Lt Vaughn Burris of Lafayette Pd is speaking to Nancy Grace on CNN- he says they do not believe the bike was tossed over the side of I-10. He believed they exited at Whiskey Bay and dropped the bike off.

I noticed one person close to the case using the phrase "Mickey was...." within 3 days of her disappearance. It seemed rather odd in context.

Yeah, seems weird to me too. Weird, but it doesn't tilt the balance. Does make one alert to possibility though. As do many things.

I infer from what Lt. Burris said is that the bike wasn't submerged in water? Anyone else watching get that feeling too?

Wondergirl I think it's more likely that the Indiana police are just trying to get their case back in the public's attention, and with no other leads to go on doesn't hurt to investigate.

Certainly some similarities, but probably only a super small chance they are connected.

You could be right, Ven, but, physically, they appear very similar to me, set aside the similar MO, and the discounted white truck (in LS case).

It's either a bad leak that IN LE contacted LA LE, or it is intentional to spur publicity.

It's got me thinking, though.

IMO she went willingly because something would have been found of hers on the ground. Anyone remember Kristi Cornwell? She went for a walk in a very rural area and was talking to her BF on her cell. She told her BF a car was following her. Later they found her sneaker and her eyeglasses on the ground. Maybe MS knows this person and trusted him. Also with Cornwell case, LE knew who the suspect was because HIS cell pinged at a nearby tower. Im hoping LE knows more and they find her safe.

trigger, this case has been on my mind too. I live in No GA near where the Kristy Cornwell tragedy happened in 09/2009. James Carringer, the suspect/predator in her abduction/murder, comitted suicide 01/2011 in Atlanta. LE didn't know his phone pinged for over 15 months, because they hadn't identified him til then. Richard, her brother located her burned remains, after LE wanted to wait til the holidays were over to search. She was found where the phone pinged.

Charlie has to realize that people want to hear specific facts about the night/morning MS went missing.

Charlie just told NG that she called MS at about 8AM Saturday morning and didn't get an answer but then she changes it to, well I either called or texted - whatever blah, blah, blah, and then . . .

By now why hasn't she gone over those details? Charlie sounds so hasty or non committal or something.

I see what you are saying but I think people assume the worst in this type of situation. Honestly, I do as well based on statistics but I'm still holding out hope because it's still possible!

Edit: I thought you were talking about people on this board. Not sure it's any different with people close to her though... people do strange things under stress. I really really distrusted BW as he did/said some strange stuff at the beginning of this case but appears to have been cleared of any involvement which makes me more likely to give people the benefit of the doubt.

That makes the most sense. Since there is no shoulder on the bridge, other motorists would definitely notice someone stopped and throwing something off the bridge. The exit would provide seclusion.

Most of the people but not all (apparently i need to say this) that drive a Z71 around here are outdoorsman, hunters, fisherman or the truck is work related(farmer). Most people that live and work in the city do not need a $50,000 4 wheel drive truck.

Lol!...They are indeed covering. She just interviewed Tasha Patterson's mother. The girl who was solicited for sex, two months age, by a white male in a 4 door white truck. "He said he likes to ride around Lafayette looking for pretty girls.

CS was just live via Skype on Nancy Grace. She says LE advised them to call all local hospitals when they first reported her missing Saturday evening.

White male offered TP $80 in exchange for sex and told her he likes to go around looking for pretty women to pick up in his white truck.

This happenedd at 2PM in the afternoon. Didn't catch it or they didn't give the date that this happened.

I was actually followed to and from my neighborhood grocery store yesterday evening by a very similar truck. Luckily, I have a CHL and wasn't too concerned.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that my OCD regarding language is in overdrive. I can be pretty irritating about such things. :banghead:

I hadn't really noticed - well, yes, I did notice they are both pretty blondes - but another WS-er pointed out to me today that Holly and Mickey do look startlingly alike. And they do. But, as you say, the circumstances of the disappearance are starkly different. Also, I think Darden's nine hours from Lafayette. Looked it up the other day, I think that was it.
