Oh good Lord! I was born and raised in Lafayette and lived there up until 5 years ago. I still have family and friends there. I lived just blocks away from this place.

This has me nervous. Wanting to know who these people were. My guess is that it's a domestic matter. Lots of ideas and potential people in my mind that I hope are not involved.

It looks like this movie is a chick-flick. I'm taking a GUESS that he wanted to target women. TOTAL GUESS at this point, willing to change my opinion in flash when we get more info.

I did hear it from two outlets

ah ha - police when they arrived heard 4 shots so maybe that is why he ran back in -- he left theatre saw the cops then went back in a killed himself

Usually if LE asks the media to not film live they are concerned about suspects seeing tactical response- so in this incident I'm at a loss as to why the media blackout.

HAZMAT on scene of Grand Theatre shooting
10:33 p.m. CDT July 23, 2015

Haz-Mat crews are reportedly on the scene of the shooting on Grand Theatre on Johnston Street. Media have been evacuated from the premises.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that Aries Marine CEO Bo Ramsay and his wife Gerri are among the wounded. Bo Ramsay was reportedly shot in the leg, and his wife grazed by a bullet. Neither injury is reportedly considered life-threatening.

Three have been confirmed dead in the shooting at Grand Theatre on Johnson Street, according to Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft.
He said seven are injured, with injuries ranging from critical to non-life threatening. None of the names of the victims have been released.

LE is doing a sweep of the Greenbriar Apartment Complex b/c a bomb threat was called in.
The complex is directly across the street from the theatre. A teacher was able to pull the emergency alarm.

LAFAYETTE, La. -- A gunman shot nine people inside of a movie theater Thursday night in Lafayette before turning the gun on himself.
The lone gunman, described as a white man in his 50s, opened fire inside of a showing of Trainwreck at the Grand Theater on Johnston Street in Lafayette, killing two people and injuring several others, according to officials.

Ha, News stations can shoot video from a public space I/E roadway or sidewalk that is not privately owned. Most cameras can zoom for a couple blocks.

The timing of it is strange it was like what 2 hours after incident but in the details found out a bomb scare

At 10:33, KATC reported that police were investigating a bomb threat at Greenbriar Condos on Doucet Road, across the street from the theater. The threat has caused media to be pushed back from the area.
