I know there was a shower at the hangar, so.. was there time for DM to get cleaned up and have that shot taken? What would be the purpose of DM asking someone (presumably SS) to take a shot of him at that time?? Was he really potentially covering his own butt already???

It does look like a staged photo to me. Like a previous poster said, who stands on a bucket? looks like he is even showing both his hands are clean. Unless maybe someone has an idea what he is doing in that spot, like a quick adjustment then I can see the bucket,but imo I think it would be closer to the plane than it is. Did he have time to take a quick flight to dispose of anything?Almost looks like the bucket/pail is missing a lid and if so wouldn't he have turned it over or used something else? Or as you say it is some trick with photo shop and he is playing with the court.

SS 'replaced' his cellphone I believe, from memory.. also may have replaced his wife's.. at the time I think he said he finally had a chance to go to the store to change phones (I believe it may have been the day DM told all of the employees not to show up at the hangar the day after TB was murdered)... will look it up...

from SC's trial tweets on March 21, 2016:

"Schlatman and wife went for lunch in #HamOnt and got new cell phones on day off. He says they'd been planning for new phones. #Bosma Mar 21, 2016"

This was testimony from SS as to what he did on May 7th, 2013, the day after TB's murder, when all of the employees were told to stay away from the hangar.

also, from BillAndrew's spreadsheet:

"May 7 12:00 pm During day, Schlatman phone cancelled with Rogers, number transferred to Telus. Bosma Day 6: Fortier testimony"

So SS ditched the phone, and the sim card (?? or would he have kept the sim card?? and if so, would contents have been able to be seen from previous provider??), changed providers, and kept the same #. So all police would have had access to would have been what was discovered on DM's phone/computer backups. Unfortunately SS's phone from when LB was incinerated would have been long gone by the time the case was investigated.

I wasn't able to follow along much at all on Tuesday, so catching up now on the tweets and live-blog.. and now here.. I noticed in one part where it said a blue tarp was found crumpled in the barn - but then I saw another part by another tweeter, that there was a statement saying grommets were found in the incinerator. So does it seem that the blue tarp (presumably wrapping the 'spliff') was put into the incinerator, or..... was removed first? TY!!

Nevermind, I disqualified my own question.. since, if the blue tarp that HAD been wrapped around a 'spliff' was discovered, police would have most certainly had DNA evidence that LB was on it, and at the farm, which they don't seem to indicate that they have. And, the mention of a blue tarp being found in the barn was made by DM himself, I suppose to expect the jury to believe that it is the same tarp... however, he dug himself deeper, since wouldn't that simply further confirm that DM did make use of such tarps, for whatever purpose?

Those who have photoshopping skills..... is it possible that DM could have taken 2 separate photos and merged them into one - one with the plane by itself... and one with DM standing on the bucket - and photoshopped to make it appear that he was standing next to the plane? I am hazarding a guess that that is indeed possible, but if that were done, is it possible to make the data show a date of July 4th and no indication that it was photoshopped?

PS - is there another photo available of DM which was taken on July 4th/12 to see if he looked the same in both pics, ie hair/facial hair, etc?

This shows the cell towers that connected to Babcock, Millard and Smich's phones.

Another powerpoint (58 slides in total) from 4 a.m. July 4, 2012 to 11;30 pm July 4, 2012.

Rubello now shows us Babcock's phone records from midnight July 4, to 11pm the same night.

It's all incoming calls and texts.

Earlier today, a Rogers investigator told the jury the last outgoing call from Babcock's phone was made near Millard's home

This shows Babcock + Millard's phone connect to tower at 210 Markland Dr in Etobicoke, which we've heard is 100s metres from Millard's home.

We see another powerpoint presentation that details cell activity from 7pm July 3, 2012 to 1am July 4, 2012.

Rubelo testifies Babcock and Millard's phone connect to the same cell tower near Kipling station during the afternoon of July 3, 2012.

Rubelo created a powerpoint to track movements of 3 mobile phones connected to Babcock, Millard, Smich, from July 3, 2012 to July 4, 2012.

Crown says he's laying framework for maps and will get Rubelo to explain sequencing shortly, so we'll have a better idea of what she found.

We now see another map, showing more cell towers, seven in total, in addition to the residential address in Etobicoke, and Kipling Station.

The cell towers are:
210 Markland Drive in Etobicoke
5324 Dundas St West (near Kipling Station)

There are yellow dots with addresses on them - these identify cell towers, and locations related to the case.

In addition to seeing a list of Babcock's phone records, the court is now being shown a map.

We can see a spreadsheet projected on several large screens in the courtroom.

The Crown has handed out a large booklet to members of the jury, that Rubelo created as part of her investigation.

She was provided telephone records from this case, analyzed them and created maps.

Crown Ken Lockhart calls the next witness, Nicole Rebelo. She's an intelligence analyst with the Toronto Police Service.

This morning, a Rogers Communications investigator told jury members Babcock's phone was used for the last time at 7:03 p.m. July 3, 2012 - which she testified also connected to the same tower near Millard's home.

Rubelo now shows us cellphone activity connected to Millard's phone from 9 am. July 4, 2012 to 2pm July 4, 2012.

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned... I’m relatively new to these horrific cases, and brand new here. I’m curious if that could be a bucket of tar he is standing on. I know many think the “black tar”text is referring to drugs, but I’m not convinced he did heroin. (Oil or hash i’m sure he probably did). Just was curious on your thoughts, as I’m still trying to wrap my head around all this. I love reading everyone’s thoughts and theories.

Thanks so much to everyone posting tweets, thoughts, and esp billandrew for the timeline. It really helped me catch up a lot quicker than i would have otherwise!

It's a good question about the tar! My impression was that they might have been adding to their 'merchandise' in the yellow toolbox, trying to establish their 'drug king-pin' empire. But it might have been as you said - simply tar.

I’m not an expert by any means, but I have Photoshop skills (and completed college - take that, DM lol). I’ve done what you’re questioning many times - taken an item/person from one photo and placed it into another. Or moved an item/person within the same photo.

I zoomed in as much as I could on my phone, but I don’t see any obvious tell-tale signs of that being done. There are lots of things I look for - stray pixels, a halo around the person, inconsistent lighting and/or shadow, inconsistent colour and saturation, “mistakes” where a little too much may have been shaved off an edge, the finicky bits like hair and between fingers that would take a while to perfect, etc.

Looks legit upon first glance, IMO.

DM is standing on a bucket, right side up and with the lid intact. The bucket appears to be name brand ESSO and more then likely, motor oil or hydraulic oil. Both used in planes. To my un-trained eye, it does not appear to be photoshopped.

I just threw it out there as it seems to me I had seen it written before that tar can help to prevent smell. Jeez I hate writing that. “Barn check smell is just so disturbing”, as is almost every aspect of these cases.

1) Bucket has a lid that comes completely off, like a asphalt bucket.
2) The bottom of the bucket looks like it is metal.

Oh i see it's a black lid! I thought lid was off, and to me it looked like his foot was in too far with the sole of his shoe as black as his heart and soul

The lid is black because it is dirty. Search "esso 20 litre pail"
