chicken fried... I think I may have seen the old model car, too. I've only seen the black and white surveillance photo, but I immediately envisioned it as a car I saw on Johnston within 1-2 weeks ago.

Is the car you may have seen similar to this one?
1980-Cadillac-Fleetwood-Brougham.jpg

The car I saw was very, very beat up. Single black male driver (seems like he was wearing a white t-shirt).

I wish I could remember the date I saw it. I don't have much confidence in my memory.

i think this is a great theory, but i dont think it should be limited to petite blond females. i think something like this could be responsible for many people going missing, including brunettes, african americans, hispanics, tall, fat, skinny...etc

i'd even go as far to say that even a male could be a victim of these crimes. there are SO many people missing out there that are never found.

Ha, well I used to pray to stop growing when I was younger! In recent years I've been glad I didn't. I know none of us are invulnerable but it sure as heck helps to be looming up around 6 feet, lol.

Yes...I wonder if the connection with all the petite blonde girls is just that being smaller in stature just makes you a target. Seems like generally a guy would not pick on someone his own size. The average American male is 5'8". Itmakes more sense to abscond with a smaller woman who will be easier to attack, lift, etc. Maybe many perps just prefer smaller women for these reasons? Especially if they're not all that tall themselves? Shorter/petite women are easier targets?

Meaning not that these cases are necessarily connected but that smaller women are more likely to go missing or be attacked and therefore there are so many of these cases....if that makes sense.

They do contract out for security, and the name of the company is eluding me right now. I work on a 7/7 rotation, and I've been off since Wednesday. I was working at one of the bases "down the bayou" and there were no fliers at that location. We did have a few large crew changes that day, and I know some of the guys were talking about it.

I see. Thanks for the information you've provided so far.

I'd love to be able to try to find a way to get some fliers up around the sign-in area. And I really think the security company should be briefed, too.

Do you have any ideas about how this might be accomplished? (If you're not comfortable going into it here, you can PM me.)

One thing that always strikes me when I'm reading missing persons at, say, Charley Project are the number of women under, say, 5'3" who go missing under mysterious circumstances probably related to violence.

It may be I just notice those cases and ignore others with taller women. They seem to stand out.

wfgodot (By the way, I just got your username)-I agree. Furthermore, some of the girls listed don't even fit the mold. Like, one was going through a nasty divorce and the husband was the last to see her, one feels very obviously done by a local/someone who knows the victim (Bobo, in my opinion), one was an older mother who was actually found near her home and likely murdered by someone close to her, etc.
I wouldn't rule it out, but sometimes you have to look at more context than just somewhat similar hair color.

I guess I just need more evidence that they are all connected. It would be crazy if they were. If so, I would tend to think the connected ones would all fit a pattern (so, ones out late at night near universities like Lauren/Mickey) rather than literally every blonde that is missing.

Similarities in most of them.... College towns, profile of victims, FACEBOOK tagging and location information. Let's not rule scenarios totally out. I'm not underestimating the capacity for evil in Lafayette. I guess my point is that whoever commited this crime was comfortable in their ability to do so.

ETA: In reference to Lauren's case, there is a Lafayette in Indiana as well.

Actually, off the top of my head I can't think of any missing woman case involving a tall woman. I'm sure they exist, just haven't heard of them. I hope all my tiny sisters are extra careful and safe :(

Math teacher, Sherry Arnold was 5' 10". She was abducted and murdered by 2 crackheads on her morning run at about 6-ish. She fought hard, and one of her shoes was found. This was in a tiny town in Montana.

Or abductions deaths by strangers of very overweight women....I can't think of those either.
Shorter and thin (or thinish) is what I've seen most from WS lurking, etc.

I figured someone would find one! ;) But yeah, like I said, none of us are truly invulnerable and we should all be careful. With all this happening right under my nose, I've been thinking about looking into a self-defense class. I wanted to take one in college but I was doubled up on classes and didn't have time.

Just checking in... hoping there will be some more info from LEOs. I see there's been a bit of discussion about the car in the photo, and my comments. I'm giving my opinion because I am an old car nut and, until recently, didn't own anything later than a '79. Gave in and got an '85 Supra. Driving around town, I always check out older cars. at least 99 out of 100 drivers driving that car- which definitely is a '79-'87 Cadillac, are black. I drive a '78 Lincoln and black folk approach me in parking lots all the time try to buy it off me. I literally get an offer almost every week. It's a complete fashion trend among south Louisiana blacks. The latest offer was this morning at the parts store. I'm the only white person I have ever seen driving one of those big 4-door boats.

The whole point of it is that if they are looking for that car, they are looking for a black driver, 99%+, guaranteed. Maybe it's different in different parts of the country, but we're talking about a search for a girl in her hometown, and that is the way it is in her town.

What's bugging me is that I am almost certain I saw that car a couple weeks ago somewhere here in town parked at a store. I think it was Wal-Mart on Pinhook, Academy or Lowe's on Ambassador Caffery. It was beige/tan. I remember it because it was unusually beat-up, the plastic taillight-to-fender fairings had rotted away, leaving a gap and I (I'm trying to remember better now - beating my head) think the right quarter panel had body work/primer.

Going to have to almost hypnotize myself to try to remember.... because I remember thinking that it was a beater... and many of those old Caddys actually have been kept in decent shape by the owners.

Later I'm going to get real quiet and see if I can remember where. Yeah, there are a lot of those old Caddys around town, but I specifically remember the beige/tan beater.

I parked next to a car that looked remarkably like it at Lowes on Amabassador Caffery the Tuesday before last--I know the date, because I had to run out after 8 pm to buy a new dishwasher and there weren't many people there at all...one of the doors on my car don't lock properly, and I usually ignore it, but parked next to a car that looked like that, I decided to reach to the back and lock it 'just in case'. Being from this area, I agree with you 100 percent on the people who drive these cars.

Yeah, we chubby girls are harder to haul off...it's easier to pick on someone tiny, because you can overpower and move them more easily.

Yes. That's the model car in the photo. '79-'89 Cadillac. I am pretty sure the one I saw was beige/tan. I need to go back and study the photo some more to see if a beige/tan car would look like that in that surveillance shot, with the available light.

The one I saw was parked in a store lot - no driver inside. If you saw the driver then you're doing better than I. The car stood out because it was more beat up than most of those old Caddys - the plastic fairings had fallen away between the fender and the vertical chrome taillight bezels - very common failure with that model. So there actually was a large (6-inch?) gap where the bezels just stood out there on their own. We probably saw the same car. And I do a lot of trips around Johnston/Amb. Caffery and Pinhook. I'm going to have to try really hard tonight, when I'm done with my jobs, to remember where I saw it. But I thin it was about 10-14 days ago.

I may have seen it at Lowe's. We may have been there at the same time. I'm going to have to think back on what I bought and when, because I go to Lowe's 2-3 times/week.

Better to invest in a nice gun and a Concealed Handgun License if you are in a state that allows them.

This may well have been posted previously and I missed it: http://findmickeynow.com/ Good pictures, informative text, and a nice collection of links. Professionally done.

Lacigirlie, I sent you a private message.

Be aware that making statements like this are against TOS - just send it, don't announce it (makes everyone else wonder what it's about).

Wonder if the guy with the Caddy works at Lowe's? I saw it during the day - not night. I often go to Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Autozone, Wal-Mart, Albertson's, Rite-Aid, O'Reilly, Academy Sports. Of those, the places that stand out where I might have seen it, were: Lowe's, Academy, Wal-Mart. I'm pretty sure it was at one of those three. I need to go to Lowe's tomorrow - I think I'll take a look to see if it's there. Might be an employee.

If this was a predator, I think he probably wore gloves...may not leave any prints or DNA on the bike at all...

As far a serial, while Mickey's abduction could be related to other crimes (attempts, etc. i.e. in Sierra's case) I don't see it with Lauren, or most of the others that writer is pushing with his blog. Holly is the only one who seems possible to me, but even in her case, it seems more specific to Holly than just grabbing a girl in a vulnerable situation. In Katelyn's case, she either left her apartment again that night or let someone in who then removed her...hers is actually the strangest of all to me. Karen's husband may not have named a POI, but he has a defense attorney who is already starting to pain her character in a negative light. In Paige's case, a POI in is jail on other charges and refuses to talk about Paige, and he was the last seen with her.

Anyway, I feel for LE, having to search that large area and the water now, with no way of knowing if the bike's locale is a true clue or not to where Mickey is. And for her family, of course.

I live pretty close to Lowe's if you want me to take a look. I'm not sure the legality of snapping pictures of some unknown person's car though and posting it on here (if there is one there).
