the bike frame in efforts to try to sink it?

I found multiple cameras today on Johnston that have yet to be checked by LE or the owners. Also some close to her home not checked. Working on seeing all the video today

OMG. Over two weeks out and these cameras have not been checked? See, this says that LE is NOT doing their job. Sorry to all of the establishment and LE lovers out there but this is INEXCUSABLE. How hard would it have been to assign officers to walk every street, in a one mile radius, and ask every business for their video?
