Bad Intenet connection, so I can't look back from all of today's posts, but KLFY just posted that the divers are back at WB. Apparently, nothing new to report at this time as they are just continuing to search.

Looks like either a newer Colorado or 2003 - 2006 Silverado.

Disregard everything about the trucks in the photos that are attached except for the front.

Found a comparison photo for the 2006/2007 Silverado. The 2007 front is what we're looking for.

And a close up of a current Colorado front.

The resemblance is uncanny!

But wouldn't there have been blood, skin, hair, etc. evidence there, as well as fragments of her bicycle? I imagine that the pavement would have been scraped as well?
----------
That is probably correct, and, sorry, but I have said so myself, there probably would have been evidence of that nature.

Then, I proposed a different theory, one that wouldn't involve her getting hit, or thrown on the road.

That theory would be that the DWT was initially ahead of her and as she passed by, she was grabbed somehow through an open window, possibly by her backpack, subdued in some way (taser?), to the rh side of the truck, the bike slid under the truck (accounting for the light under the truck). The truck backs up.

Never mind. There's no way of knowing, without our seeing the entire video.

The only way that it could be her would be if she had been stopped, fallen over immediately after this picture was taken of her, the truck came along and ran over her.
Both her and the truck are in the same locations when the picture's were taken. If that truck hit her and she ended up under it, the picture of her under the truck would have been in the middle of the intersection.
Not to mention the people pumping gas that close would surly of heard something, seen something, especially the truck backing off her and loading her and the bike into the truck.

but if you take a close look under the road work sign, IMO there's Mickey, clear of the bike and the truck, but in serious trouble.

Impossible for us to know. There are so many white trucks of that make and model in Louisiana.

Ought to call Abdella so he can check it out!

Solving this crime will not be anything like a C.S.I. episode, of course. But I was thinking that one aspect seems inprobable enough to be in modern day crime drama...The perp(s) who seem to be stumping le.

My fear is that this is CSI vs Andy Griffith.

MOO

Uhm, IMO Andy Griffith or Matlock would of solved this case already.:flashback:

I understand it's your opinion, but I don't see how you can make anything of detail out of a dark color splotch, especially a human being. I look at that picture blown up and I see exactly what my eyes tell me, a highly pixelated color splotch.

I know little about canine searches, but if the dog jumped up on a guard's vehicle, would that indicate that a scent was being hit on, or just that the canine officer was leading the dog in that direction for a rule out. I guess if there was even a slight hit - the media would have reported this long ago, right?

<sigh>[/QUOTE]

I have been thinking about the use of dogs as well. How is there no trace when the dogs were sent out? Where the dogs searching in the wrong place?
Just seems odd. No way perp could get rid of her scent completely.

Just saw on FB:

KATC-TV 3: Acadiana's Newschannel
Divers are searching the Whiskey Bay area again. KATC checked with Lafayette police about possible new developments in Mickey Shunick's disappearance, but Cpl. Kyle Soriez says investigators have nothing new. He says divers have continually searched the area during the investigation.

BBM, above, in sequence.

1. So, how did she get clear of the bike and truck IYO without leaving blood or tissue evidence on the road? I've proposed one of my theories. I want to hear yours.

2. Gear of Reverse. Why do they think that? Are you confirming what I said about the truck backing up after perhaps grabbing her, or are you saying it was some other reason?

Not being hostile, just critical thinking.

Here's a side-by-side of Mickey and the DWT. Is it possible that the light near Mickey's tire isn't actually a reflector from the pedal (that's what I had assumed it was)? It's almost in the same spot as the light under the DWT. (Not in any way saying that's her under there!)

This image shows a side-by-side of the trees. There are definitely lights in the image with the truck, but I don't think there's enough clarity to determine if that's a car and especially not enough to tell if it's the hoopity.

I think that light we are seeing on Mickey's tire is the reflector on the bike "catching light". If so this concerns me a bit.

Calling A.C.I. -- I thought A.C.I. asked LE and they said there was video of her beyond the point of where she was shown by Circle K.

Perhaps some of you can recall that?

they didn't say what her ride was, if they did see her. on foot, bike, in a car, truck..in a subsequent video

frankly I think they gave us the slip on the grips "found at the scene".. I heard one account of the grips being submerged with the bike, but I didn't hear the cop at press conference by the bay say that. At "the scene" could also mean 'scene of the crime' IMO. The bike's handle bars are so sawed off and narrow, a big stilted truck like that could clear many objects that lower vehicles could not.
Reverse gear might indicate the bike got wedged under the truck. The handlebars are the most likely point of contact, on the right side making contact with the hot hot oil pan and exhaust area, and on th left, getting scraped along the asphalt.

I'll repeat that pressure washers and truck parts were discovered missing from the scene of an arson fire that morning. Pressure washers do what is implied, and they run on gas, no electricity needed. If one returned with a hard hat, some orange safety garb, and some pressure washers, one is considered a road worker, not a person of interest... street gleaming with spic and span-ness.

A good pressure washer can also be used to get that pesky decal off.

IMO, if LE really wanted help finding the DWTIQ they would release some streaming video. It's almost laughable that LE would tell the general public to be on the lookout for a white Chevy Z71...there is one on every corner! I have got to imagine that LE has figured out who owns the white truck but releasing that they know may not be in the best interest of the investigation. On the flip side, LE has not recently stated that they are still looking for the truck, have they? It's been a while since we have heard that.

And also...what the heck is the deal with no front license plates needed in LA??? Where I live plates are required on the front and the back of a vehicle, IMO front plates sure would have helped to ID the vehicle in question here and likely assist in helping ID vehicles in many other crimes...it is often a person (or camera) catching a plate # that helps, I am baffled by any states not requiring front and back plates! (Just my opinion).

If I remember correctly the arson/truck part theft was a week or more after Mickey's disappeared

We have images of Mickey already past the sign. I don't see any of what you are seeing.

I just see ALL the lights in the tail light ON. As far as I know the only way to get them ALL to light is a combination of foot on the brake and gear in reverse. IMO I see a hooded passenger looking out the window, and I wonder if the black streak on the door is a weapon of some kind, in the left hand of the hooded passenger. Pressure Washers.. That would also get rid of any liquid dumped on her by the passenger, such as motor oil or paint...blood too.. EVERYTHING! The streak below the window IMO could be 1)liquid 2) a billy club/gun 3) shadow from the passenger side rear view mirror.

I'm starting to wonder if that was just to shush people.

Re: bolded part.

Yep. Separate from this case, but relevant regarding LE's response to reports of "white trucks." I reported a crime where a white truck was involved, only I could not get the plate #. The reporting LE seemed to think that was funny, as he laughed a bit.
