ACI: In your opinion, how possible/plausible is it that they've already ID'd the owner of the truck and are looking for him?

Also, have you heard anything at all about the WT towed in followed by 6 cop cars? Is it possible that is the truck?

Yeah Ive spoken with them. I dont want to insult their PI or cause any frustrations. I also dont want to try and solicit my services to them. They know Im working the case. If tgey want to hire me theyre free to do so.

About the guy arrested, I checked into all that already.

And as far as Abdella. He appears to just sit in his office all day getting the occasional tip and then calls some people and every once and a while goes question someone. Its very frustrating

yeah that makes sense about the family. it would be pushy. it's a shame abdella won't let u in on his poi since u could help.

Could possibly be the reflection of the window tint on light tan interior and the headrest. I simpley enlarged the isolated portion of the pic & the "blue" ends in a straight line instead of curving with the body as it would if it were someones shirt.

I can definitely see the driver; still looking for the passenger.

Im not gonna insult his rep. Im just gonna say there was some chuckling in LPD when they heard he was hired. Hes too old to do this IMO
Doesn't sound like he's much of a sleuther to me. How much is he really accomplishing sitting in his office all day I have to wonder ... that's sad yeah. In my opinion, if he was REALLY serious about trying to solve the case he'd be MORE than willing to exchange ideas and tips with fellow PI's.

I'm totally shocked there are only 3 registered vehicles in the parish that are of similar make and model to the VOI. Can't hardly get my mind wrapped around that ... seems like they're crawling out the woodwork over here :waitasec:. Also shocked to hear LE hadn't contacted them either; makes no sense.

i do agree that there's some turquoise in there, but it's too hard to say what it is. it could be a bag, towel, shirt, person, etc. these pictures are just too low quality. the driver looks like he's wearing one of those black sweater face mask things hunters wear. the whole head is the same color

I think its been said that Mickeys sister reads this site..so if she figures out that their PI is not doing much "on the job"...perhaps the family will decide to dismiss him....

I do not have a slugger, but a trip to Wal mart can resolve that. I can hog tie it to my handle bars and drive from Dallas.

LA
Think some of the others here are looking to call themselves Louisiana Heat. Not sure who posted it. Y'all should get ACI to make contacts in community should you consider mass bike ride along what was?? her route.

3 in lafayette with those qualifications. All the others could be registered in any neighboring town or they moved or any number of possibilities

lafayette parish or lafayette the town with only 3. i would imagine that broussard and youngsville have more, and new iberia for sure

The z71 emblem is usually only on one side of a vehicle. I see them everywhere and have not seen one that has it on both sides. Both GMC and Chevy have a z71.

Uhm...wut?:waitasec:

So the one POI you have left in your sites - he's the 2:00 am wandering driver and faux searcher?

Hang in there ACI - we're all on your side and we all know what an amazing job you're doing. Maybe the Shunicks will pop in here and read your account of their PI. And then hire YOU!!!

Thanx Artis..
I can see why Mickey Schunick's abduction may have caused the media to hone in on the story. If the allegations prove to be true, this could absolutely be a result. This is referred too as deep sixing and has been used by many LE agencies for obvious political and commerce reasons.

Precisely. That's why LPD is not the only one named in the suit ;)

I hate to be off the track but has anyone seen the video of the home where the dude & chick were living in Kenner?

Could you please fill me in on which dude and chick, and why it is of interest? I'm sure I missed something but I am too lazy to go back and try to figure out. :iamashamed:

So here's some news. 2 of my POI's are clear. One was confirmed out of town at the time. And the other was busy around the time frame she went missing....busy kidnapping and raping someone else. That's one hell of an alibi.

But on a more frustrating note: Just on a whim I ran a broad search for all 2005-2012 White Chevy Silverado crew and king cabs in every edition (LS, LT, LXT etc) registered in Lafayette parish. You know how many there were? Granted that's only in Lafayette parish, and there are several hundred in Louisiana all together. But only THREE registered in lafayette. I spoke to all three drivers and NONE had been contacted by LPD. Not one. You would think that would've been the first thing they did. Regardless, all three were offshore or off working at the time and not in town.

On an even more frustrating note: Twice I called Abdella today and both times before I could get a word in he said "I don't have time today, Im busy" and then hung up. I then went to go see him, as I walked in he said "Sorry no time today", and locked himself in his office. I heard him on the phone with someone in there also saying he was super busy and didn't have time to talk to them. This isn't the first time Ive witnessed him do this since this investigation started. He just sits in his damn office. I found out from people he's been talking to, the first name and description of someone he's been asking about. But they couldn't remember the last name. So I called him to get the last name from him so I could dig into it since he locks himself in his office all day everyday, and his response was: "Sorry, can't help you" and hung up on me.

Im a little more than pissed off today and if I was the Shunick family Id be furious.

He's being selfish. He is trying to capitalize on this case to get his name out there. He wouldn't be the "hero" if the tip came from you or if you figured it out and apparently that takes precedent over finding her. It would be one thing if he said and acted like that to a regular schmo like me, but acting that way to you makes no sense IMO. People get so stupid when they get greedy, they don't realize everyone can see right through them. I think you're a saint for doing all of this on your own time. :twocents:

I have never seen a woman in a skirt with a holstered weapon.
If La Heat had hundreds of women on bikes, wearing skirts and carrying...that would probably get some attention.
Bats & guns too?

Pareidolia ( /pærdoli/ parr-i-doh-lee-) is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon or the Moon rabbit, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse.

Ha! A finer diagnosis could not be found anywhere!

*Though I can pick out the man in the moon when I feel like it. :blushing:
