I'm watching CBC Toronto's 6.00 pm news and Shannon Martin revealed that on July 4th, the iPad was connected to the internet through DM's computer and renamed "Mark's Computer". This important information wasn't in her twitter feed this afternoon, that I saw.
Not that I don't believe you but, did she say which witness testified to this? I understand it wasn't tweeted but we haven't heard from the device experts yet.

Millards ineptitude coming through. I detect a bit of frustration. Is it due to the way he phrased his questions that he questions weren't answered or that he was asking questions that the witness couldn't answer? This is just the start. If he can't manage to have his Qs answered on cell tower pings, how well is he going to fair in the heavier tech and forensic data? Or, perhaps, he's gained some sympathy with the jury? We all have questions we want answered....

Yes I agree. Inept. I believe this witness has testified before... likely many times... and seems to know what is within their area of expertise, and when they cannot answer. Frustrating for DM. No sympathy.
He picked a great time to be learning law... while representing himself in a murder charge. Looks good on him.

It was in the Crown's opening address.

Would the Ipad not have most likely been password protected? Hate to think of what they put her through before the murder.

So are we assuming it's given she was shot? If it happened at the house the neighbours would surely hear? Just because he had guns doesn't mean they shot her. It would be much safer between the 2 of them to suffocate her with a pillow no?

And also going back to the gun purchase back in February for a second. It sure doesn't sound like he was buying it just to do robberies. Clearly by saying it will be dirty upon return he clearly had murder in mind. Now was it for LB? Or someone else? So is there any evidence as to whether he returned it to MWJ or not? Because if he did and it was returned before July 3rd clearly it wasn't used on her...i still don't get the whole gun purchase then the return her safe plz texts.....enough ranting

1 more thing. Wouldn't his dad be home at this time? Weekday evening? So what about him? Maybe he knew or found out? Maybe that's why DM killed him?

I had this thought, too. Perhaps WM was threatening to tell, like when/if they got into arguments or something like that.

How is it though that it took 11 months to charge him/them with the other murders. Maybe the evidence is not as strong as we think. 11 months is a long time..

Just speculation, but it seemed to me that it may have been in relation to something to do with mwj. Won't be surprised if he is a witness in this trial... altho... wouldn't it be risky for him to be considered a 'snitch' at this point? (I'm assuming he is still in jail?)

Don't doubt they dumped the ashes in the lake, not the body.
Throwing cremated ashes in the lake could be problematic. The ashes does not dissolve with the water easily. I am referring to our sweet feline that we lost and she was cremated. We wanted to scatter her ashes at the cottage near some of her favorite haunts. Some of the ashes was still floating on top. I personally think LB's remains were in the swamp area at DMs farm. My opinion onlly.

Maybe he was in a fog holed away in his own bedroom at the time OF.. but something happened some 5 months later which brought it to light, and he encouraged DM to do the right thing and confess? So he had to 'go'?

Not ranting, I wondered the same thing...could there have been another victim in mind for the gun--even his fiance for that matter since the house they lived in hadn't sold until Feb '12 (someone said it was in her name probably from Abro's book)?

If he shot her it would be messy. He could have shot her July 2 when the fireworks was going off at Centennial Park 10-11. Sounds similar. speculation

If he wanted to shoot her why not just take her for a drive to the farm at night and do it there? Makes no sense to plan a murder at his dad's house in a heavily residential area then dealing with transporting the body to the car then just to end up at the farm in the first place? But nothing he does makes sense. This is very frustrating lol it's like reading a super captivating book with key pages missing and you hold the only copy

I was thinking more one the gravel pits around the corner from the hanger. To me a good place to get rid of the remains :(

Not sure how things worked back in 2013 but to my knowledge, the only way to rename an Ipad and connect it to a new Itunes account is to know the email and password for the old one. Since the Ipad belonged to SL, I'm not sure if this was necesary back then or if you just had to put it in recovery mode and take it back to manufacturer condition.

I don't recall in anything I've read if SL was ever asked about whether the Ipad had a passcode. I would assume that all that information will come out when the electronic evidence for it and the phones is presented.

Just doing sone browsing in Tims trial threads. Randomly picked a day which happened to be SS testimony. This makes my head spin. Was SS already trying to cover for DM on LB back then ?

Schlatman says Millard knew how to operate it. 'I showed him how to use it, the instruction booklet' #Bosma

Needed to do a test burn, to break in the fire brick. Schlatman did the test burn without Millard. Taught Millard how to use Eliminator.

Schlatman did the test or 'break-in' burn. Millard wasn't there for that, but he says he did know how to use it. He showed him how. #Bosma

Schlatman says he did the first burn on the Eliminator and he also taught Millard how to use it

Schlatman says he gave Millard instructions around August, Sept. #Bosma

Interesting to note that LB's phone was a Blackberry. Even if they had recovered it, it probably wouldn't have given them a lot of info if it had all been deleted. They are the most secure phones available. I'm surprised MS didn't want to keep that too. He did have a collection of phones and seemed to like Blackberry. ;)
