Lamar Odom fighting for life after overdosing at brothel

  • #761
I would have liked to have seen him stay at the hospital in Las Vegas until his condition was more stable. I really don't understand the rush to move him. Honestly, I was a little surprised the Dr's signed off on the transfer.

Actually, I'm surprised they didn't move him sooner. Vegas is not exactly known for having top quality medical facilities. ... quite the opposite. Most residents, if they have the means, go to LA for anything serious or complicated.

I think Lamar and Khloe both signed the paperwork:

"Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser appeared in court early Wednesday with a request for dismissal signed by Odom on Tuesday, apparently from his bed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles."

Of course LO signed the paperwork, I never meant to imply that he didn’t. One could question what types of medications he was on at the time, though. Oh, and have they completed all the tests for brain damage? Depending on how severe his medical duress was, he may not have been capable of understanding what he was signing.

That's what I would argue if I had reason to challenge the rescission. Or if I were the cynical sort.

I wondered the other day with an article posted, about the two girls not getting paid, if someone put a stop on the payment?

I'm not sure. Seems like payment would've gone through almost immediately though. Maybe it's different when the charge is such a large amount? I've never charged anywhere near that amount so I don't have a clue how that works. LOL.

Me either LOL I don't know how that works, it seems odd they haven't been paid.

I thought I'd read that the girls gave the check back? Does anyone else recall that? Or am I mistaken?

The owner said HE wouldn't pay them because he believes they broke rules.
He never said HE didn't get the money from Lamar.
He gets paid then pays the girls and he won't pay them.

Not a nurse but a chest tube to drain fluid would be consistent with his reported condition.

Oh jeez....I'm assuming (yes, I know) that by breaking the rules he is referring to drugs. That's a far cry from what his story was at first.

It sure seemed to happen fast since just a few days ago he was doing so much better.

That and one of them gave Odom her phone number.

Due to their lack of reliable sources plus the contradictory nature of them, I've believed none of the reports about how well Lamar has been doing. There could be some kernels of truth in such reports, but I'm likelier to think not, given the cast of characters.

Hoping for the best for him in all respects.

Sounds like Lamar has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Khloe sounds like a stand up girl and I'm glad to hear the divorce is called off for the time being so she is able to make decisions in his best interest. It may be a long haul for her but she and he have plenty of money to afford the best care available.

I cared for my gravely ill Mother and brother in another state 9 hours away the last two years. My life was put on hold, I stayed there weeks and even months at a time. If I was able to come home for a few days, a crisis would happen and I'd have to rush back. When my Mom broke her first hip Labor Day '13 she was placed in a rehab facility and my brother was in the hospital with pancreatitis. Mom's dementia had not yet progressed to full blown alzheimers but she had been forgetting to pay her bills and she had sticky notes with reminders all over her house. So one of the first things I did was see an atty to draw up papers for me to be her atty-at-large (power of atty) so I could make medical & financial decisions on her behalf and she signed the papers. She had always told me what to do and informed me of her finances and investments in case she got sick. Thankfully.

Anyway, the point of this OT is that I understand why Khloe and Lamar put the divorce on hold. His attys and financial advisors can help her navigate thru handling his affairs. Mom only had modest investments and it was alot of pressure and big responsibility for me but the atty and her financial advisors helped me a great deal.

I have a question about law. IF LO's family in NY wanted to challenge this decision to stay married and appoint a conservator for Lamar, could they do this from NY? His children are still minors right? I don't foresee them doing such a thing as they seem very supportive of Lamar. I'm just curious how it is in other states because I was in process of having a conservator for Mom before she died, I could not be appointed because I was a resident of another state.

I pray for Lamar to recover and for Divine guidance and strength for Khloe while they navigate back to wellness. And I hope she gives a BIG middle finger to any contractural obligations and the show at this time.

My two cents. wm

They would have to prove that Lamar wasn't of sound mind when he signed the papers. Other than that it's married couple that got back together because of a crisis, just like many other couples. No special treatment just asking a backlogged judge to nevermind for now,we're going to try and work our problems out, and you wish them the best.

I can understand a chest tube as one procedure. and I wonder with early reports about possible heart trouble stent? or a pacemaker?

What To Expect During Pacemaker Surgery

Placing a pacemaker requires minor surgery. The surgery usually is done in a hospital or special heart treatment laboratory.

Before the surgery, an intravenous (IV) line will be inserted into one of your veins. You will receive medicine through the IV line to help you relax. The medicine also might make you sleepy.

Your doctor will numb the area where he or she will put the pacemaker so you don't feel any pain. Your doctor also may give you antibiotics to prevent infection.

First, your doctor will insert a needle into a large vein, usually near the shoulder opposite your dominant hand. Your doctor will then use the needle to thread the pacemaker wires into the vein and to correctly place them in your heart.

An x-ray "movie" of the wires as they pass through your vein and into your heart will help your doctor place them. Once the wires are in place, your doctor will make a small cut into the skin of your chest or abdomen.

He or she will slip the pacemaker's small metal box through the cut, place it just under your skin, and connect it to the wires that lead to your heart. The box contains the pacemaker's battery and generator.

Once the pacemaker is in place, your doctor will test it to make sure it works properly. He or she will then sew up the cut. The entire surgery takes a few hours.

I don't have links to support, so this is ~jmo~: One article stated that the two handed back the checks before leaving the brothel.

Special treatment for celebrities, has often meant bad medical decisions hasn't it?
Especially bad treatment spelled Andy Warhol's death.

I suspect lamar has kidney/heart damage and problems. He may not be out of the woods...
