One of the biggest inconsistencies is when (and how) KCs car was left at Amscot. TL claimed KC called him to pick her up at the Amscot lot after her car ran out of gas. He says KC left that morning before him and when he picked her up at Amscot she had bags with stuff including some clothes, frozen pops and chicken that he believed she had collected from home (???). In his first statement, he is not positive of the date but later on LE report they believed this happened on June 27th. TLs roomate also said he remembered the incident happening at about 11:30am June 27th. (Im going by memory but this is all in various doc dumps.)
But the Amscot lady noticed KCs car parked there already on June 27th at 7am when she got to work that morning. Thats why it was towed on June 30th - after she noticed it there the third morning.
So if thats the case, KCs car was ALREADY parked at the Amscot lot on the morning of June 27th when KC left TLs apartment. Huh???
It just it too much of a coincidence that the car happened to run out of gas at the same spot later that same day. Why would she need to stage the car having run out of gas ....why was the car already there? Makes no sense....
Snipped for space.
Here's my theory on this. IMO, it's possible the Amscot lady was mistaken on when she first noticed the car sitting there. She may have noticed it when she went to lunch, or when she came back from lunch. Eyewitness testimony is proven over and over to not be very reliable. For example, if cars being left parked on this Amscot lot is a problem, it might be an annoyance to this manager, so by day 2 she is thinking, "It's been here two whole days already!" and by the time she is calling and reporting it to be towed, she has inadvertently changed in her mind it being there from the moment she got to work on the 27th.
Also, if Casey intentionally pulled the car into the lot and left it running to make it look like it accidentally ran out of gas, the car's battery would have been dead when George picked it up at the tow company 18 days after the fact.
Casey was trying to get a gas can and pick up the car, and by the time she got there, the car was already towed. Meanwhile, George has no idea what was going on, and he put gas in the car when he picked it up. Casey's call to Jesse and to Tony, having the groceries, etc., all point, IMO, to the car really running out of gas and being left at Amscot after 7am. The only discrepency is the Amscot lady, and the only thing that makes sense to me is the Amscot lady is mistaken about when she first noticed the car.
