Eh....there are men who like to pick up women for sex. It doesn't make them kidnappers or murderers....unless there is a part of her story I'm missing. Voluntary sex work is not as uncommon as you probably think it is.

So you are saying that the bicyclist that the man in the truck gave a ride to, is a sex worker?

Yesterday I looked into her taking a right onto St. John from Brashear and then coming out on St. Mary. There is a house on St. John with multiple surveillance cameras, but unfortunately they don't quite see the street or sidewalk and they only keep 7 days worth of footage anyway. So no help there.

Unchecked camera on Johnston st. being looked at today that DOES still have the footage from that night, so hopefully something comes from that.

Good, I hope that one was working. Did you check anywhere on University, if he would have come out of Cherry St, going towards Johnson?

If you have no close neighbors it would be much safer to bury her in his own backyard then risk being seen elsewhere.
Do police take their dogs through peoples backyards or is that an invasion of privacy?
As you can see from mamamia's pic, those houses are close, with not much space between. I can't remember if there was a rain & the ground was soft enough. God, I hate even thinking that... But we GRITS are, as has been said before, a chatty lot, we're also nosy too. Could that have been done without dogs, motion-sensing cameras from next-door neighbors or anything/anyone else not noticing? Especially in middle of night? sat night, along w/ Friday is party time, visit, hang-out time. Had to be people hanging around??

Question for a locals...

Where Mildred St. ends at Johnston... looking across Johnston is a guard rail. What is behind that guard rail?

Also, on Johnston between Albert and Lewis St. there is another guard rail with a drainage ditch below it. Has that area been searched?

I'm considering the other routes, and the possibility that somebody hit Mickey by accident and she went over the guard rail but her bike didn't. Person who hit her might dispose of the bike to dispose the evidence (like paint transfer).

Hmmm...regarding her phone - I wonder why they are saying here that the 1:31 call was the last time her phone was used... Did I imagine it or did BW say that she received a text before she left his house?

It was in a video interview BW made where he described in detail the events of their evening. This was one of the first, if not the first interviews BW made.
I distinctly remember him saying it was before she left and after the 1:31 phone call.
Will go look for the link.

It's physically impossible for a truck to hit someone on a bicycle and run over the person and the bicycle on the exact spot it hit the person/bicycle. The person and bicycle would have to be welded to the ground. The force of the impact would push the person and bicycle and would cause marks on the road if the truck actually ran over them.

Exactly! It's nonsensical. If hit from behind, Mickey would have probably gone right over the front of the handlebars...but if a vehicle overtook her, perhaps rolling down the window to chat to her, and knocked her sideways every so slightly, it would cause her to fall without much injury, but perhaps render her bike useless.

LE would need a search warrant, but to get a search warrant they need probable cause for the search.

Just imagine how much private property is NOT being searched...acres and acres of wooded areas and waterways that are private. IMO thats where the perp is more likely to leave evidence.

So you are saying that the bicyclist that this perv. offered a ride to, is a sex worker?

No. I thought he asked for sex though. That would lead me to believe that he was looking for someone for sex...

Why would he think that a young woman bicyclist would be a sex worker?

I suspect that may be one of the key clues they have, given that they have (to my knowledge, anyway) not identified the sender/recipient of that last text.

I know they have identified Ashley Says as having been on the last phone call which is logged, but I don't believe LE has identified that last texter/textee.

Wouldn't her carrier have the number from which the text was sent? That appears on my bill.

I guess he thought she was...

...not if he lived in a different area. We haven't actually determined that the perp lives in the Saints Streets. In areas where most of the residents are old people, no, no one would have noticed.

Why would he think that a young woman bicyclist would be a sex worker?

Because sex workers are regular people and look like any other person.

Why would he think that a young woman bicyclist would be a sex worker?

Well, why would someone in a truck offer a bicyclist a ride, during the middle of the day? And why would that bicyclist accept the ride? Could be that she was not riding her bike, but standing at/on a corner, waiting for something, and he misinterpreted....I don't think she's ever said why she accepted the ride.

Why does any old man think he has a chance of having sex with any young woman? I've worked in a bar and you'd be surprised how many guys try or at least make comments about it.

Was that ever made clear? There was a phone call. And then there was a text message.

From what I read on previous threads, the phone call was from Ashley.

Was the text message also from Ashley?

I have never seen it made clear regarding the last text message.

There was the 1:31 am phone call
and BW says there was a text after that prior to Mickey leaving his home that night.

No one has reported who that text was from.

Hiya, Peeps.

BW did say that a phone call and a text were received. He never said which one came first or last.

LE has stated that the phone call was the LAST ACTIVITY on Mickey's cell.

They have also stated that they went through her cell phone records and got no clues from them as to what subsequently happened to her. (I would take that to mean that neither the phone call or the text mentioned Mickey meeting up with anyone later.)

This is probably out of the norm of what everyone here has been talking about....but i think i read on here that she was at a pub or bar the nite before....wonder if she was talking to a band member . That time of nite they would be getting off work and she might have gotten in the truck with someone she had talked with that nite or the nite before.
That image from a few pages back..in the back window of the truck...could it be a music speaker. Band members take their equipment home sometimes after a gig.

iirc she said she was exhausted and not thinking clearly....
