NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The NOPD is searching for 32-year-old Nicole Gallagher, who was reported missing from the 1500 block of 6th Street.

The reporting person advised that Gallagher was last heard from on May 27 by family members in California.

Anyone with helpful information regarding Nicole Gallagher’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060.

Every time I see a new person missing from there, my heart sinks. There is literally nothing helpful in that news release.

FWIW, her winter hat in the photo looks like it could be a Green Bay Packers knit hat. The top IMO looks pretty similar to a vintage Nike Packers jersey for #34 Mike McKenzie, a former NFL player who was traded to the New Orleans Saints in 2004.

NEW ORLEANS – Sixth District detectives are searching for Nicole Gallagher (DOB: 02/27/1989), who was reported missing from the 1500 block of 6th Street.

The reporting person advised that Gallagher was last heard from on May 27 by family members in California.

When was she reported missing? Last week? Seems a long time from May 27.

Does she not have friends, partner, work colleagues who noticed her absence?

I'm very familiar with that area... Used to live about 6 blocks away and stay at a place less than 2 blocks from her last known whereabouts. That's a fairly decent area (by NOLA standards) but it goes downhill quick the farther you get from the river. The streetcars run all hours and there are stops close by... so she could've been elsewhere shortly after her last sighting. Hopefully she didn't decide to partake in a self-guided cemetery tour. As cool as the statuary and those crypts look - Lots of unsavory characters post up in 'em after dark.

There's little to be found on her online. There's a woman by her name that works for an Orleans Parish fire department but don't know if it's her or just someone with the same first and last name. No social media that I could find. No arrest records. She keeps a minimal blueprint online.

So she has family in CA... Any idea where Nicole was living? Visiting from CA? ...elsewhere? ...or was she calling NOLA or somewhere close by home at the time she dropped off the map?

Has there been any follow-up on this over the past 4 months?

Was watching this WBRZ clip posted in the Becky Hendrix thread and it made me wonder if perhaps this woman may have "ended up on a bus" after a chance encounter.

Just spitballing and speculating.

Still nothing? I hope this is one of those cases that has gone off radar due to it being resolved quietly and to the satisfaction of all involved...
Because the other most likely scenario is a woefully inadequate "investigation" (similar to the Becky Hendrix case)... going "out of sight, out of mind" due to this young woman's family living over a thousand miles away.
