2 murdered in Jefferson Davis Parish, no suspects at this time
so in this video they say they went to the house for a welfare check and other news articles say they weren’t answering the phones? does anyone know for sure why they went to the house

"Mr. Gotreaux has a neighbor that works with him helping him feeding the cattle and everyday little chores and Mr. Gotreaux wasn't answering the phone and he tried several times, so he got nervous and called 911," Woods said.

It sounds to me like they weren’t answering phone calls from the neighbor, the neighbor called 911, and the police performed a welfare check.

Elderly couple’s deaths appear to be ‘targeted act’
guys!!! they said they were found in their bedroom!!! okay so maybe whoever did it was planning to rob/kill them and so when they kicked open the door maybe they ran to their bedroom? maybe asleep but i figured they would hear the door being kicked in

It always makes me extremely uncomfortable when any LE precieves or assumes something before the darn suspect is even known to them.

This couple could have easily been targeted by a stranger home invader but the way LE infers they were personally targeted by someone they knew.

Now that may turnout to be true once they know and have arrested the suspect or suspects but in so many cases they implied the very same thing and when they finally did find the culprit they were strangers to the victims.

I just wish they wouldnt keep saying this at a time when they have no clue who the suspect even is. Imo

I wonder why the neighbour didn't go check themselves? Seems a bit odd.

Probably so as not to implicate himself in the crime.

Two suspects are now wanted for the homicide. 23-year-old Javari Guidry and 21-year-old Jordan Alexander Legros are wanted on aggravated burglary and first-degree murder charges.

Police are currently searching for them.

The two reside locally in Jeff Davis Parish but are not from the area originally. Two locations of residence include Houston and Welsh. They may be in those locations but deputies say that their whereabouts are unknown."

"Guidry was convicted of attempted murder in connection with a July 2015 shooting on North Loop in Lafayette, Cormier said.

In Calcasieu, Guidry pleaded guilty in November 2017 to aggravated assault with a firearm, according to information from Patsy Dugas, spokesperson for the Calcasieu District Attorney’s Office. The incident happened in May 2015 in Vinton. Guidry was sentenced to three years with the Department of Correction with credit for time served, but Dugas said it appears he served less than a year on that conviction.

Guidry was transferred from Calcasieu Correctional Center in February 2018 to Lafayette, where he entered a re-entry program. He was paroled in June 2018."

Convicted of attempted murder in Lafayette and pled guilty to aggravated assault in Calcasieu. How was this guy not still in prison, at least on the attempted murder conviction? How in the heck did he get parole after 4 months? If he had still been in prison, where he clearly belonged, this couple would still be alive.
