LE wants to interview the parents separately

Maybe. Or maybe you're filtering everything they do through the lens of guilty till proven innocent.

Have you looked through the "Missing But Not Forgotten" section of this website? The things parents of missing children do seem to vary from nothing to the downright insane - and I'm talking parents who have been cleared by LE.

Me: "The balloon release was talked about by one local TV station. The occasional TV interview? They go months without talking to the media, local or national. I don't see what the tattoo has to do with keeping Lisa in the news; Was there a lot of media coverage of it?"

What's the point in publicizing their daughter's case?! Maybe, because they have made it clear that they believe an intruder kidnapped her. Lisa's a baby; if she was kidnapped, it's very likely that she's still alive. Why don't they keep her name and picture out there? Why don't they have an age progression done?
So if DB/JI are guilty of harming Lisa, they would want to be seen in the media more often to deflect their guilt and try to look like their innocent. Or_

If DB/JI are innocent of harming Lisa, they would want to be seen in the media more often to get her back home.

So what can we learn from their behavior? Will it tell us that their guilty or innocent? I'm not sure myself.
JMO.

The parents are ordinary people who might be overwhelmed and unsure how to best handle the media but with the benefactor, Joe Tacopina, Picerno, Stanton on board I'm sure if they wanted to make more waves about Lisa being missing they would have people on their team who could advise what to do. But in all likelihood the lawyers are telling them to stay mum unless JT wants his face on the telly again.

I think that some may not like DB And JI's actions and therefore feel that they are "guilty" because of that personal dislike and not because of any persuasive evidence pointing towards their guilt.

Memo to self: if you ever have a child missing, do not lie about the last time the child was seen. Being caught in that tends to make people suspicious.

That's an idea. DB/JI may be getting bad advice from their lawyers and Stanton. But I thought that these guys are only in this for the media exposure? Why would they try to limit that exposure?

No, better advice is don't get drunk when caring for your kids. That not only makes people suspicious, it makes them hate you.

Even better advice - if a child goes missing, don't be the child's parent, because that in itself makes people suspicious of you.

And if you can't avoid being the child's parent, make sure you are a paragon of virtue who lives up to the most ideal standards of parenthood, media savvy enough never to put a foot wrong in public, and skilled enough in interrogation tactics to handle intense 14 hour sessions with LE. Anything less will make people suspicious of you.

Or maybe you could just take no notice of public suspicions.

1. "Make sure you are a paragon of virtue who lives up to the most ideal standards of parenthood"

I don't think NOT being drunk, and NOT passing out while watching your children is some impossible standard to live up to.

2. "media savvy enough never to put a foot wrong in public"

You don't have to be media savvy to know that going months without talking to the press is not going to look good.

3. "skilled enough in interrogation tactics to handle intense 14 hour sessions with LE"

They haven't talked to LE in months. Are they still traumatized?

:lurk:

Say it ain't so. Posters here are attacking one another and not the post?

Cut it out, peeps. This is about Lisa and only about Lisa.

This part of your post is what I have a hard time trying to figure out.

If they are guilty of harming Lisa, why not try and get your face on TV as much as possible to make it look like your innocent? Or maybe try and do the opposite and do absolutely no media in the hopes that it will all go away?

DB and JI seem to be somewhere in the middle. I can't draw any conclusions about their innocence or guilt from that behavior myself.
JMO.

It's really quite simple. IF your 10 month old baby was kidnapped from your home. . .even if you were smoking crack while it happened. .. you would be frantic to find her. . you would cooperate with LE. Even if you were innocent and LE thought you were guilty. . you wouldn't stop professing your innocence and trying to find her. . .even if that meant doing it from a jail cell! Where is Dirk Schiller's mom? THAT is what an innocent parent does!

There was a cadaver dog hit in the master bedroom in the house on Lister. From posters watching the live feed of the big search warrant search on the home. .. there was at least one other dog hit in the back yard. The parents lied about PN's living situation when BL disappeared. WHY? DB lied about that night. . .about her drinking AND about the timeline. Yeah yeah. .. she was under duress. . .I don't buy it! When it comes to something as serious as your baby missing. .. the fact that you had a few on the porch that night, which is not a crime, pales in comparison to the seriousness of the situation.

When it comes to behavioral psychology, which I have a masters degree in, I waffle on DB. She's either deviant or she might just be really naive and being duped. If she knows what happened to BL, and I lean to thinking she does, she's a pretty good liar. There is doubt whether or not she is just a narcissist or histrionic and could still be innocent. BUT when it comes to JI. . .nope. .. classic lying. He knows what happened to BL and he is not a good liar. Yes, I understand about the law and evidence and burden of proof. But PLEASE take a look at their early interviews and tell me honestly that you don't sense that his behavior is extremely odd. And no it is not that he is just odd. There have been photographs of him displaying normal, outgoing behavior. And I'm NEVER going to buy the "everybody responds differently" argument. It's a fallacy! Human beings are extremely predictable in their behavior. THAT is a scientific fact. Whether the behavior is normal or deviant. .. it can be predicted with great accuracy.

It wasn't about getting drunk. It was about lying. Don't tell the truth and be honest in a very serious situation and YES people will doubt your honesty. Why on earth would she lie about something so trivial in a situation this grave? And why should we believe her when she has proven that she is a liar?

I'll admit that I only have a high school education and perhaps that limits me in trying to understand your post. But what from "their early interviews" should make me feel that his behavior is odd and what does that mean?

All of the comments about people seeing a dog hit on a live feed and parents lying about PN's living situation sounds more like rumor than fact to me. Any links about that would be appreciated.

In my opinion it's about being drunk. I'm not even sure if she knows what time she last saw Lisa because of that fact.

I'm not sure what is trivial about this at all. And I don't believe everything DB has said at all. I think that she was impaired from alcohol that night and any timeline from her is questionable.

His behavior is odd in that he NEVER showed any emotion. He never made eye contact. I don't really remember him doing anything but stare at his shoes and wring his hands nervously. He also fidgeted with BL's Barney and used it as a pacifier. He mumbled through anything he said, and "eye checked" at DB for approval. And once those questiones passed his body language showed great relief. It was later pictures and interviews that showed that this was NOT his baseline. This is not "normal" behavior for a father whose baby was kidnapped, for JI or anybody else. Normally we would see signs of anguish, frustration and anxiety. Actually, from a man, anger wouldn't be uncommon, along with the normal grief. But we didn't get any of that from JI. The only behavior he displayed is what would be considered "normal" for deception. This is a decent read. . .http://www.humanliedetection.com/BodyLanguageOfLiars.php

ETA. . that article in the link talks about "playing possum" and why liars do it. That is EXACTLY what JI was doing in those interviews!

Thanks Hambirg. I'm not into that "body language" stuff myself. I'm more of a "hard evidence" and or "validated science" kind of guy.

Body language IS validated science. Let me put it this way. There is the science of attraction. People can say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it can be subjective and difficult to define. BUT if I post a picture of Adriana Lima and one of Rosie O'Donnell, I would bet that 99.9% of all people ( I would be surprised if it wasn't 100%) could tell us that Lima is more attractive. Could they tell us why they think that? Probably not. It's instinctual. The scientists who study the theories of attraction could most likely tell us though. It's the same idea. Whether you recognize it or not. . .it is VERY real and valid. Just for fun. . .who is more attractive?

Can scientists predict who people will choose with accuracy? You bet!

ETA. . my point is that there are things that are instinctual and happen on a subconscious level. That doesn't make them any less real. In fact, it makes them more real and genuine. It's part of perpetuating the species instinct.. . picking an attractive fertile mate. . and avoiding people who are deceptive. They both serve the same purpose. . .ensuring species survival. Most people can't explain why they find one person more attractive then the other anymore than they can tell you why somebody makes them feel "hinky."
