I think the Olds deserves more attention still, but what I am looking at are 2 things above the the Olds, some say 'Mickey hauling @$$'.. and something just to the right. What I don't think we've talked about much is the vehicle headed in the opposite direction at the far right side of LE pic. It seems to have a big split screen nose, like a locomotive form the 40's, and I believe I see round headlights. Dodge has been doing a retro 1940's thing ever since the PT cruiser, and the bulbous nose now appears on their trucks. the round headlights remind me of a Jeep Liberty, but that has a flat nose.. can't have it both ways. I'm just saying let's look at that one too.

There is a registered sex offender in the area, drives a blue 1983 Olds 98, according to the local sex offender website.. I believe I got a link to that here @ WebSleuths. I'm psychologically ready for something new to chew on. Aren't you?

Just be careful how you discuss this, because we are not allowed to sleuth people who are not POI, and in the case of the hooptie, the driver has been cleared by LE.

Now, to discuss one of the areas you are interested in, I do agree that certain aspects of that area could appear to be a person, leaning forward, riding a bike. I don't think there is enough detail to be definitively sure what that area is.

Remember, at the time that photo was released LE stated that the photo of Mickey by the Circle K was the last known image of Mickey. That would lead me to believe the area is NOT Mickey, because I don't think LE and FBI would have missed that. Also, Mickey would have had dark pants on, and a dark backpack, and neither of those appear to be in the photo.

However, the *area* in question is intriguing.

This afternoon I was riding one of my usual routes when something hair raising occured. I was riding down a street that is a favorite "short cut" for many motorists because it intersects with two major streets. As a result it is heavily traveled. It's wide so I have no issue riding on it, other than the occasional speeder.

As I was heading south I noticed two cars coming in the opposite direction. One was a white chevy truck. As I began to snicker, it stopped and pulled over to the side and let the car behind it pass.

As my hair stood on end, I stopped too. We both stared at each other and he was a heavy set older man with dark hair, once he realized I was looking right at him, he punched it. I was shocked for a second, and then turned to see if I could give chase. As I did, I realized a sticker on the passenger side of his truck. He was going pretty fast, but it appeared to be a white Fleur De lis. I turned and tried to catch him, and then realized I was riding right into a probable trap, as there is a local street right ahead that someone could hide on-- and he was no where in sight.

I turned around and for the first time in years hit 25 mph, and went a different route home. I am sorry to say I did not get the plates. Even if I could I never have writing materials while riding.

So, are we sure the perp is local.. and maybe this is intentional

Maybe he stalks female riders.

Just so you know, the majority of us transplanted Cajuns have a Fleur de lis on our car.

I am a natural brown-reddish yuck, as are my sisters. We all have red hair. It comes from a box. It looks better on our skin tone.

If the bike was found say in the center of the water, which one would think is the deepish part. I would say you are probably correct. Especially after viewing the additional photos of the bridge and area in discussion.
Would make sense. Stop along that bridge with no one coming, about the center and get out long enough to toss it over and in.

I do not agree. I have been over WB too many times to count. Stopping right there to take a bike out of the truck is risking death. It is narrow and there very little room to pull over. Even if you were ballsy enough to try it, you would most certainly get noticed as that bridge is heavily driven day and night.

I have always thought the perp took the exit and drove right on up to his dumping spot. If done by cover of night, that's a ballsy move too. It be scary out there. This brings me to the thought that this was a tough person, who was bent on getting rid of the bike and doing at the right time, and hopefully in the right place so that it would not be found.

Unfortunately for him.. Mickey has angels. I hope they are looking over her and return her soon.

Yes. As the proud owner of a "hooptie," I call it my Lincoln pickup. You can fit anything in the back and still slam the trunk lid shut. Some say those cars were designed with the Mafia in mind....

We used to have a Cadillac Coupe De Ville. I could fit both of my kids bikes in the back seat. lol They used to ride to the middle school and sometimes I would pick them up. I could put their two bikes in the trunk.

But one time I tried to fit too much in the trunk and I slammed it on my DD's bike, and I bent her rim. Makes me wonder.....??????

Well... we walk a fine line talking about the Olds driver. I would say that that guy would likely be the driver. I saw that Olds several times around town, and it was the only one like it.

Let's be careful. LE cleared him.

My Opinion
I see Mickey On her bike, in a racing bike position just above the roof of the 'olds very clearly to me, and confirms she isn't under the truck by circle k. I think LE refers to this shot/footage when they say blurry footage further down St. Landry, but can't clarify. I do not think she is further down the sidewalk. Where you zoomed in. That to me looks like the trunk of a car that resembles the daytime google daytime shot of that apt complex. The hooptie looks like it's brake lights are on, and a tad too far to the left as if the driver is trying to get closer to her.

I think I've disagreed with more of your posts today than I have in the entirety of the ~month I've been here. I promise I'll stop.

But I must say....in the wee hours of the morning, with considerable gaps between vehicles (like, say, 30-60 seconds, at times), there's plenty of time for someone to quickly hop out of his truck, retrieve the bike from the bed of a truck, and fling it over the guardrail.

I can remember being in college and...umm...maybe a little under the influence of a beverage (or twelve). And as we were traveling west to Lafayette from BR after a night out, an old classic song came on the radio. My friend who was driving (and who was also under liquid influences) thought it would be a swell idea to, you know, go ahead and stop the car RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE G*****N INTERSTATE (on the Atchafalaya bridge, to be sure) to dance.

Yeah.

We look back on it and laugh now, but 3 drunken idiots dancing on the Interstate at 3AM is just screaming "death wish". Thankfully there wasn't much traffic, so we all lived to tell the tale.

Point is, I'm fairly sure we were stopped for at least thirty, and possibly as much as sixty seconds.

what can I report? He was gone. He was hauling or hiding that's for sure. Even if I called my local police-- I do not live in La, there's a ton of white trucks here as well. With no plate numbers, I doubt anything of merit could be done.

Yes, I am happy I have enough spidey sense and still am a racer at heart. I have a gun in my map bag, but TX law does not cover self defense from a bike, only from within your home- and I certainly was not taking him there so I can shoot him.
