Yep. I don't think it's a T-boy, a hard-leg, or a good old boy. I think it's a loner, a psycho. I also think he is skilled at blending in.

Me. Too.

That's why I think neighborhood. Maybe not the neighborhood of the last known image of MS, but an average neighbor no one would notice much about.

I've seen a lot of talk here that Lafayette changed so much after Katrina, but honestly, I don't get that. Lafayette wasn't some perfect city before 2005. When I was 18 in 1999 we would go out to the McKinley Street Strip and there had been stabbings and HUGE fights and shootings. When my older sister started going out in the early 90's there were the same things happening. I love Lafayette, but let's be realistic.

Yeah, I remember the Strip and all that. My cousin's friend got stabbed to death. But that was country-boy stuff. The new thuggery is different, IMO.

<modsnip> I find that the last 2 years, in particular, things have been sliding faster.

Let me ask you, do you think this was done by a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, or someone with just a dark side?
Dark side. I thought the Jeff Davis was a 'hard leg' Hunter/fisher due to his intimate knowledge of the area for his (how does one say this wretched thing?) disposal of the victims. But there are/were sooo many suspects floating in the air that it was hard to get a handle on type.

This brand new Z71 makes him feel a little better about his self esteem but I would be willing to say that the truck costs more than his residence...

  • #405
No, lol, they aren't under any obligation to do so, but more likely they would let him know. I may be wrong. I'll let you know if that happens, that I was wrong. I don't mind saying it.

I would hope they would keep the family involved. IMO, the Shunick's deserve to know since it's their personal hell being investigated.

Why would people from New Orleans be moving to Lafayette in the last two years? I just never noticed that there was some huge switch in crime rates, and neither did anyone else I know.

LOL, tell me why that is, why do people feel that their cars are most important than the homes they live in? I just don't understand that and it happens around here all the time. Just makes no sense to me. About the only way I can think like that is, whatever shows who you are on the streets is what matters to them, everything else that they can go inside a door and close it doesn't matter.

ACI, can you tell us where these cameras that weren't checked are located? So we can get an idea of the route Mickey may not have taken.

Brashear, St. John, Cherry, St. Mary and a several parts of Johnston past Mels Diner and along the recommended bike route home including: Idlewood, Maple dr and Bonaire.
Them not bothering to check these areas leads me to believe they know she continued down St. Landry towards coliseum.

Everywhere you go, people see your car. They don't see your house.

It's a shame that you have such a low opinion of New Orleans, especially as many people here have worked so hard to help find Mickey Shunick.

Fascinating.

Thanks so much.

I agree with loner. I can't decide if I think this person has malice in his heart or he is very mentally sick and perceives reality in an odd way...

That was happening at the Strip in '75 when I hung out there. The strip has always been that way and isn't representative of Lafayette as a whole -- either before or after Katrina. <modsnip>

Country boy stabbing is different from the "new" 🤬🤬🤬🤬 types...i don't see that. IMO Crime is crime...no matter who does it.

Does that imply that people on those streets maybe called LE to say they had video and were told they didn't need it? Or is it just because LE didn't come and ask them?

They just want to FEEL "cool" and feel like they fit in. They want nobody to see their living arrangements as they are too private for that. So they put on a "front" out in society. Guys know that a lot of girls "dig" nice rides...

...I'm also chuckling because apparently I moved away from peaceful happy Lafayette and INTO the cause of all of Lafayette's problems.

Unfortunately, we won't know until we know who it is.

It seems malicious to me, for some reason.

Many cars are leased and not owned... and honestly many people
spend more time awake in their vehciles than they do in their homes.
Sad that many people really only use their homes to sleep in these days isn't it?

I will agree the truck may cost more than the home OR this person may still live with mama....

I don't believe the driver of the Z71 is the perp.

/that being said and knowing that type, I tend to agree with your statement overall
