I am curious about the elevator. Is anyone aware of where the elevator is located, is it in a public area or a private area of his home?

I ask because I recall an interview from a few years ago (sorry, can't remember where I read it or by whom so I can't provide a link) and the author had been invited to Paisley Park over a period of a week (I think). The author noted how PP was wired for sight and sound; Prince would invite people over and effectively 'spy' on them to gauge reactions to his music. I am sure I read that the entire complex was able to be watched and listened to. I am interested to know if these cameras and listening devices were operating all of the time or only when it suited Prince's needs.

Kevin Smith talks about his week of Filming with Prince at Paisley Park and how it was wired for sound in this.
I think it may be what your referring to. It's about an half hour long but he mentions it at the 16:44 Mark.

It seems the filming was pertaining to reactionsTHE RAINBOW CHILDREN Album.

Just a question...

Prince had an unresponsive episode on the plane when returning from Atlanta. It required a life-saving hospital response. Wouldn't you think Prince would have been on top of using drugs after this happened and would have been just a bit more careful using prescription drugs? Seems if you nearly died, you are going to consider the consequences.

You would think so. Also it might have been a good idea to have someone staying with him in case something else went wrong.... as it did :(

Did he want to be alone? Was he usually alone at Paisley Park? So many in his entourage you would think he were rarely really alone in that building?
I don't know ......... it's so sad no one was there to help him :(

So much of this leaves me wondering

Fans' Holy Grail: Unreleased Songs in Prince's Vault

attachment.php

The Prince vault may have taken on a mythical status but it's an actual secured location on the grounds of Paisley Park. The compound's lead architect, Bret Thoeny of California's BOTO Design, said the musician asked for a walk-in repository similar to a bank vault.
"He wanted a place to keep his master recordings, but at the time it was very important to keep this a secret," Thoeny told CNN.

The suspicions just keep piling up for me. That bank... BANK!!!, was in an awful hurry to drill into the vault. I don't like this one bit. At this point I am not believing anything I read with regards to this case,
And yes, I am referring to it as a case. Nothing here passes the ole sniff test.

I'm thinking they wanted to get in there pronto in case
A. There was a will in there ( which I was not surprised at the absence of one given Princes aversion to CONtracts)
B. Someone else beat them to it

I having some mixed feelings on Sheila E right now..l.

I hope that's not true, in a way, bc it sounds creepy. OTOH, it would clear up some things about his last moments.

Actually, there is less chance of any "money squabble" when the person died intestate. Everything is very cut and dried, and goes by state law. No one sibling will get any more than another sibling unless there were things is existence that do not become a part of the estae - things like life insurance policies with a named beneficiary, or bank accounts that were designated to someone as "Payable On Death".

Reading about Prince's paranoia about signing documents and his constant changing of attorneys in the years prior to his death, and him not having a will, it does not sound like he would have had any type of an "estate plan" in place.

All decisions regarding Prince's estate will be overseen by the Probate Court. An Administrator - his bank - has been appointed. Their first job is to gather, inventory, and determine value for all assets of the estate. We have no idea how Prince held title to his real estate, his song catalog, or anything else. Banks have legal departments and trust departments that know what they are doing in regard to these things. Unlike "siblings" - who unless they are already an attorney working in a trust department, would not know where to begin. So the sister was smart to ask the Probate Court to appoint Prince's bank for the Administration.

And yes, of course if there was a locked safe within Prince's house that no one could get into, it was the legal duty of the Administrators to gain access to the safe. There could have been a will in the safe. But it sounds like there wasn't.

------------------------------

Medically, there is "opiate use" and "opiate abuse". Either, of course, can result in physiological dependency, meaning the person will experience withdrawal symptoms when they stop taking the drug or even when they reduce the prior dosage they were taking. It seems to be emerging that Prince had been using/abusing the opiate oxycodone - which is what is in Percocet, along with Tylenol - for some time. Perhaps years. And cocaine use is also mentioned.

The big bad side effect of any opiate is that it depresses the little center inside our brain that tells us to breathe. That is how it kills people. Narcan is the emergency drug that can pretty instantaneously counteract opioids.

At age 57 Prince was getting a bit long in the tooth to be continuing to mess with these substances. His liver could have been compromised by the long-term high doses of Tylenol that people who are hooked on high doses of Percocet are ingesting along with the oxycodone. That would mean he was not clearing the drug from his system as readily as he had previously. So they are taking the same amount they always take, but they still have a lingering amount of the prior dose in their system. The drug also causes short term memory loss, so some will forget when or whether they took a previous dose and will take more.

Prince most definitely should have been hospitalized after the plane incident. This was clearly a case of opioid abuse. I would think the doctors tried very hard to convince him to stay in the hospital. Where were "his people" in all of this, I wonder?

Autopsy results will show the blood level of opiates at time of death. Whether or not it was a massive overdose (which can indicate suicide) or just a high enough level to kill him (indicating a probable accidental overdose). Other testing can indicate whether or not there was liver compromise.

It is all so sad.

Thank you for laying out the process regarding the probate court and administrator so clearly. I knew there was no reason for concern about drilling into the safe, etc but did not know how to express it. There is nothing going on here that is strange. The process actually protects Prince's assets and protects his family from accusations.

I feel sad.
He was not "old" imo. There is something missing in this story
And Yes, I know that young people can take too much medicine. Something is missing here.

I can't imagine why anyone, after having a previous scare the week before, would ingest enough to cause death.
His sister isn't letting any grass grow under her feet. IMO

I think he did it on purpose , what in the hell else would the remark "wait a few days before you shed any tears for me" mean , and I am still profoundly sad.

It is very strange. I've seen that remark referenced quite a few times the last few days, and seen a few articles stating he may have been terminally ill.

It will be interesting to see what the final outcome of the investigation states after toxicology reports come back.

You can never know what to believe. Guess we will never truly know.

I agree that that is a very strange thing to say.

What is the idea about suicide in his religion? I take it that he was a religious person. IDK.

I thought he said, "wait a few days before you waste any prayers on me" but I may have it wrong.

Im not in the know as to wills, but if there is not a will -- will the government get a huge chunk? I'd rather a charity of his choice get it. Sorry if that is a stupid question.
