I was reading the reports and on page 37, I noticed they mentioned "the toy horse and fence", as well as a raised "pink" shaped heart. I'm going to venture on to page 52. So far it looks to me like LE did a very thorough job documenting. This is so tough to read. So sad for Caylee.

And from reading that paragraph again, it sounds like it was a letter.

"The letter was shown to Det. Yuri Melnich. The letter was photocopied to be retained in the case file."

If cc had been sent to the media, its hard for me to understand why we haven't heard about it. Good Lord, if they'll report about Jose's gas pains, they'll report about ANYTHING.
Well, it could mean one of three things. We HAVE heard about it, just don't know it (where the info came from), or LE asked the media to put a lid on it, or it's nothing worth noting. Just strange they didn't actually have the letter in the docs.

could it be letter from Anne or one Casey friend?

It was like ripping a scab off a healing wound. Incredibly raw.

OK, out there thought, but we might also consider that it was sent to 'LE' vs. 'LEE'

I doubt it, but let's throw it on the fire, just in case.

The JW thought is a good one. heh

The fact that it arrived on Dec. 15th leads me to believe it has something to do with Caylee's discovery. Maybe it was from one of the psychics.

RR0004, I thought about that angle - that LE asked the media to put a lid on it, but I wonder if they could intercepted the info that quickly? You know how the media jumps on a story before they have all the facts. Maybe they could have...it was, however, my first thought (le asking media to put a lid on it).

Another thing that is weird to me is where that paragraph about this letter was within the documents.

It was in the middle of a report by a Ronald Murdock, who was responsible for gathering data for the computerized diagram of the crime scene. I know it says he also helped with sifting and searching, but I felt like that paragraph about the letter seemed a little out of place.

ETA: unless it just happened to be received by the Forensic Unit on that particular day.

And, "the letter and envelope were turned over to the Evidence Section."

Maybe they'll look for prints on the envelope? Why send it anonymously though?

They did just slide it right in there.

I didn't see the photo of the toy horse/fence either. But on page 37, it stood out to me and my heart sank.

I just checked the media links for Dec. 15th - 17th and there is nothing there that would seem to be related to the media having this letter.

I'm sorry, I just HAD to do it. :D

OK, why specifically to LEE? Not CA, GA, Yuri, the forensics team, ME, etc.

Why to LEE?

And why not to Lee at Hopespring?

It is evident that this anonymous sender wanted authorities to see it.

Maybe it didn't get picked up as it was something like, "I know you helped plant Caylee there, Lee. You'll pay..."

Wonder if we can get Kathi B to join and then start a question and answer thread for her.

I'd love that. I like Kathi B. She'd be inundated. We might have to booze her up, too.

Probably a letter from GSJ to Lee, telling him she had a video of the area, she was there in August (?) and didn't see anything. Then a copy of the letter was sent anonymously to LE, etc.
