I agree daisy. I just can't see why da/le feel another search will turn up anything. perplexing.
Maybe they want to lift parts of the floor, take carpet samples, put a hole in a wall. It's best to have a search warrant so if LE finds incriminating evidence, there won't be any question as to whether or not it's all above board - neither DB or JI can claim they never gave permission for LE to search again, because their permission is now irrelevant.

IMO

The clicking noises have their own thread. I found the link to the interview, it's all there.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this, I havent read all the posts yet but I think all LE has to do is get a search warrant for the cell phones. Then they can tear that house apart inch by inch. Its also a good intimidation tactic (not that they dont have cause), but LE could be sending a message..we're done fooling around.
They dont really need to find the cell phones to know whats on them but finding them in the house would be very incriminating. thats for sure..
I really really hope they find them in the house!

Just jumping off your post greenpalm;

I've seen a lot of posts about only being able to retrieve text messages from the actual phone.

Working in a law office that handles many capital murder cases (both State and Federal) and many drug cases (both State and Federal) I can tell you that LE will have the exact content of any texts sent and received. You may not get them on your phone statement, but LE gets them from you phone records, regardless of the company. Same thing for any emails you have sent or received, even if LE does not have the computer, or the cell phone in the case of phones.

Just a nugget of info for everyone.

This came up in the Rebecca Zahau case, although in it, it was a deleted voice mail LE claimed to be unable to retrieve. There was quite a bit of discussion about how long voicemails are kept by the carrier after they are deleted from the phone, etc. LE was never able to get the message.

what up? I know the local morning news has started there. Just nothing from the media this morning? Or is it that I'm so used to you all keeping me in the know and most of you all are still sleeping??
Just strange how the media is all over every lil thing but not this search warrant that will be executed this am.?

Watching all the morning news shows locally just waiting...

There's still a squad car sitting stationary in front of the residence with it's spotlight shining on the house...

I meant to say that too, if the cell phones are hidden in the house, they could be finger printed for DB & JI, or any unknown prints. If the alleged kidnapper's motivation in taking the phones was to slow the search down, then hiding them in the house wouldn't work very well, all one would need do is call the number, hear it ringing, and locate it.

If the motivation was theft, then you'd take them with you to use

3m 45s into video: just says "noises"
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/44927631#44927631

I can't remember what interview had it... grr

It's in the Good Morning America interview with Joe Tacopina, Bill Stanton & George Stephanopolous. Bill Stanton does say "clicking" but I started a thread to discuss it there. This is the search warrant thread.

I heard the clicking noise be stated on the interviews of BS and JS yesterday morning...I "think" on the today show under the MSM links. But definetly was stated by JS yesterday. And what about the clicking of a lighter to light up a cigarette??? I know if all is quiet a clicking noise of a chain smoker can be annoying. Just another thought on the "clicking" noise. Also just seen on the Today show that the familys hard drive was already taken and the family is requesting photos/home videos from that hardrive.

Today's the day! *fingers crossed*
Yep, LE is going to disassemble their home like Zahra Baker's. I wonder if LE is going to allow reporters close enough to hear the equipment. We need a person who has gone through an old home renovation to stand close enough to identify the noises and then report back to us. lol

I wonder if it differs in certain carriers or areas of the country. A couple years ago, a friend of mines daughter (teenagers) sent text messages that were threatening in nature. (arguing over a boy, the other girl called police). LE retrieved all the messages and voice mails from her phone, even the deleted ones.
PS she was charged with terrorist threats..remind your teens to be very careful what they text!!!

If the mom has stopped talking, they must have a few things to search for. One thing I would think would be the moms clothing that she was wearing in the wine purchasing video. Another could be their home computer, especially since "clicking noises" has been talked about.
Last night on WS, someone remembered that Ashley Irwin (the reeeeeally unhelpful family spokesperson) said that LE took Jeremy's computer within the first few days/

Its now getting to be daylight in mo. wonder if they will have live feed?

Baby swings click, don't they?

I don't think the clicking would have been mentioned if it was a common noise for the boy(s) to hear. I think dad was away and cocaine was being cut on a mirror or glass - somethng unusual for them to hear.

But, if the parents' gave permission for them to search (which they did), they wouldn't need a warrant. Plus, any of the stuff they've already found wouldn't be covered under the new search warrant. I'm just really confused why they felt the need to get the warrant now.

I think they want to do a very thorough search. Those phones, if that's one of the things they are looking for could be in one or some of the pockets of clothing, in the air ducts, heating vents as well as in any overhead or wall socket holes. In the computer printer, the freezer, taped beneath a piece of furniture, inside the base of a lamp, inside a pillow, cushions....etc. Walk around your house and just notice all the places you could stash a cell phone. I can tell you where I hid some of my jewelry long ago and it had to do with feminine products, lol.

Just confirming cellphones would no longer ping if they were flushed or submerged in water.

According to Peter Alexander on the Today Show this morning (10/19), the search warrant will be served today. Police have been standing guard over night at the house.

Wow, that sparked an old memory. Years ago I had a friend, her and husband rented out the upstairs of their house (1 bdrm apt) and their tenant at the time was behind in their rent. She said to me, "he can't pay rent but he can afford pot" I said "how do you know" she said " we can hear the clicking when he bangs the lighter on the back of the pipe to empty the bowl".
