Kevin Smith talks about his week of Filming with Prince at Paisley Park and how it was wired for sound in this.
I think it may be what your referring to. It's about an half hour long but he mentions it at the 16:44 Mark.

It seems the filming was pertaining to reactionsTHE RAINBOW CHILDREN Album.

You would think so. Also it might have been a good idea to have someone staying with him in case something else went wrong.... as it did :(

Did he want to be alone? Was he usually alone at Paisley Park? So many in his entourage you would think he were rarely really alone in that building?
I don't know ......... it's so sad no one was there to help him :(

So much of this leaves me wondering

I always imagined there would be someone there, even if it was a body guard, housekeeper or whatever. So many interviews from others I've read have talked about how he would always have people over for parties or games or whatever. I cannot imagine him rattling around in that big place on his own without at least a body guard (and I watched an interview where he admitted he didn't cook other than an omelette or something, so who would have made him dinner or breakfast in that last 24 hours?).

Right! But didn't he usually have body guards or near by. Or some type of entourage? Paisley Park is a big place. He could retire to his apartment and still have his peace.

Especially being he was not doing well the week prior. Just would seem prudent to have someone in the building just in case.

Exactly! I had a heart attack and cardiac arrest last year and I was not left alone for 4 weeks!

When I heard the news my first thought was it was heart related considering the earlier reports of flu - a virus can damage and weaken your heart. I have to have flu and pneumonia shots every year now as a safeguard. I do remember while I was in hospital being given a cocktail of various painkillers. I was given morphine, oxycodone, pethidine, targin and fentanyl patches, in various combinations. I couldn't think or see straight, let alone walk steady. I don't know he could have had painkillers in such high doses and still function because I couldn't even get a sentence off my tongue, unless he developed a tolerance to them.

I'm thinking they wanted to get in there pronto in case
A. There was a will in there ( which I was not surprised at the absence of one given Princes aversion to CONtracts)
B. Someone else beat them to it

I having some mixed feelings on Sheila E right now..l.
Yes, as trustee of the estate, the bank has a fiduciary duty to inventory and establish a value for all his property, possessions, and holdings. This is a huge, time consuming process, for which there are time constraints. Estate tax returns, as one example, have due dates that must be met. There are no doubt many things he owned that will require a specialized appraisal to establish a value. And those appraisals must be done as close to the date of death as possible to get an accurate value and withstand any possible challenges.

Also, the bank has a fiduciary responsibility to secure his assets. The bank would be liable for any assets that may go missing. While it's been reported that Prince was the only one who could open the vault, there is always the possibility that someone else has access. So they have to get into the vault, inventory the contents, and secure as fast as possible.

The bank, as trustee, is acting entirely appropriately.

The newest Adam and Dr. Drew (Pinsky) show discusses Prince in a couple of areas of this podcast. Dr. Drew works with addicts. He says that while it ultimately may turn out that yes, there was an overdose at this time, his death could also be a combination of a drug and an underlying disease. Says he didn't see "addict" with Prince and also mentioned that without glasses on, his pupils were "midpoint". Also didn't see any of the crazy addict behavior often seen. Interesting conversation.

The last meal Ray Roberts prepared for Prince was roasted red pepper bisque and a kale salad. When he entered Paisley Park that night, he was told he could just leave the meal and go.

"Whatever was going on with him that night, he clearly wanted to be alone," said Roberts. Typically, the artist was jovial and his home and recording studio was a joyful, light-filled, and fun place to be.

By the following morning, Roberts would discover that Prince never did eat that dinner. By now we all know why.

"He didn't seem like his normal self that night. He'd been like that for months."

This makes me feel sad for Prince. I just feel sad. I wish he'd had someone by him to hold his hand and comfort him. But I would wish that for anyone who passes away

Fans' Holy Grail: Unreleased Songs in Prince's Vault

attachment.php

The Prince vault may have taken on a mythical status but it's an actual secured location on the grounds of Paisley Park. The compound's lead architect, Bret Thoeny of California's BOTO Design, said the musician asked for a walk-in repository similar to a bank vault.
"He wanted a place to keep his master recordings, but at the time it was very important to keep this a secret," Thoeny told CNN.

BBM: to add from the citypages article:

But despite the diligent work, the last few months had been worrisome for Ray.

"The last few months he had the flu or a cold, always. There was always something going on. He was off his game and needed to rest. I had to be careful about what I was serving him." Prince was more frequently requesting foods that would help him to feel better, or something easy for his throat, or foods that made him feel like he was being nourished."

Imo- this is a clue that something wasn't right, something else was going on.

I can't imagine why anyone, after having a previous scare the week before, would ingest enough to cause death.
His sister isn't letting any grass grow under her feet. IMO

But , that is how it works when one has a dependency ....the drugs lul your brain into believing that everything is going to be alright , when in fact you are flirting with disaster .
My ex for example is an addict ...started with prescription pills ...percocettes to be specific ...he then added cocaine to,his Arsenal.
Last year he had a heart attack , the doctor told him that if he keeps using its going to kill him.
The week after he got out of the hospital he was eating pills and doing coke, had another heart attack and stayed clean for a couple of months and is back at it full force right now . Its total insanity.

Yes, this is a very accurate description of dependency/"addiction" to the layman. I once worked in a hospital-based chemical detox unit. One of our screening questions for the Percocet users was "How many pills to you take at once? Five? Eight?" During the training for this work, I almost choked when I came to this question! But we were told that the reaction to this question would tell us a lot about what was really going on with the patient. Answers could from "Oh, my gosh, no never more than two at a time" to "Well, sometimes" to "Yeah, about that".

----------------------------------------

Sometimes I get disgusted and other times angry when I hear of the latest celebrity death due to accidental overdose on prescription meds. Because these people were abusers. Whether we loved their music or their movies, far too many of them had multiple doctors writing multiple prescriptions in multiple names in order to obtain their drug of choice. And when you're doing this, you know you're doing it.

And the media makes the usual big deal about "cracking down on prescription drugs". It is NOT the millions of legitimate pain patients - both those who have an acute condition or a chronic pain condition who are abusing these drugs. An extremely small percentage of legitimate pain patients ever become "addicted". There are pain clinic patients who because of well-managed opiate use have been able to lead productive lives while suffering for years from otherwise debilitating conditions.

And contrary to the "myths" one sees published, these meds rarely just "stop working" so that patients "need to keep taking more and more" to get pain relief.

It is a big, complex subject. It does sound like there may have been more going on with Prince than just drug abuse. Not that that was not enough. The reports say that he had Percocets on his body when he was found. That tells you something - he wanted to have them handy for his next dose.

I keep reading about doc writing pain med rxs. That has not been my experience at all. I broke a bone and couldn't get any decent pain medicine.

Sorry about your ex,cubbeegirl
I do understand addiction but still can't imagine almost dying (if reason for emergency plane landing is true) and doing the exact same thing a week later.
You would think he would taper off a bit.
He had all the reason in the world to want to live.
I did my share back in the day but never went to that point. I was always able to draw a line.
Users know when enough is enough. IMO

No matter who his heirs are, they have to get on top of the financial situation ASAP. There's a lot at stake and the estate needs to be protected, plus there are still bills to pay, and probably some salaries for his employees, etc. She can't take months to mourn and then try to sort it all out. It's a tough situation for her, because she looks greedy if she's handling things now, but she'd look incompetent if she waited.

According to TMZ she went the day after the memorial. That seems a bit soon to me,but I agree one shouldn't wait months.

I think that's one of the maddening things about addiction....it totally doesn't make sense.,,
But it is how it works ....and thank you .

With all the non released music that was said to,have been in that vault they absolutely had to jump on it.
Not saying I think Tyka had pure intentions.,,but they are estimating two egenerations of unreleased music was in there..,,that makes me happy to know that our grandkids will still have some good music !

I have to admit to having felt a bit of guilt knowing that Prince detested YouTube because the artist lost control of his music.
I've come to the conclusion that Prince left no one in charge and he isn't here and I think he would any us to enjoy his music and remember him...Enjoy it before it's taken down,,
