I do not think by hiring a PI it means they do not think LE is doing enuff!
I think u do whatever you can in hopes it will bring your child home!

Next, I see several mentions in previous threads of drivers and MS potentially trying to avoid the DUI checkpoint on Johnston that night. Per the link below, that checkpoint wasn't until the next night. (May 19th/early May 20th.)

I don't know how they do it in Lafayette, but here in my hometown, when they have a DUI checkpoint planned, they are required to put it in the newspaper beforehand. [ which seems stupid, but whatever.]

Anyhow, once they publish the date and location , all of the 20 yr olds text each other with the warnings. So if you know thetre is going to be one on Saturday night on Kanan, you would probably avoid that street all weekend long. Jmo

Yes but the family was unhappy with the quickness or lack there of. In which le responded to her being reported missing.

It's not that I don't trust the police. Yes, some things currently happening in LPD concern me but not to the point where I think they are all untrustworthy, like the lawsuit being filed against Chief Craft.... But that shows there are some great cops in the department. They are taking a stand against their chief. That's courageous. I would just need someone definitely keeping my family as #1 Priority.

Due to the damage to the back of her bike, I'm inclined to think she was rammed from behind and knocked off. That gave the perp opportunity to grab her. She would've been dazed and unable to grab onto her bike.

I don't believe MS was a victim of an accidental hit-and-run (or hit and stash-the-body). If someone accidentally hit her and panicked, they would leave Mickey and the bike on the ground and take off before they could be seen.

IMO, there's a reason someone didn't want LE to find the bike. A hit-and-run driver (usually someone who's been drinking) might take the bike if they had the presence of mind, realizing that the paint from their vehicle and damage to their vehicle could be matched to the bike. But, I can't see a hit-and-run driver putting a (likely) bleeding body in their vehicle and then driving around to find a disposal site.

Possibly, it began as an accident and when the perp saw that MS was okay but shaken, decided to abduct her and dispose of the bike to hide evidence linking the bike to his vehicle. IMO, this was someone she didn't know. It was a crime of opportunity.

I don't believe the extent of the damage to the bike has been definitively reported.

There's been some conjecture that damage may have been incurred during the dumping of the bicycle.

Thus far, no evidence of an accident has been found to the best of my knowledge. I could be mistaken. I'm still in my office and missing a lot of posts.

I'm almost scared to ask a question but, just say she wasn't going home after all and whomever she was going to meet obviously had bad intentions and damaged the bike by hand to make it look like a hit and run

there is a slang term for nicknames that is very common here. You put a "T" in front of the kid's name. i.e. T-bob.

it comes from our french speaking ancestors..t is short for petite. so it started as a way to nickname someone..i.e. little bob, usually a younger male in the family.


we now refer to "t-boys" because they have their own stereotypes..
driving huge lifted trucks
hunting/fishing/frogging/mudding (country boys in general)
usually not the brightest guys around
teen-twenty-somethings
lots use dip (chewing tobacco)
they got to citybar (or citybar maurice)(thats my lol for the locals)

Almost anything is possible at this point. I can buy into this. Also, dont be scared. They dont bite. Too hard.

OMG. Over two weeks out and these cameras have not been checked? See, this says that LE is NOT doing their job. Sorry to all of the establishment and LE lovers out there but this is INEXCUSABLE. How hard would it have been to assign officers to walk every street, in a one mile radius, and ask every business for their video?

Yeeeaaahh...so maybe this is why LE has been tight lipped.

Same way here. It was the 17th that KATC reported this checkpoint. Like you said, its not hard at all to figure out where one would be from personal experience. Being that they start at 9 pm, if you go out later than that and don't pass one, you know to take the same route home. Also, Facebook will blow up with the location, bartenders usually know, and even friends with relatives in law enforcement will know.

I don't trust my local police department. They are useless and incompetent. They know where the criminals are, but avoid those areas completely.

If my loved one were missing, I'd hire a P.I. BEFORE calling the police.

There could be no more clues and total silence and I would still not stop trying to figure this out. Really wish I was near to help instead of trying to figure out the few clues we have.

I really feel that it's quiet because they are close to catching them, close to having all the evidence needed, and feel sure Mickey's still alive and are trying to keep it that way. lease:
