anyone else getting the feeling that there are currently three young women missing from the south: Mickey Shunick from Lafayette, Jaren Lockhart from New Orleans and Brittany Nicole Wood from Alabama. Might be related?

I read on another WS thread, which I can not find now, that Brittany Wood was last seen headed toward her uncle's house by foot, which was 40 miles away, near the Styx River (?) area. Her phone was pinged near that area. The uncle committed suicide within days of her disappearance. Seems really odd to me...I mean statistically women are murdered by people they know. The fact that the uncle committed suicide speaks volumes, yet sheds no light on Brittany's location. I only mention this because of the SK discussion re: 3 missing women.

Someone in an earlier post mentioned they envisioned ACI possibly looking like Magnum PI. I have to disagree. Not many people are sporting a mustache of that magnitude these days. Higgins needed to tell him that fur coat on his top lip was out of control. I mean, I know the parachute pants and mullet cut I was sporting in those days were funny enough. (old timers don't laugh, it was you too). But I can see where that monster mustache could interfere with magnums sense of smell and possibly miss some clues in an investigation. And women on here don't laugh either with bangs to the sky and tight rolled Jeans.

haha. No resemblance to Magnum, or MacGyver. They are personal heroes of mine though ;)

This Just in: Mickey Shunick, father of missing son Charlie Shunick, says for everyone to be on the lookout for a potential suspect. A White 4 door Chevy Sierra. It is thought to be armed and extremely dangerous.

Did I get the details right? No? Oh well, print it anyway....

Sorry if this has been asked before, I've been a tad busy this moring, are you serious or are you making a funny, cause if that's actually the way an article went, with all those details wrong, they need to be shut down as a media outlet. Again, sorry if this has been talked about already.

so much going on these days....

those fires

descriptions

and now "items"

Yeah ..the fire on University is definitely weird. That's not exactly the sort of business you seek out, like one in an industrial area that might be deserted at off-peak hours. Surrounded by residences and nothing visibly accessible from the street to lure anyone in. Certainly nothing that screams "Hey, there are pressure washers and tools out back!" One would already have to know what they are looking for and that it's located back there. Some level of inside knowledge for sure. Really, really weird that the truck parts were stolen though.

A slight exaggeration, but yes some of the articles are that bad.

the only other thing I can think of is there were small, cute and under 25

Yes, and from what I've read on the Jaren thread, she had some chunky blonde highlights, so don't need to disregard the cute, petite blondes, with blue eyes (don't they all have blue eyes?), and all under 25 missing from areas in around around I-10. Hoping it is just a coincidence.

What I meant about possible ping locations...was that if they now have some people to look at, they may be able to soon get some ping info and concentrate on searching in a specific area. If LE starts to do some serious searching soon, maybe that means they have something like that to go on.

Yes. I didn't think of that & I think it's a spectacular idea.

Ping the perp(s)!

I feel like such an idiot! I try to speed read through these things while watching my toddler. I think I may just go hide in a hole for a while... totally humiliated!

No, don't be. I almost did the exact same thing. I was skimming through the threads really quickly because they are moving so fast, and I was really behind. And when i read that post I thought the same thing as you did. It is hard to pick up on sarcasm when skimming through fast.

I meant the actual scanner. You're able to listen to the archives from the last several weeks.

That's the only scanner thread that I know of. Maybe at the top of the thread, where it says Lafayette, La, in small letters it gives you the main thread. You may find what you're lookin for there.

Even if supposedly unconnected although how can we know, it is VERY odd, and I think there is something going on there that needs to be discovered.

Radioreference, I assume you're talking about? I'm part of the site, but not a premium subscriber so no access to the archives.

Yeah, I was just reading about Brittany as well. Her uncle committing suicide does sound fishy. I guess we'd have to know if her uncle was already severely depressed or had some other reason to blame himself for her death. Surely they searched in and around his place after his death. You would also think that if he committed suicide over the guilt of what he'd done, that he would leave a note confessing to it. JMO
