I just keep coming back to someone finding Mickey (and some of the other missing young girls - and I am not limiting area, I think there could be a traveler of some kind - ) and then stalking via FB. I keep mine pretty private, but, I just ot done working with a relative to get her girls (late teens) more private. They never gave it a thought. And I know I can come across as a paranoid Aunty/Mom/Friend, but hey I am a Websleuther and I KNOW things.

The whole location being added to statuses and the "checking in" wherever people go makes me very nervous. Why would ANYONE want people to know where they are at? Aren't people even a little paranoid instinctively?

Along the same lines as her hair being brown and would be growing out by now....is her hair naturally curly or did she have a perm? If it is the latter, that might be growing out by now too.

If those images are what you suggest, LE would have more and would know that this was in fact what happened. I don't believe they would keep this from the public.

I believe they are keeping lots of stuff from the public. I hope it's for the benefit of the case.

Now, for some true P.I. work....

Regardless of all of the different types of scenario's that may have taken place....we know that the bike had a damaged back wheel rim and the tire was dislodged. Based on my research it takes quite a bit of force to damage a rim enough for the tire to come off. It had to have been bent rather significantly.

I have a bike and the rim is very solid and it's an inexpensive bike. Mickey's bike would have been much more durable based on the type of bike she had.

My question is....let's suppose she did not get hit by a car/truck...what could have the force to damage the rim?

We can rule out by hand...impossible. I can't picture a scenario where the bike could be propped up and hit to look like an accident. If it was thrown, I would imagine it would have to be from a skyrise to have the force to bend a rim. I'm having a mental block and just can't think of what could do this but I am sure there are possibilities. Anyone??

There is a special on CNN about human trafficking. I can't watch it because I have my 3 year old with me. I don't think Mickey was taken by a trafficker, however. Still though, I thought some of you may be interested in watching

Simply SOP that has been used in investigations since the 1930's. The most valuable resource in missing persons investigations; the American public, is being squandered due to antiquated strategies & tradition..

No, it was not the same. She had a light brown leather backpack the night she went missing.

I just spoke with one of my sons that rides with Bike Lafayette and is very familiar with the type of
Bike Mickey owned.

He assures me that the bike is very lightweight, a good bike, but he says the rim could be easily damaged.....a hard kick, a trunk lid slamming down on it, as well as being bumped by a car. He said it sounds like (with the info LE released) that if it was a vehicular accident, it would have been a minor accident, and, in his opinion, survivable.

He actually laughed out loud at me when I told him that there was a suggestion that the bike may have been completely under the truck. He said there would have been pieces of that bike all over,
tiny pieces, because those trucks are big and heavy and her bike was small and very lightweight.

Just adding the opinion of another cyclist!

If we knew exactly what damage the bike had, we would be better able to address it. My thought has been that her bike was damaged when she was first attacked. I don't think it was hit by a car/truck - but I could see it getting damaged in a scuffle, especially if MS was being struck with something. She would most likely have still been straddling the bike, and the bike would have received part of the blow. This is just a possibility - I still think she was taken by someone she knew and, probably, trusted.

Yeah, who knows, without actually seeing the bike or what other damage, if any. Maybe the task proved to be more difficult than anticipated and was given up? I would imagine that if it were not hit...and if it were dumped right away, one might be limited to whatever tools are already in the vehicle.

She is asking everyone to tie purple ribbons around their trees to show that we support Mickey and her family.

I think it would be lovely if the Shunick family sees purple ribbons all over the Lafayette area!
