Her and DM supposedly took the subway or train to his house? Their phones are pinging together.

Just because she said DR, means nothing. She could have been going with anyone and lying about who was taking her. Maybe DM told her he was taking her, and she didn't want her friends to know.

Maybe DM had a fake phone and set her up.

Maybe he knew she was going, and was jealous someone else was spending money on her...said he could drive her to the airport something.

So many possibilities.

I guarantee you there are texts between them though, that will lay it all out.

It is not good that this witness said that she was going on a trip with a dr. That makes it look more like she was with all these strange men and anything could have happened. People thought DM said they were going on a trip, but it was not him but a dr. I think the phone messages will be important that she made to DM. They were the last ones she made. It is a weird lifestyle she was leading just going from place to place and yet she could have stayed at her parents home. It was also unsafe lifestyle. She it seems was not afraid of DM that she should have been.

I think it was Millard offering the trip. He was with CN so may have told her not to tell anyone that he was taking her. She says this on the 2nd, that she is leaving the next day, which just so happens to be the day that she ends up at Millards.

It was strange. It came up when he was questioning BD about statements to the police about the type of suitcase he was Laura using. He never seemed to get to his point other than to ask if BD recognized who was in the picture (it was DM) and went so far to ask if removing his (DM's) eye glasses would help. He never came out and asked if he saw LB with that suitcase.

This whole thing is odd. I feel like through DM questioning of people in the know they are sharing little cryptic messages. (like insider knowledge we aren't privy to), for example, recognize this suitcase? Better keep quiet or I'll let it be known you do etc. Maybe drugs etc who knows. It feels like a form of blackmail to me the way he's mentioned this strange stuff with no "purpose", except I have a hard time believing there isn't a purpose. Moo

Millard asks Blasiak about Babcock's cocaine use. He watched her use it when they last hung out, he says.

Millard now refers to the text messages we saw earlier. Blasiak says he does not recall the conversation at all. He confirms he received and sent them.

Okay , so you think she made it up that a dr. was taking her on a trip. I guess that is how DM lured her to his place to go on the trip. She was really happy about going on the trip and little did she know what plans DM had. Sadistic 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Millard has finished cross examination. Smich's lawyer Thomas Dungey has no questions.

Millard definitely has the upper hand with some witnesses that he knows are taking part in sketchy behaviour. Like the escort client guy, going through a divorce/custody battle. He knows that guy isn't going to admit to doing cocaine. Having lived through the 80s there is one thing I can tell you, I've never come across anyone that would tun down cocaine when offered. So in this trial not one person has admitted partaking with LB. IMO some of these people are lying. I know it, Millard knows it.

There are some legal arguments, so Justice Michael Code has excused the jury for the day.

We're done now and will post an in-depth look at today's testimony a little later.

Thank you as always for reading and connecting.

I agree. I think the Dr was the guy at the hotel who was offering to pay her rent. She just used his identity because it was convenient.

I don't know, a lot of the times they were with her weren't exactly party scenes.

I partied hard in my time, but never touched that stuff. I think they are being as honest as they can remember.

It really doesn't matter who LB did coke with, does it? What matters is who killed her.

We haven't heard the whole story anyway, or at least the part that puts LB in DM's hands.

Doesn't matter at all. But it chips away at credibility. Guy takes out an escort and says he didn't have sex with her? Guy sits around watching someone else do lines and doesn't join in? I don't blame those people for not admitting that stuff, but to me I can tell that not all of them are being honest.

When you are smoking weed and doing lines, and probably drinking, its a part scene. Not saying they are all lying, but some of them are.

not always in my experience, some people are just users and use anywhere!

Well Millard is one of those guys on the scene, don't forget. He turned out to be a little far from the prep school kids that has never been in trouble with the law.

I think the Crown already stated that her phone, Millard's phone, and Smich phone were all at Maplegate that day.

I only recall hearing about DM and LB phones going to Maplegate, but I haven't seen the Crown's opening posted yet:

"From opening: Evidence will show Millard, Laura phones travelling from Kipling station to Millard Maple Gate home" (from ABro's tweets that were opened up for Days 1 and 2)

I highly doubt there is any DNA evidence. We know there was very little left that could be identified as TB, I assume there was nothing left of LB. Plus, even in recent articles LBs parents stated that they still held hope that she was alive somewhere. If cops had found remains they certainly would have informed the family.

The general public (we) would not know about that.

oh okay Andreww, wow I would not have thought of that. I agree with many comments that many of these people are lying but they are protecting themselves to not admit they did drugs with her. She was surrounded by people using drugs. I really think to DM she was disposable because of the problems she had and bouncing around all over , no permanent address , could say homeless that made her an easy prey for him. He was right because when people went to the police , the police did not want to investigate it , so he is fairly clever when it comes to crimes. He thought he had the perfect way to dispose of a body , the eliminator. Tim Bosma came from such a big extended loving family and that got the attention of the media and police. Laura s lifestyle caused the police to ignore her disappearance and DM did get away with things for a long time. I am glad the case is moving along quickly and hope the Crown can get there evidence all available. Enough time having to be aware of DM, just want him to go away.

Laura is not listed with the coroner as deceased.

Hi Gang,

I am new to this site but have been following both trials. I was thinking at the time the Crown called the Doctor as a witness, what was the point? Now I realize the Crown did it to throw a wet blanket on this "Doc taking LB on a trip" angle that DM would more than likely use to say..."see it wasn't me...it was the Doctor". After all someone said earlier, he came to court with his wife...

P.S. I hope my first post transcribed okay :)
