Suggestion...please look through this thread on information posted in 2022 by @Tony1902. They received helpful information from Jefferson Parish Coroners office as well as where she was laid to rest.

Historical areas show that the golf course was fenced off in 1972. Everything was pretty much the same as now in 1972

Service alley was mostly grass instead of gravel. But that's about the main difference.

I'm not sure they are the same person?

Well here's the update, as such. Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office sent me some documents. Not prepared for morgue photo. Have sent PM to Carl k , Kell & will send to Trisha for attorney’s review.

She had NO drugs or alcohol in her system. She was well dressed & took care of herself. Brutal death. I don’t know what I can or cannot say since Louisiana is a ‘closed records’ state. It happened in July of 1979 close to midnight. I will contact othram, since she was taken care of by a local funeral home & buried in Kenner, LA (not too far away) she looked like someone I knew in college (late 60s early 70s) but age is not working. She was young. If she went to a working girls’ lifestyle, it wasn’t apparent in her autopsy. Blessed be.
She was buried. The other Doe in NamUS was supposedly cremated in about 1996?

The info i suggested everyone read from 2022 pertains to this thread (girl) only. I dont think the doe suggested from Namus is this girl.

I'm pretty sure it's her, but Namus probably just has errors. (Like usual) The info in Namus is often bare bones and lacking. Jefferson Parish and July 22, 1979 is no coincidence or they have the wrong date in Namus and it's another Doe in Jefferson Parish from another date and time...sigh.....

Ugh..that's not good..
They need this young girl in Namus, with the correct info!

Since its known where she's buried, I wonder why she hasn't been exhumed for DNA testing....Genealogy? I can't imagine its funding (?)
Is LSU the case holder?

I maybe of some help.

Back in February, I submitted a match to the LSU Faces lab for UP6942 and Phylis Marie Corbin. I ended up getting an email from Dr. Allaire from the LSU Faces lab and spoke to her over the phone. Indeed, UP6942 had been tested 3 times prior in order to get solid DNA. These attempts were unsuccessful. The remains themselves were cremated in 1996ish. The LSU Faces lab however was planning to try again either this year or next year to extract DNA from the mouth or aka mandible, According to Dr. Allaire, the LSU Faces lab could NOT rule out Phyllis Marie Corbin. The only exclusion was Mary Shinn based upon Dentals which Phyllis does not have.

It is my opinion, that the Old Metaire Jane Doe and UP6942 are one in the same. I have tried several times since to get ahold of Dr. Allaire but have been unsuccessful. It might be worth a call though to verify that they are one in the same.
This person says the Doe in NamUs was cremated in about 1996?

Cremated, but mandible and maxilla were stored.

I'm just not sure how that lines up with the subject of this thread being buried at a local cemetery. Were her cremains buried years later?

  • #232
So now im confused, was she cremated and mandible/maxilla stored or is she buried in a local cemetery in Kenner, LA?
Has anyone reached out to LSU about this? I have prior in regards to another case. They were prompt and very informative in their response email.

At least we know either way, there should be access to DNA....I hope.

Has anyone made the call to the LSU Repository yet?
