I have been praying, reading and following for weeks with such a hopeful heart for Mickeys safe return home. I have children around that age and can not fanthom what the family is going through. May the Shunick family have faith and strength in this journey of bringing Mickey home. May God bless them.

** If this goes through it will be my first post. I have had numerous unsuccessful attempts.
** Also, I am unable to hear radio cast because supposedly my iPad can't. If anyone knows how to solve I would appreciate assistance. Thank you greatly.

WARNING - this is NOT the place to talk about PIs, who's paying them or how they are getting paid.

DROP THE SUBJECT NOW. IT HAS WORN ITSELF OUT.

Stop bickering about who is better than who. Mickey's family is doing what they think is best and they are the ones who get to make those decisions.

Discuss the case, the clues and the theories and drop the rest of the nonsense.

Most experienced and reputable? Is there a link for that?
Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said he has known Abdella for more than 25 years and trusts his information. He would not comment, however, on anything Abdella is currently investigating, citing he did not want to confirm or deny anything that might hinder or hamper the investigation.
"He's got a good reputation," said Craft. "He's in good standing with us, and he has been giving information he receives or tips he receives to us."

I just hope the PI's have some luck in getting results. When googling, I can only find one story that comes up for PI's solving a missing persons case. Surely there are more...but not finding them.

Does anyone know if the Shunick family has had any contact with someone like Mark Klass?

They have from what it seems alot of people around them but maybe having someone that could offer some guidance/advice would help them navigate through various things that they have/will experience.

Y'all can throw tomatoes at me for this... But awhile back there was a Facebook pic floating around of...wait for it... A white truck that was on a friend of RM fb page. I believe someone called it in as a tip. Anybody know if it was looked in to? IOW, A.C.I. Did you look into at all?

It was... The only thing I can say is that I was told directly that the truck had been identified. LE would say nothing else!

Haven't heard of anything, but they did work with TES...so they should have had some advice and info from them.

Yes they did but I as well know that TES is very involved in the search aspect of things.

I was thinking more along the lines of a support line with the various emotions, dealing with media/social media, LE, etc.

They just seem to be floundering right now and it is heartbreaking to see.

I want to know about her summer plans. Why was she moving to NO? She wasn't due to graduate until the fall. It had to be "something" related to school IMO. She was looking for a place where she could have pets.
I am thinking maybe

New Orleans, Anthropology summer 2012 schedule
continuing education?
an internship required for graduation?
Summer Research Fellowship ?
Anthropology of Disaster?
Paid studies program to mentor upcoming students?
any ideas?

Maybe she was accepted over someone else who thought they were
more deserving?
What colleges are there?
Tulane?
University of New Orleans?
Loyola?

That poor family, not knowing what happened to their child has to be devastating. Hopefully, they have a crisis counselor.

I will simply say, certain things you've mentioned are definitely on my radar

Edit: Except that truck. That's unrelated

Not sure, but I think Tim Miller and his group are good at talking with the families, same as Marc Klaas; Tim has been through the same thing that Marc went through. Either group would be able to provide support and suggestions to a family, I would think. JMO

I don't think what I am trying to say is comming across right.

TES comes in usually close to the beginning. They bring in alot of resources at a time when the family needs them but at some point they must move on. During this time the family has much to keep them occupied with respect to helping get the searchers organized, the making of missing posters, t'shirts etc.

Then when the searching starts to wind down there seems to be the next phase and by this time TES is no longer there as the family tries to navigate through this phase. The family has less to keep themselves busy and more time to think; to second guess things but it as well important to still have some form of support.

I think you stated it perfectly, Allusonz.

The posters/flyers, shirts, stickers, bracelets are keeping Mickey's face ever present. IMO the Shunick family is doing everything they can possibly think of to bring their daughter home. Perhaps a poster of Mickey's items she was last seen carrying could help? (Same style as the posters/shirt). The items consist of a can of mace, a purse, cell phone and clothing. If these items are put into the public's "eye" someone might have seen one of these articles, not realizing the potential. I'm trying to offer solutions that could lead to clues or Mickey. There is no possible way I can understand what her family is going through at this time in their lives. Like many others, I pray for her safe return.

This is something many LE's do and it would be a great idea if someone could pass this along to them. It as well may renew interest with the media; a new angle and a new sense of direction for the family as well :)

I remember this, but are you still able to go inside this late? It was not yet 2 so the bar had not yet closed. The reason I asked is because he said they went in car because they had to go through drive thru.

Just wondering.

LA

I want to say the Taco Bells in my area of Louisiana close the indoor seating area between 10pm and midnight. I want to say they close the inside at 10pm. It may be midnight on the weekends, but no, I don't think the inside would have still been open.

The radio broadcast was good to update one on this case.

This case reminds me of the Shelley Carson case. Ill take a few days and read more.
