Not revealing search locations to protect privacy of homeowners.

It would be nice if it was true.....duh, just look at the people along the roads searched this weekend and you'll see homeowners and people saying: "They asked me if they could search my property" or "I didn't expect them to come back again".

I'm a calling bs on that comment, and think he said it to gain confidence.

Doing a reconstruction of the cars in the lot two months seems elementary to me.

  • #243
did anyone get the feeling they were close to a resolution (as I hoped and prayed) cause i sure didn't... :(

Not even a little bit, matter of fact, I found myself impatient and irritated at the lack of progress and the ridiculous requests of people 2 months after the fact. moo mho

My faith in LE has plummeted...why didn't they do a reconstruction of the lot months ago? Many posters suggested it back then...if LE did not think of even that, I am worried...:(

what if they have just developed the information. ????????

I personally have not lost any faith that they are doing all they can to find Kyron and prosecute those who had a hand in his vanishing.

moo

I would say more but I don't want a time out. I just don't see how all these different agencies can be screwing up/doing things wrong and backwards.

Asking people to remember a generic white truck with no hint about what specifically to look for, from two months ago. Except maybe something unusual was taking place. I think this kind of request is ridiculous. Didn't a questionnaire already come out with the same question only with pictures of a person? moo

I agree. I don't think they actually hope to gain more info.
I think this is a pressure tactic meant to show DS and TH that they know a lot about where they were, have witnesses, etc., to scare them in the hopes that one will roll over on the other. (Actually, that DS will roll over on TH, I think). After all, DS' picture is plastered all over that flyer.

Is there any good reason for the truck to be on the access road?

The school lot is pretty small. And then factor in all the vehicles coming in for the science fair. I'm not surprised it was used for parking.

The PC was a lot of nothing, IMO.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I agree with squid. Perhaps locals don't know that TH supposedly went to 2 Fred Meyers that morning and now they may possibly remember seeing her there.

People park there, I saw some people parked there a few times while up at the Wall of Hope..
Probably should be a thread just about where the truck was parked?? =)

This is so confusing...was the whole point to ask people where they parked that day? I thought the flyer months ago was to ask about the white truck...

Maybe they know of a vehicle that is unaccounted for; so could b be looking for owner/driver of a vehicle others remember seeing.

While this case is being pored over by this forum that is not necessarily the case with the entire Portland public. Showing pics of the truck in places that the public might not have heard about or seen specifically in the news *might* jog their memory and associate them with being in those specific places at those specific times.

It takes the focus off inside Skyline, the last known place Kyron was seen, and puts the context in other specific places where perpetrators/accomplices of this crime apparently have been seen.

Really...? I see this as widening the focus to encompass much more.

New here...tired of lurking since this case began and not posting. :innocent:

Haven't we heard them say that they have received thousands of tips through the tip line? Haven't we also heard people complain that they've called in tips but have never heard back? Maybe they think there may already be a bunch of people who've called in and reported "hey I saw this truck parked at FM on June 4"... but because these tips are buried amongst 20 million (inflated intentionally for effect) other tips, it's easier to ask DIRECTLY for these people to call NOW, rather than go and weed through all of the existing tips to try to find them in the haystack?

If so, then we're not asking new people to jog their memory from two months ago... we're asking those people who reported their tip nearly two months ago to come forward and repeat it. Chances are, they were already annoyed that nobody had gotten back with them yet. Ha!

Is the tip line number they gave the same tip line number that they've been using all along or is it a new one expressly for this particular purpose?

and as a new poster, I guess I'm supposed to say MOO now? Moo.

They have a lot more evidence than we do. Wow.

I got the impression a witness placed Terri's truck somewhere besides the one place in the parking lot. They wouldn't comment when someone asked if it was near the "exit road". They probably also named what they could remember of cars that were parked around it.

I got the impression they were trying to determine where the truck was seen. Perhaps they have witnesses that saw a white truck in both places around the same time. Mybe one of them had a person in or near the truck but the other didn't and now they have to find out which was hers so they can either rule in someone else in the truck or rule out someone else in the truck. Notice how they kept repeating the make and model of the truck. They want to be surte people give them the location of the right white pickup truck. IMO, they don't know where her truck was parked for sure and now someone has thrown them a bone but they don't know yet if they can trust that info.

Also IMO, if they continue to stage photos like that and show them on flyers with pics of TH the defense is going to have a field day claiming anyone who came forward after seeing them were influenced by the photos.

So did they not talk about the mystery person in the truck? Or did I miss that? It seemed like they mostly focused on the truck, and other cars parked in certain spots at the school. What happened to the mystery person? I'm with you, Bean, I think there might not have been one.

I think mentioning the "mystery person" would fall into the "suggestion" category and that LE would prefer to have witnesses speak to whether or not there was someone in the vehicle or near it. jmo

Maybe the confusion in all this is that there is another white truck = maybe Terri was being set up by someone. That would explain the white truck seen at 3p and 2am on the dead end road. moo
That's what I was thinking. There was another white truck. What does the LS truck look like?

I'm sorry, but if the investigation was so productive, they wouldn't be having this press conference.

And two questionnaires with specific vehicles, places, and pictures isn't suggestive? I think they're getting undesirable feedback from the Grand Jury.

Boy, I hope they are getting somewhere with feedback from the GJ. I will be so upset if this was going the wrong way for 2+ months.
I'm hoping that the investigation is productive and they are really just making a solid case because they don't want to go against this defense attorney without a solid case. KWIM? Not sure I said that right.

also: seems they are getting closer...

they are looking at specific times of 0815-0845

and

1000-1015 (or 1030)

in very specific areas....

imhoo they are building a circumstantial case and need a few more witnesses to make their case solid.

I am very confident that their presser will be fruitful today. I bet the phones are ringing off the hooks.

moo. baahhh... quack.... neigh....

Again: what's *not quite right* in the Freddy's lot?
A crying child? Someboy doing something to the truck? An argument, a little scuffle? Throwing away trash from inside the truck? Like that...

wondering
what is not quite right about a parked truck?

You know, maybe it's just me, but these three seemed fairly upbeat. Assertive. Like they're having a good week on this investigation. The detective with the glasses was a bit less confident, - it seemed he didn't want to say more than he needed to is all. Analytic type.

Of course, it's just a feeling and I could have misinterpreted things.

But, Gates smiled when he referred to having a ton of evidence - or something. He worded it funny. don't know if I heard it wrong. would have to rewatch. :cow:
