I'm not a local so I can't provide any answers on if the new K-9 search team has been seen anywhere by locals, but there have been no published reports of where they are searching.

TES was planning to return to Lafayette yesterday, but they got called away suddenly to assist with finding a drowning victim in another state. I believe TES will return when they are able to if Mickey hasn't been found.

Thanks for the info! :tyou:

I'm trying to catch up on all of the threads but it's almost impossible trying to read and being a taxi driver for 6 kids. Anyway, I don't know if this has already been discussed recently so sorry if it has...

I know the new team of searchers aren't speaking to the media, but has anyone seen where they are searching? And I never did see if TES was back in town. Just being curious. Hope everyone has a great day!

And they are also not coordinating their efforts with the volunteer search either. Which to me is a good idea, that way the new search team isn't influenced by the volunteer search team's perceptions.

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers....

My old house on St. Thomas in the Saint Streets still shows my car and my husband's old truck, and we've lived in Houston for 2 years.

I think that's a good idea also. I wonder who called them to do this? Was is the family or are they just doing this on their own?

Thanks that would help. I'm just looking a little closer to the waters edge where I have mapped, and I can see a number of places that seem to stick out further into the water than others. I think maybe what I will do today, is to mark those places on one map. In a few places it looks like camps down there too where the edge seems to jut out. So many people seem to think that she may be in there, and then also the alligator factor, it just may be impossible to find her.

The onlything is, if perp did dump her with the bike from the bank she wouldnt make it out to the center of the channel( where most flow current is) , imo, I think she was dumped out there someplace( I hate to say that) just not at the bridge.

Im going out there to try some experiments, will throw stuff in water from edge and see if and how fast it comes back to the bank

Ok, I just updated the previous map. Are you in Louisiana? I contacted Google to ask, and hopefully they'll reply soon:). I do know that my friend's car is no more than 2 years old, and it's parked in front of her house in that neighborhood....:waitasec:

Google earth shows my old Blazer parked in my field for sale. I sold it 4 years ago. At my sister's house across the province, the image is 4 years old. About 8 months ago her husband saw the Google car go by and he raised his beer, but the image is still the 4 year old one. They are constantly updating, but slowly. There is an expensive program you can get that will provide the date to you.

Yep, it's going to depend on how far out she may have been thrown, swiftness of water, and like I said, any obstacles in the water.

I am usually on in the wee hours when everyone is asleep :) I have an adult disabled son who needs 24 hr care so I am totally random on my postings and usually leave the computer on logged in, so I can drive-by post. Good Morning! Let's hope today leads to something positive.

:blowkiss: God bless you, Mahouston.

I have an adult disabled brother. Our sister is the head of The Arc in our area. You are probably aware of The Arc, but if not, I recommend that you contact them in your area for help with respite care, and anything else. Fantastic organization for the disabled and their loved ones.

I think they were going to come in with TES, until TES got called out for another case. So, maybe, that is the way TES was going to coordinate this search. IDK....

IMO, JMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers.

"There's no new updates," said Cpl. Kyle Soriez, spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department. "We're not following any more or any new leads than what we had previous. Tips are coming in, but there's nothing new the investigators are working on."

Soriez had no prior knowledge of Special K-9s' involvement in the case before he received media calls about the group.

Special K-9s is not affiliated with Texas Equusearch or the Lafayette Police Department and began land-based searches Wednesday. The group conducts searches with dogs that can distinguish between animal and human bodies while searching water, land, ash and vehicles.

Carencro resident Mike Candella, who has an interest in forensic dogs, contacted Special K-9s after following the Shunick case for the past two weeks.

I thought I read that TES got called out and wasn't going to return, as there are no new leads and they can't really do anything.

BBM: Please be cautious not to throw anything in the water that searchers (if they are there) may deem relevant to the case...ya know.

If you hover over a point of interest, it should give you the date of the image

The copyright date is the copyright date of the image.

There used to be a slider bar that let you scroll through historical images

I'm using an iPad right now and the app doesn't have that function.

Google's street view of my neighborhood is about 4-5 years old as well. Some houses that have been built in recent years don't show up on Google. Just empty lots.
