All along that street are shops with balconies, and every balcony is filled to the brim with people celebrating. Lots and lots of yelling and bead-throwing and waving from the balconies to those in the streets down below. He may have just been waving at people above who were waving at everyone.

Ok, that makes sense. I have been doing some reading on these balcony parties. The company offers various themes, like the “Sex, Drugs & Jazz.”

I also had not previously considered how huge Halloween is in NOLA.

Bourbon Street Balcony Parties
When: Throughout October.

This is New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar wearing the Meta glasses he used to record the French Quarter ahead of the attack. Also surveillance video of him placing the coolers containing IEDs.

On October 31, 2024, Jabbar recorded video from his Meta glasses as he rode a bicycle through the French Quarter.

The New Orleans Police officers who shot and killed Jabbar saved a lot of lives. FBI says the transmitters in Jabbar's car would have worked to set off the IEDs -- but police shot and killed him before he could use the transmitter.

How many times has the New Orleans mayor mentioned the Super Bowl during this press conference.

Mayor of New Orleans says Bourbon Street barricades installed now are part of the "Super Bowl package."Locals I have spoken to are so sick of hearing about what is being done for the Super Bowl.

Mayor of New Orleans now talking at press conference. She says they are getting ready for the Super Bowl. Locals have told me they are frustrated by such constant focus on Super Bowl -- they wonder why there wasn't focus on New Years and Sugar Bowl.

Family assistance center in New Orleans will open at 1pm this afternoon.Assistance will be provided to families of victims -- and also center will be the place people can get their personal items left behind at the crime scene.

ATF says the IEDs Jabbar used were not unique. But he did not use the correct device to set it off -- which is indicative to his lack of experience, the ATF says.

ATF recovered Jabbar's rifle and a pistol. He bought them from a private seller in Texas.Private seller did not know Jabbar was radicalized or anything about him. Private gun sales are legal in Texas.

Jabbar set fire to the New Orleans AirBnB he was staying in.ATF says he was trying to burn the place down -- but it smothered itself before it spread to accelerants Jabbar spread.

Jabbar placed first IED in cooler at 12:53am in New Orleans.Bystander dragged the cooler a block. FBI does not believe that bystander is involved in attack. 2:20am Jabbar places second IED. 3:15am Jabbar mows over victims.

Who cares about the ‘upcoming package’ plan for the Super Bowl when another major event was left unsecured?!! Any event is important when it involves securing adequate protection to spare people’s lives.

Latest update now from FBI on New Orleans terror attack:They believe suspect was radicalized online.FBI says these communications are difficult to track.

FBI says New Orleans terror suspect acted alone. They don't believe he had any help from people in the United States, but continue to look outside the US.

New Orleans terrorist Jabbar flew to Cairo, Egypt on June 22nd-July 3rd of 2023.Then flew to Ontario Canada.FBI looking into who he met with on those trips. Also traveled to New Orleans ahead of attack. He recorded video with Meta glasses traveling through the French Quarter.

cannot pay child support, but has $ for meta glasses, bike, trips, guns, truck rental, etc. Was his video in the cloud? really he could have recorded this with a gopro camera or his phone, so seems like not a key to his plan IMO unless I am missing something

"Video shows Jabbar placing the first improvised explosive device around 1:53 a.m. at Bourbon and St. Peters Street. The cooler with the IED inside was moved by a random person a block away at Bourbon and Orleans Street." New Orleans terror attack: All victims identified

Seems like this killer was very methodical. I can see how he might have done this solely. From a differing perspective, It would have been amazing if the person who moved that cooler had opened it up....the area would have been cleared possibly with live saved. Wow.
unless opening it also would have tripped the explosives?

Ok, that makes sense. I have been doing some reading on these balcony parties. The company offers various themes, like the “Sex, Drugs & Jazz.” Yikes….

I also had not previously considered how huge Halloween is in NOLA.

It’s because of the voodoo that is marketed to the FQ to attract people. Just another novelty way to create buzz. Halloween brings out the ‘voodoo’ vibe.

It continues on in the cemeteries. They do ghost tours. It’s all bs.

Ann Rice used to live there and she would host parties (Interview with the Vampire). I didn’t go for Halloween but even at other events the house was creepy. One room was filled with dolls staring at you when the door was opened.

The Pride parade is another huge and wild party in the FQ. It is deplorable what happens on the streets in full daylight.

Still 24-7 alcohol is the base and draw for the partiers. It’s the default for the hardcore.

ETA:there is a mentality in all of the NO officials that parties can be wilder due to the nature of the 24-7 alcohol.

Except that with the glasses, no one knows he's recording or "filming" anything.

Well, not while he's doing it anyway.

The other person moving the cooler seems odd to me. I don't believe they were involved. Just wondering if Jabbar had placed it in the right of way or perhaps in a business doorway. Thankful the person moving the cooler wasn't injured!
I hope Jabbar had a few seconds of life left after the cops shot him, to know he was on the way to hell.

That's quite possible, but it looked like more of an intended wave trying to acknowledge someone or get their attention to me. Not just a quick hey, hello or thanks for the beads type of wave, plus he's not wearing any beads before or after. He stopped and was texting just prior to the wave as well.

I've been to NO a couple of times and I'm familiar with the balcony and bead throwing custom. It's a circus to say the least, especially as the night progresses and the streets are literally packed with drunken people shoulder to shoulder.

Yes, It was almost like he identified a camera and waved with an intent to draw attention to himself.

The footage is spliced into multiple locations: addresses are approximate, true order of events is unknown due to splice. All based on the FBI released footage yesterday.

Area 1
516 Bourbon St.
Continues to record while riding down Bourbon St.

Area 2
? Intersection of ? And Camp St.
Brick sidewalk: Shops include a shoe store and praline shop

Area 3
222 Chartres St.

———-
1:38 Shirt has a spaceship (oddly similar to Livelsberger discussion) IMO
1:56 Standing by a cooler and on a device (phone?)

2:22 At a new location on the corner of ???
2:27 Looking at phone, looking around to identify the camera and waving at it.
Square Blue cooler is at his feet (also similar to one at scene in Vegas footage)

New Scene - Carrying a round blue cooler

3:02 New Scene on Possible Door Camera (Address ??)

1-1-25@01:12:38 walks past camera
1-1-25@02:03:02 walks back in path of camera
-Group in background- (Reportedly unrelated)
1-1-25@02:07:56 Hurriedly walks past camera again

Sounds good but it also requires addressing the systemic issues there. Historically in NO, the ones who are enlisted to investigate are part of the ‘cover-up’.

“Criticism and questions have been raised about New Orleans’ security protocol, in which it failed to deploy anti-vehicle barriers that it had owned for years. In addition, other barriers, known as bollards, had recently been removed because they were malfunctioning and needed to be replaced.

She said the review was expected to explore all aspects of planning and execution of security measures for New Year's Eve celebrations and the Sugar Bowl held on New Year's Day at the Superdome. She said ‘funding’, risk assessments and security policies would come under scrutiny.

Murrill said police and city officials have pledged their support for the review”

Rbm.

Re. the bolded ; 'Funding' (or the lack thereof) and 'risk assessment' should not prevent the necessity of keeping people safe.
They could enact it in a simpler & temporary -- yet cost effective -- way by parking sanitation trucks at all street entrances and have people park outside the perimeter and walk.
Anything would be better than flimsy barriers that are easily bypassed.
Just my .02.

Complete and utter speculation regarding perp's trip to Egypt followed by several days in Toronto, if it turns out it was not directly related to terrorism...imo.
He had 3 marriages (all gorgeous women) and apparently also 'paramours', so wondering if this randy dandy was possibly trying to hook up(unsuccessfully) with females in other countries?

Jan 2 '25
'' He ultimately convinced three glamorous women to marry him.
But the romance was not long-lived. None of his wives stuck around as all three unions spectacularly collapsed with at least one of them claiming she was abused.
Jabbar's most recent wife claimed in divorce papers that he destroyed the family finances with lavish 'gifts to paramours'.'
''Before Jabbar was even divorced from his first wife, he was already dating Tiera Symone Whitfield, now 34, across the country in Georgia.''

''Jabbar was also caught driving while intoxicated twice - in North Carolina in November 2014 and Fresno, Texas, in November 2020 - despite Muslims not being allowed to drink alcohol at all.''

Why? He is driving down Bourbon street committing mass murder, what does he care if his firearm is loud?

The privately made silencers will be classified by ATF Firearms and Ammunition Technology Division (FATD). One of the silencers was attached to the rifle as Jabbar attempted to muffle the sound when he fired the weapon. Another silencer was recovered at the Mandeville Street residence.
