In general though the deserted routes are far safer for cyclists to take because the greatest danger a cyclist faces is from cars/traffic accidents. Now at night that can change somewhat because dark areas can have road hazards like potholes you can't see like you can during the day, but in general it's the smart thing to do to bike in areas with fewer cars.
Maybe so but I think the greater danger would be a young woman (any woman or man for that matter) traveling alone, in a dark isolated area at 2 AM in the morning. My opinion is that it's not wise nor safe.

I think we're talking about the wrong "girl" here. This is about Mickey, not Katrina. I understand we're frustrated about not having anything new to go on, but NOLA vs. Lafayette arguments aren't getting us anywhere.

MOOving on.

I hope some kind poster will update us after the local news casts

So how's Verizon's reception?

Or have we not established MS's cell carrier?

Verizon has been great since they bought centennial. Service damn near everywhere. And yes, Mickey had Verizon

Yes, local posters, please do! I'll be commuting home, and will be anxiously anticipating reading news about developments when I get home.

Which local channel will have the update?

What channel?

In Lafayette? Excellent. In fact, I'd say excellent in every part of the state I have been since switching.

And yes, MS had Verizon also.

So probably not patchy reception.

Thanks

I don't really know what more can be said about Mickey right now. That's been the problem now for days. Any ideas?

The statistics here do show an up-tick in population and most crimes in Baton Rouge following 2005. I know that the crime in BR has progressively gotten worse, but I think that has a lot to do with the direction society and younger generations in general seem to be headed - but that's a whole other topic:).

bbm. That's what I was trying to say.

I think that we have run out of stuff to talk about regarding the DWTIQ, BW, RM, and we have all played nicely so far, let's not squabble about Katrina now. (but just let me add I am tired of paying for it on my electricity bill!) Let's find Mickey!

Waiting on the edge of my seat for that 5 o'clock news!

Landry - Coliseum - Johston

If she did continue down St. Landry all the way to Coliseum it's a strong possibility she may have made a right onto Coliseum and gone up by the Cajundome and then on up to Congress. That route would probably gotten her home quicker.

No. Youre a gang banger because you bang gangs. *shrugs* I never really understood where that term came from. It always reminded me of the lost boys yelling "Bangarang!!" In the Steven Spielberg classic "Hook" :D

BBM

Arrgh! Please do not elaborate, kind sir.

I have alluded to this in my prior posts but I'm hesitant to go there because it's rumor so I'll give my opinion and let you guys figure out the rest...

I've always thought it peculiar that LE has not released the surveillance videos. None. Only a few screen shots. And not even more than one from each camera. In one instance, with the older car and the LCG camera, LE didn't release any photo of it from there. I asked why on this forum. Someone suggested that it could be because the video would identify a particular detail of the truck which LE does not want publicized b/c the perp could change it on the truck.

Today I suggested shots from the 213 St. Landry were not released (if they existed) because of a marking on the rear window (which some here think they see in the LCG photo.

I would venture to "guess" there are other photos which LE, for whatever reason, is not making public. Even as far down Congress near Adrien's Supermarket. Why LE is may not be disclosing this is beyond me.

They're flat boots. That's what she chose to wear that night. She was not mountain biking or expecting to be doing any long distance off-roading.

?
