But would it be loud enough for the boys to hear it in another room?

With all the doors closed too. Actually, I have no faith that all the doors were always kept closed in that house. Could be an excuse for not hearing a darn thing (used before the black out drunk revelation was introduced into the story).

Btw: when I chew gum, I sometimes clickety, click, click, click... If Debbi is involved with Lisa's disappearance, I can see her buzzed and in a panic, lighting up cigarette after cigarette, chewing gum. Lots of clickin. What to do? What to do?

Here is another overhead of the home:

PS
That earlier case has a thread here on Websleuths:

Here is a pic of the house. Not the layout inside though.

Could you flush a cell phone? I've seen kids flush lots of toys but would a cell phone flush?

I have put pictures on the sticky thread for pics of Lisa's case.

I like the dryer suggestion. late at night in an otherwise quiet house a dryer clicking is loud. Not so noticible in the daytime, so might would wake the boys.

My mouse clicks when I left click on it :D

Yeah bleaching some clothes!

Does anyone know of a baby monitor that will not exhibit the damn clicking that is comes from my iphone?

Also, is there something I can do on the iphone side to stop the interference in all manner of devices, short of wrapping it completely in tinfoil?

I think the clicking could be some sort of electrical interference?

Baby monitor, computer speakers?

Yup the dryer is a good thought especially if there is a sweat shirt, or onsie or something with snaps or a zipper.

And yes we saw the swing in the baby's room.... that does make a loud clicking noise and would be magnified a little by the monitor.

I doubt he'd toss out a detail without a basis for it. In the Ft. Bragg case you don't want us to discuss, the child was found in the attic. Many attics in ranch homes have a set of pull down steps. We have such steps and they do make a lot of noise pulling down and then "clicking" the folding steps into place.

I apoligize for bringing in that "other" case.]
Yep, and as you go up the steps each one makes it's very own noise. It is nearly impossible to go up these stairs quietly. And, the spring can make its own noises, too.

Let's say, hypothetically, that something happened inside the home - and all evidence or trace of this "something that happened" had to be gotten rid of. What would you need to do that may cause 'clicking'?

Things that may need to be done:
- cleaning
- washing clothes/linens
- wrapping/boxing something up
- hiding things
- contacting someone to help (via cell phone or computer)
- researching on the computer about how to dispose of evidence, or looking up locations

Anything else?

I think the washer/dryer in that house would likely be in the basement, below either the bath or kitchen.

That is a good sized ranch. Reminds me of the one I grew up in. Facing the front is the living room, on the left, and the back of the living room is the kitchen and dining area. There is probably a hallway with the bath first, then a bedroom and on the backside, 2 bedrooms. Although, it sounds like this may have 4 bedrooms as the boys shared, Lisa had one, another was the computer room and then one more for the master. What room does the deck open off though? Seems like a bedroom area almost.

I don't know, but if you tried to flush something over and over, the handle starts to 'click' while it's waiting for the toilet bowl to refill (or if it got flushed so hard that the float came unhooked <-- can you tell I know a lot about that?).

But then again, I guess if the toilet was flushed that much, a child would say they heard the toilet being flushed.
