Attorneys can bring great peace of mind. Who can this family trust? Their first spokesperson sold pictures and kept the money. The family pastor has spoken to the media, in a limited way.

Maybe he wants to feel like someone he can trust who can speak for him and discuss things in a confidential way.

I think LA probably got an attorney because he is a part of a family that is all under investigation. Whether or not he had anything to do with a coverup we don't know, but I am sure that just as the A's are being investigated for giving these conflicting statements, he is being investigated for the same as well.

IMO - this family has exhibited "odd" behavior from the get go. Its not just KC telling JG and TL that LA had "done something". But with JG she also went on to tell him that she told CA about it and CA did nothing. hhhmmm....

OK - so skip that - considering KC - could be a lie and ploy for attention. Let's go on....

All those "sex sites" that were on the computer forensics - LP insinuated those came from LA - that LA traveled extensively for his job and I "thunk it further" that LA could just be a horn dog and was setting up hook-ups in these traveled cities - with a live-in gf he didn't want to risk her finding anything on that computer so he would slip on over to mom's and do it there. If that is the case - could LA have a "sexual behavior" problem? And how did he deal with that? But, ok - let's go on...........

There has been swirling questions from the beginning about Caylee's bio dad. It was this guy, it was that guy, he died in a car accident in Orlando, no - he died in an accident out of state, no - he got married and had another child and didn't want any involvement - then he died. Yet through all this - never, ever did KC apply for AFDC, food stamps, or assistance. WHY? The financial situation in that home was very strained and that assistance would have really helped. Why was there never an application made? You don't have to identify the father to get it in Florida. Was this out of guilt? CA knew and was worried eventually someone would start asking questions? CA is all about presentation and she did not want her family being looked at in such a horrible light.

Plus throughout this all - whenever this had been brought up - even by LP on national TV (on NG) and said as much - NEVER EVER did Camp Anthony scream defamation, foul, - no - those remarks and comments were never addressed. As fast as CA was to want to sue reporters and protestors - she never even squeaked about what LP said concerning LA and paternity. But.....

Ok - let's go on............... LE asks CA and GA and LA for polygraphs. Per LP, CA and GA were willing - it was after they spoke with LA did they refuse and those were never done. LA!!!!

Then come the requests for DNA swabs - again GA and CA give it up willingly - yet again LA REFUSES - LE has to go the subpoena route to finally get his - ALONG WITH THE FINGERPRINTS.

Why why why if it is JUST YOUR NIECE missing would you not want to do ALL YOU CAN to help solve this and find her or find the killer?

There is just WAY WAY WAY WAY too much come out of Camp Anthony - specifically pointing to LA and his weird behavior that any normal thinking person wouldn't stop and say "hold up - what's wrong? why won't he ........"

And, on the other hand, this family has protected KC from the legal consequences of her behavior all her life. This is just more of the same.

The As acted weird BEFORE any of this happened. They alienated the whole extended family, be enabling KC, and going along with her lies.

How many people here have expressed the opinion that he's guilty of something ? - doesn't matter what, doesn't matter if there's a single iota of evidence against him, fry the dude! Ask questions later.

He should have lawyered up long before now.

:clap:Exactly. Lawyers don't just defend the guilty. They are also there to protect your rights, and to advise you on the best course of action in a difficult situation. I myself am also surprised it took him this long to retain counsel. When your sister is accusing you of rape or attempted rape, and your niece's remains have been located in the woods near the family home, you would be a fool not to get an attorney to protect yourself. From the vultures in the media if nothing else!

Yes exactly!!!!..... and by the way LE has his DNA.....SO.....if they had proof he was the father, they were legally obligated to provide him with official notice at the same time as Casey was notified. Yet, the ME and LE both said only Cindy was notified besides Casey. HMMMMMMM

There are many good reasons for Lee to finally hire an attorney. Maybe he wants someone to defend him in the media or make a statement for him. Maybe he's going to go after the media for making false statements about him. People hire attorneys for all kinds of reasons, not just to defend themselves against criminal charges.

ITA to all that. Sometimes this board gets really ugly with people slinging things out--right now there's no proof of anything but people want to hang him , fry him, whatever, and all he's done (that we know of) is get a lawyer!

If it comes out that he's got some involvement in some way then I will certainly change my mind.

Considering how his sister is slingling mud right and left, and seeing how ugly this is getting, I certainly don't blame him for lawyering up. If he's innocent through and through, then people's opinons don't matter in the long run.

I agree, and I'm no fan of LA. The incest enthusiasm, for instance, with no evidence whatsoever is VERY ugly.

There are a couple of other things to remember: 1) the As DNA tests have been in and finished, and 2) Kiomara said she MET the father. He was "tall, slim, and kind of quiet." KC said he has since died, and he wasn't LA. He was just one of KCs guys.

What bothers me about this, is, if that is true (that he died) why did KC not try to get Social Security for Caylee. And, if true, Caylee had other grandparents. I wonder if, assuming the father is dead, do the grandparents know now that this is their grandchild that has been murdered.

I agree....my first thought was that if I were him my first assignment for the attorney would be to begin putting together lawsuits against every person or media outlet that has been spewing out this slander. He definitely has reason and plenty of evidence to support that this has been done. There is absolutely no one who can even remotely substantiate what they are saying in this regard. LP is on video repeating this accusation over and over and over again, and he NEVER says it is my theory, or I think it is possible, HE STATES IT AS FACT.

First lawsuit should be aganist his sister, she was the one who told tone he "approached" her in high school.

Agreed!! The other point I would like to add here is the amount of paranoia KC tried to instill in the A's as well(i.e. threats against the family, Caylee, KC being framed, etc.)....That being said, I am actually really surprised that he didn't get a lawyer MUCH sooner, considering she was leading the family to believe that they couldn't even trust LE...ANY of them, because they were out to get her (Excluding Det Wells, per her jailhouse convo with CA)

I don't know LA's involvement, if any, but Im afraid they all better strap on their seatbelts and put the helmet on because the bus being driven by the defense team is heading for their street. KC surely isn't going to stop it,if it means she can be free to dance on some more poles and have no obligation to Caylee anymore.....

It was stated on CNN News that Nuclear DNA testing was used to confirm ID on Caylee. My questions is this. They had to have KC's DNA, Caylee's DNA and the Father's DNA for Nuclear testing correct? If the Father is dead according to the A's where did they get the Father's DNA?

Caylee's DNA minus the maternal DNA leaves the paternal DNA. The nuclear DNA is all 46 chromosomes of Caylee's DNA.

They don't have a SAMPLE from the father, because they don't know who that it.

Having Caylee's father, or his family, in Caylee's life would be inconvenient for Casey, so she 'killed' him off without naming him. Removing unwanted people from her life seems to be her specialty.

I'm no expert but they did have Caylee's dna from the dna test done by Jesse I believe. i would think if they had the dna results from this they could use it to compare to the remains. i still think they know who the father is though.

Doubt it. I don't think even KC knows. Kiomara said KC had eight boyfriends, at the time.

I for one see LA getting an attorney as a hopeful sign that he too is ready to
cooperate fully in any way needed at this point. Up until today's confirmation I think he simply took the big brother stance in maintaining his sisters innocence as he saw it and believing Caylee was indeed taken. We have only seen the very public side of the Anthony's {albeit bad indeed} LA has seen first hand how this is probably literally killing his mother. In most cases you have the victims family and how they have to process the tragedy and then you have the suspects family and them trying to figure out what went so terribly wrong..The anthony's have been hit both ways..wanting desperately for Caylee to be alive somewhere and their daughter not to be guilty of something so horrible I'm sure their minds could not even process it.. Seeing all those photos of Caylee and the videos of her being a very happy little girl with more toys and things that a lot of children will probably never have..No one can ever convince me that the grandparents did not love this precious darling with all their heart..
As a parent and grandmother myself..I will continue to pray for this family

IIRC it was just that claim that got Susan Smith LWOP. She had claimed she was sexually abused by the step-father and that's why her mindset or behavior or whatever was the way it was. IMO JB and Team Casey have been toying with this type of defense for a while now.



Young women who are so sexually promiscuous usually have sexual abuse in their background - a lot of times it is what causes this behavior in these women.

But not always. I have promiscuous young women on my caseload who just up and got rid of their virginity and dove right in. This included two personal friends.

Kiomara said KC did JUST that. Got rid of her virginity, because she was tired of it. Next thing is she told Kiomara she had been with eight guys.

Remember, KC is a sociopath. They are sensation seekers.

Caylee had physical characteristics that we don't see in the Anthonys, like her huge eyes. She obviously inherited those from someone outside of the family.

It IS horrible. And there is not a scrap of evidence that it's true.

My guess is that if it WAS, BTW, KC would focus on that as an excuse, right now.

I think CW is right about Klee's big, beautiful eyes. The rest of her face looked like CA, to me.
