From yesterday's cellphone evidence, Smich's phone stops near his mom's in Oakville on July 4th. Laura's phone and Dellen's continue westbound. Did Smich take her bag at that time , including the ipad? Maybe Marlena saw the bag that night and contents and wanted the ipad for herself?

You aren't getting it. Smich had already claimed it mere hours after the murder. There was no opportunity for Millard to promise it to her.

Yes, they simply need the police officer who seized the evidence to testify as to where, when and how it was seized.

It would then be up to the jury to make the inference that if it was in CN's room, then she knew of it and was in possession of it.

It was SLs iPad. He'd only loaned it to here a few days before. They hadn't seen each other, so how would he know? Even if she mentioned it, how would he know she would bring it?

Is it possible that MS was talking or texting with MM on the phone from the Maplegate house that night Perhaps he was making cryptic comments about DM acquiring an IPad that he was giving away, she asked if she could have it and he told her DM said yes she could have it?

Or she asked for it days after it was renamed and DM said yes, not knowing that MS had renamed it.

That's all I can think of that doesn't actually place her at the home when LB was there. :waitasec:

No, Smich claimed the iPad before they left Millards house. And your timeline is wrong as well. All three phones left Millards and headed south to the lakeshore in Mississauga. Its there where LBs phone disappeared. I believe Smich was dropped in Oakville and Millard continued to Kitchener. That was my understanding anyway.

Speaking of that statement. Didn't they say LB's phone disappeared off the grid around Indian Grove? That area is some 20 minutes east of MS residence in Oakville. Meaning 20 mins before he drops of MS LB' phone is done...So how is it that they say DM's phone and LB's phone continued on after MS' stayed in Oakville.

I hope they show the txt messages between LB and DM. I wonder what he told her to get her to come to the house. Plus between DM and SM. Probably some fkd up stuff like I got the meat with me. Soon the the fun will begin. Or some equally messed up crap. I swear these psychos treated all of this like some game. With their codes and missions etc. DM is crazy as hell.

The texts will likely be about the trip she talked about. I doubt there will be many texts between MS and DM because they were together for the whole day. Was Smich living on Maplegate at that point?

Oh I had no idea he was there. I thought DM picked him up or something...but if he was living there why did DM seemingly drop him off in Oakville the next morning?

I'd have to review MM testimony before offering my opinion about the timing of her complaint she didn't get the iPad. It's possible there was more than one iPad or a promise or one that never materialized. DM liked to steal. Perhaps he offered to get her one. She testified he would buy or get her things in exchange for work she did for him. One day MS shows up with an iPad and she is mad because DM promised her one. Like I said, I'd have to review her testimony to see if she was promised that particular iPad.

ETA: I replied to you Kamille but only because it was the last iPad related post I saw. It's not directed at you but the subject of the iPad.

I still have no clarity on just what the jury has been told about that IPad with regards to ownership. I think it's very important to establish that SL LOANED the IPad to LB so that she could use it to look for an apartment. Shannon Martin has reported, more than once, that it was Laura's IPad that SL gave to her.

It's important because if the jury believes that SL gave her the IPad to keep, then it was also hers to sell. If she knew she had to return it, that's just one more reason why MS should not have been in possession of it.

I understand what your saying. I do think it was clear that SL gave LB the iPad within the week she went missing. We all get it here, despite Shannon Martin repeatedly reporting it was a gift. He testified it was a work iPad and so I don't think anyone on the jury assumed it was to keep.

He didn’t give it to her because he is an awful human being, which is why he killed at least one person.

Depends on how it was written and an interpretation. I'd have to see Rebelo's mapping demonstration myself to fully understand.
