I probably watched a few too many horror movies in my day, but...the sheer desolation of it is just unsettling.

Hopefully it doesn't become a magnet for blight and crime. I'd hate to see that neighborhood ruined because of the move to a new location.

I truly do think what's happened has affected perceptions. I just never saw it as desolate, other than the ordinary desolation of abandonment. The horror of MS disappearance has heightened the sadness of abandonment with that overlay of grief?

I agree. I think it probably has to do with taking their own values and morals and assuming everyone else is just as trustworthy (in the case of my sister this is especially true). It's naivete, and it's also that feeling of invincibility we've talked about that a lot of young people have.

It's difficult to make out much of anything in the pics, especially if you are just looking at the pic in the thread. I use software to view the images in a larger format with a variety of different contrasts, etc, and some things are clearer than others. It's my opinion that her arm is up because I can see her bent elbow and there is no arm or hand on the handle bars. Unless you use software you may not have the ability to see it. Other pics, such as the truck, are much more difficult to decipher. At times I see something so clear and the next minute nothing but a blur.

I have focused so much on the pics because it is the only factual evidence we have to work on.

Island--can you post the pic to this forum after you've used your software? I think that if there is a man around that car and MS is on the phone, then my gut feeling that a man used a "ruse" to claim he needed help or something and then when she went to assist, he quickly changed and grabbed her near his vehicle. It's a strange pic without the enhancement done by your software.

It also has crossed my mind that this Speaks creep could have been in Fayetteville when Kelli Bordeaux disappeared. It's not too far-fetched that Speaks was in prison at the same time as Nick H. Actually, they definitely were in prison at the same time, just don't know if they were in the same prison. Both RSO's but this Speaks guy targets victim of a different type (not little kids). He could potentially be a serial killer. He's been out of prison since July 7, 2011*, I think. How many young women have gone missing since then?

*Wrong. Speaks has been out of jail since January 27, 2009. The 2011 date must have something to do with his parole requirements.

Yes, Versailles (around the bank/school) and then around a minute later, the Circle K pic.

Just wanted to post that since Mickey has disappeared, college aged kids in Lafayette, especially girls, are scared. Our daughter, her best friend, and some of their other friends are leaving Lafayette. Some might say it's an over reaction but they went out last weekend and were watching each other like hawks. They said the anxiety is just too high. Sad and I realize that this does not happen often but they, like we, are saying that there is not enough information and their trust levels of strangers is zero. They are always looking over their shoulders. Our daughter and her friends are devastated by Mickey's disappearance even though they don't know her.

Serial killer is always the first thing to cross my mind in abduction cases (excluding parental). I remember when a serial killer was a really big deal and consumed the NATIONAL news (Zodiac, Ted Bundy) but there are so many, now, they barely make the local news. What's wrong with this picture?! There's something fundamentally wrong with a society that has this problem.

Look at the long list. I see representitives on it from almost every nation; South America, Asia, Europe, Soviet Union, Canada, Mexico as well as the United States.

I wouldn't rule a "ruse" out---perhaps he was first telling her (at this location Versailles/St.John pic) he felt sick (or drunk) and she kept going, noticing him but kept going. Then he followed her without her really knowing because she took the same bike route frequently and had a noticeable light on front of her bike making her whereabouts easy to see from a distance. Then, (and after the next pic at the Circle K) he played it up more...something like "I am too sick (or drunk) to drive, can you please just drive me to the hospital (or wherever)?" Perhaps she finally felt she needed to help him? Of course, this "ruse" scenario is the type of thing a very organized, experienced, perp would be able to do--sad but a possibility.

The pic at Versailles/St. John is strange if you look closely so that is why I am asking Island for add'l pic with the enhancement by his software.

I've been reading this forum since MS went missing, so I guess i'm not really "new" but this is the first time i've posted anything.

i believe that JL and MS disappearances are related. i think that, assuming these two people who were just arrested (Sanchez and Speaks) are responsible for JL's disappearance, they are also responsible for MS's disappearance. the PI in MS's case said he believed there were two people involved. people have asked several times how someone could be so stupid as to discard JL's body in the way it was discarded because it washed ashore. i think they discarded JL's body this way because it worked for them before and they assumed that it would work again. i think they may have done the same thing to MS and its been over 3 weeks and nothing has been found and that gave them confidence. i think this is related to the other dancer who was found deceased who worked at a club off of or on bourbon st. i can't recall her name just now. this speaks guy worked at a club off bourbon and the sanchez girl also worked in the quarter. i believe i read that she worked at stiletto's?? correct me if i'm wrong about that. i noticed that speaks had warrants in california and north carolina. these are areas, like nola, that are by large water bodies. i believe very strongly that these cases are connected, fwiw. (this is all my opinion from putting things together from these cases.) i hope i'm not breaking any WS rules or anything with the content of this post. (first time posting)

I just called the tipline to inform the police of that just in case they were not aware of it. Hope they take my call seriously and check into it!! This may be the key they need to crack the case!!

BBM .. Do you really think anybody should tell the world what areas have been searched? Are you crazy?

Although they can't give out the search locations/items found they could put this case back into the public by clearing up rumours such as the DWTIQ.

Whether they want to admit it or not most cases that are solved when LE involves the public and this LE seems to be shying away from the public. It was 5 or 6 days after MS went missing before they held a press conference. Since then it has been complete silence.

I don't think it's identical, it doesn't even appear to be a white truck.
