Lamar Odom fighting for life after overdosing at brothel

I hope so. That makes sense. But I hope lamar does not take it the wrong way then.
He is getting what he needs from her at the moment which is love and care. He probably isn't thinking about the future as much as he is concentrating on recovering and finding out if his kidneys or other organs are going to fail him. The rest can wait. I don't imagine Khloe is planning life outside of taking care of him for the next few months either. First things first.

I truly do not think it matters what they do or don't do, they would be bashed.

They are supporting/ visiting Lamar= they are exploiting him.
If they did nothing and carried on they would be lambasted for not caring/ abandoning him in his time of need.

I am convinced they could drop everything, go to Armenia, and build a school for impoverished children.....and people would still have a problem with it.
This made me laugh out loud because it's totally true.

Could it be that Khloe has finally seen that the price of constant publicity is a price too high? I hope she takes herself, Lamar, and Rob far away from the spotlight so they can start the healing process in private.

Sounds like Lamar has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Khloe sounds like a stand up girl and I'm glad to hear the divorce is called off for the time being so she is able to make decisions in his best interest. It may be a long haul for her but she and he have plenty of money to afford the best care available.

I cared for my gravely ill Mother and brother in another state 9 hours away the last two years. My life was put on hold, I stayed there weeks and even months at a time. If I was able to come home for a few days, a crisis would happen and I'd have to rush back. When my Mom broke her first hip Labor Day '13 she was placed in a rehab facility and my brother was in the hospital with pancreatitis. Mom's dementia had not yet progressed to full blown alzheimers but she had been forgetting to pay her bills and she had sticky notes with reminders all over her house. So one of the first things I did was see an atty to draw up papers for me to be her atty-at-large (power of atty) so I could make medical & financial decisions on her behalf and she signed the papers. She had always told me what to do and informed me of her finances and investments in case she got sick. Thankfully.

Anyway, the point of this OT is that I understand why Khloe and Lamar put the divorce on hold. His attys and financial advisors can help her navigate thru handling his affairs. Mom only had modest investments and it was alot of pressure and big responsibility for me but the atty and her financial advisors helped me a great deal.

I have a question about law. IF LO's family in NY wanted to challenge this decision to stay married and appoint a conservator for Lamar, could they do this from NY? His children are still minors right? I don't foresee them doing such a thing as they seem very supportive of Lamar. I'm just curious how it is in other states because I was in process of having a conservator for Mom before she died, I could not be appointed because I was a resident of another state.

I pray for Lamar to recover and for Divine guidance and strength for Khloe while they navigate back to wellness. And I hope she gives a BIG middle finger to any contractural obligations and the show at this time.

My two cents. wm

Odom had a “grapefruit-sized” bruise on his pelvis, believed to be the result of shooting up the dangerous drug cocktail with needles of heroin-and-cocaine “speedball”.

Also:

“But we never had sex with Lamar — not once!” Ryder insisted. “He didn’t even kiss us or touch us the entire time!”

Blood was coming out of him,” said Ryder. “He wouldn’t wake up. I even tried to ice his genitals. Someone said that might revive him, but it didn’t!”

In more positive news....

The National Basketball Players Association executive director said that Lamar Odom's crisis has "reignited" discussions to create a program to aid NBA players who are transitioning toward retirement.

Those women just need to hush! Lamar's children and elderly grandmother and aunt and Khloe and Lamar don't need to hear all this mess right now. Geesh!

It's easy to swear off drugs when you're in a hospital bed after coming out of a coma and you have your ex-wife standing there willing to take you back after your near death experience and you can't get to da club and you don't feel like a partay anyway etc ...

The issue is the underlying causes for addiction, people can swear off drugs and suddenly get addicted to some other vice, like gambling, or food, etc. This will be a long and windy road, but I wish them all the best.

True that, Mrs G Norris! However, I feel like Lamar's recovery will take some time and hopefully he will have time to completely withdraw from the drugs. IMO, he was on a binge of excess in everything when his body could no longer take any more....drugs, booze, sex, food, steaks, chicken etc. I'm hoping Khloe will pull a 'June Carter Cash' and run off any hangars on and evil doers if/when Lamar recovers....and who knows how long that will be.

My brother finally gave up the booze when the doctors told him that he WAS gonna die and it would be sooner than later if he didn't give it up. Addiction sucks, doesn't it!?

It looks like it was first reported on 10/20 that he was suffering from aspiration pneumonia.

Given the report above that LO now has pneumonia, if he dies no doubt his family will challenge the rescission of the divorce.

I would have liked to have seen him stay at the hospital in Las Vegas until his condition was more stable. I really don't understand the rush to move him. Honestly, I was a little surprised the Dr's signed off on the transfer.

I think Lamar and Khloe both signed the paperwork:

"Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser appeared in court early Wednesday with a request for dismissal signed by Odom on Tuesday, apparently from his bed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles."

Special treatment for celebrities, has often meant bad medical decisions hasn't it?
